Kind of a hole in the wall. 3 rolls for 10 bucks. Tiny rolls BUT very flavorful, good quality. The rice to «meat» ratio was small but very testy. The pu pu platter is no longer available incase you’re interested in eating pupu for lunch :-)

Ordered 2 spicy tuna rolls online, and it took an hour and a half to get here. The side salad was 3 pieces of lettuce with some carrot shavings. The sushi was small, the 2 rolls looked very different from eachother, though they were the same thing. There was also a piece of wood in one piece. Never again.

I always feel bad whenever I feel the need to give a one rating, it’s not personal, and always hope the establishment gets something positive from my comments. I ordered the Sushi C lunch special, which for me came with soup and salad(though the menu says soup or salad), and the miso soup was pretty good — it had flavor, it had seaweed, but could have used just a tad bit more tofu. The salad dressing was unusual — I can’t quite place the flavor, but I think it was miso based, and that was okay, too. The sushi came and combination C is a large plate. Including the slices of the Dragon Roll, there must have been 18 — 20 pieces. The presentation was nice, and for $ 14.50, I was thinking, «What a great deal.» So, with the miso soup and salad being pretty good, we start the main entrée with a 3 rating. How did it get down to a 1? First, the fish was not fresh, and not only was it not fresh, it was warm, as if the refrigerated case was not working. Second, the rice was not sushi rice(which I would later come to the conclusion is the same case with many other NYC sushi joints). It was regular rice. And it didn’t stick very well. Third, the seaweed was a low quality seaweed that didn’t come into play. It was the really soft, thin type that melts when you put something hot on it. Fourth, not suprisingly, whether it was the nigiri sushi or the dragon roll, the sushi tasted pretty awful. I thought about giving this place a two because the miso soup and salad are acceptable, and the service is great — really really friendly people — but I can’t — the sushi was that bad — The worst being that the fish was not fresh.

Price: $ 8-$ 12 Highlight: Breathing space around Penn Station I really like this place. And it is one of my «secret» lunchtime places when I just want to sit down somewhere but not have to contend with huge crowds, sitting on top of people, long lines, loudness and overpriced food. Their sushi is consistently good and I always have the 2 for $ 8 or 3 rolls for $ 10 lunch special which usually ends up being spicy tuna, salmon avocado and the third is always whatever. With the lunch special is a choice of small salad or miso soup. Food is always fresh and great and the tummy approves. The waitstaff is friendly and attentive.

I took one for the team to experience firsthand how this place fared. After 5 fairly low Unilocal reviews, I was hesitant but curious. This was the first warning of what was to come. So I ordered the the Shredded Pork with Garlic Sauce Lunch Special($ 6.55) served with choice of white rice, plain fried rice, or brown rice. Also included is choice of hot & sour soup, wonton soup, egg roll, or a can of soda. I opted for the white rice and hot & sour soup. When I went to pick up my order at 12:45pm, the establishment looked decent and clean but it was eerily quiet and empty except for one gentleman waiting for his order. This was my second warning. The Hot & Sour soup, served in a medium-sized styrofoam soup cup was slightly pink in color(think red vinegar). The flavor was on target for your standard soup but slightly on the sour side from too much vinegar. The soup was at its simplest, minimal in ingredients with almost no wood ear fungus, and a few scant pieces of tofu and julienned canned bamboo shoots. It contained mostly egg drop bits and surprisingly several whole mushrooms. The main entrée was served in a peculiar slightly smaller than the norm black plastic tray. Portions were scant as almost 2⁄3 of the dish contained white rice. On the other side of the tray, looked like nothing I had ordered. This was my 3rd and final warning. Rather than getting shredded pork, I got ~10 pieces of thinly sliced char-siu pork. The pork was tender though did not have a lot of flavor. Complimented with the pork was a medley of broccoli, sliced celery, scallions, canned bamboo shoots, green peppers, and sliced semi-raw carrots. They seemed to have gotten something somewhat right. But the flavor was completely off, tasting more like sweet & sour sauce, without any hint of spiciness to this dish. Fuji really needs to work on their flavor profiles, portion sizing and need to go to Chinese takeout 101. I was utterly disappointed, but I wasn’t the least bit surprised as this place didn’t receive one positive Unilocal review. Fuji is sooo far from earning a 2nd visit from me.

