Our focus is on the appropriate haircut for each man individually. We take into consideration the texture of hair, the way it falls, the face structure, the desired result, and make sure every cut is specialized and the final product is a natural style that is easy to maintain.

Before your cut, help yourself to a specialty beer on tap or a glass of Macallan. It is important to us that every client feels at home, enjoys the process, and walks out feeling and looking better.

A consultation before shampoo (so we can see the hair in its natural flow) is an integral part of our practice. With us, you’re not rolling the dice in a random barber’s chair. We pride ourselves on the ability to provide peace of mind knowing you are receiving the best men’s haircut in NYC.

History

Established in 2007.

Embodying her vision, Erica Fleischman created a personal and comfortable space, where men are catered to individually. Clients are invited to help themselves to a beer from the tap or a Macallan before heading to the chair for their cut. The idea was and continues to be that a man can feel at home here, a place he’d want to return to because the process is easy, the worry taken away, trust is gained. Clients who have been with the salon for 5 years or more are given a brass plaque on the bar at the salon… the bar has more than 100 plaques on it (we think that speaks for itself).

Business Owner

After graduating from Boston University with a degree in advertising, Erica found herself creatively constricted and lacking passion for her work. Erica’s decision to go to beauty school unleashed a desire for hairstyling deep inside her soul. She left her account management job to assist a well known hairstylist, then worked at Jean Claude Biguine, sharpening her skills. This organically led her to John Allan’s where her men’s grooming career was ignited. Recognizing that her talents and undeniable energy could be spent in an environment she could create herself, Fleischman, A Men’s Salon was born. The vision for an intimate men’s salon where each client would be catered to individually seemed practical, savvy and since her clients adored her and were incredibly loyal, opening her own business was a natural next step. 7 years and two salons later, Erica’s small but mighty brand has major power behind it, attracts incredibly talented mens hairstylist and continues to inspire her.