At a all day event at the javits so ordering take out seemed like a good idea. The sushi is no where near good, but decent for the purpose it served: basic nutrition.

Chef Special rolls were very good and priced normal around 12 $ each. The service was slow as hell even though we were the only 2 people in there, they have delivery food so that came first over our order. The waitress barely came back to check on us and was too busy talking to the delivery guys. I would not go there again or recommend eating here. They didn’t even know what nagori is… pffft really!

The food is really quite good and my husband and I used to get delivery from them about once a week but the last time we called them there was a problem. My husband placed and order and was told it would take ½ hour. Okay, no problem there. An hour went by and he called up to find out where our order was and the woman said that the guy was on his way. An hour and fifteen minutes after the initial phone call I called up to find out where our food was and the woman was very curt with me and told me that she never took the order. I don’t like when people lie to me or to my husband. I told her that they lost a customer and she couldn’t have cared less.

i see that people have already discovered the greatness of fuji sushi. well, i’ll just add to the glowing reviews with one of my own. i tried the salmon teriyaki lunch special today. where to start? the shumai was meh at best. the salad was a cup of iceberg lettuce, one slice of cucumber, and i think a sliver of carrot. the dressing was some creamy, thicker, milky looking version of ginger carrot sauce. after stirring and tasting it, i decided it was probably better in the garbage. the rice was long grain, dry, and over cooked. it would’ve been nice to have some japanese short grain, sticky rice but i guess when it’s just a chinese restaurant masquerading as a japanese restaurant, you can’t be picky. they actually gave me three menus(chinese, japanese, and thai) for that place. wtf? the california roll was a falling apart and a dried mess. worst california roll.ever. the teriyaki was ok. the portion was perfect for an infant. i guess i’ll hit the vending machine later or something. i thought they just opened since it was empty and so lousy, but i see that they’ve been around for a few years. i really have no idea how they stay in business with the quality, portions, and lack of any authenticity. i tried real hard to find something redeeming but i just can’t. they have no business pretending to be something other than a half-assed, takeout chinese restaurant.

Decent lunch special, three rolls and a salad for about ten bucks. I eat here once a week. You can sit and watch the chef make your roll right there.

Do not get your sushi from this place! I had delivery cause i needed a fix but this place just disappointed. I would have gone to pick it up but there is no address on the menu!(I found it in one of those neighborhood coupon packs) probably warning sigh #1. So to have a poor review when your just dropping off food is pretty bad. The delivery guy did not want to give me all my change which was weird, like he knew what he wanted for a tip. Then you got the rolls falling apart and the fish was not fresh. It made me mad that i needed a fix and this is what i ended up with. like the other guy said with a million places to get sushi this place should be at the bottom of your list.

2 of the 4 of us found foreign objects in our waters, to which George said, «Hey Dene, what did you get?» Bento boxes are worth it, but you shouldn’t even be going here, don’t take any recommendations. They advertise Free Sake on a sign outside, but there’s a catch. It’s one free small bottle per TABLE. So, the gay couple sitting across from us got one small bottle, the solitary man who’s date didn’t show got one small bottle, and our table of 4 got one small bottle. We were there till closing. By that time, the staff started with their dinner. I was so jealous. They had this delicious chopped up fish with the skin on it in some brown broth. I said to our waitress«That’s what I want! You should put it on the menu.» …“Not on the menu!“ Don’t they realize there are a thousand sushi places in NYC and 900 of them serve the same crap they are serving? If they would only serve the food they love to eat, they would get so much more business and their menu would have some integrity.
