Description

Specialties

I help performers and artists (or anyone!) who want to do the work they love without burning out or hurting themselves.

Some of the symptoms that resolve for my students are performance anxiety, loss of vocal resonance and power, loss of resilience as a performer, low back pain, shoulder and neck pain, patterns of chronic injury, RSI, asthma and breathing problems, and symptoms of arthritis.

I have three major areas of training which I refer to in working with my students: Alexander Technique, Breathing Coordination, and developmental movement patterning. I also provide written and recorded materials to assist students in making the most out of what they learn.

Meet the Business Owner

Clare M.

Business Owner

Clare became an Alexander Technique teacher after finding it to be the best physical, creative, and emotional support during her 30-year career as a professional dancer and choreographer. She graduated from The American Center for the Alexander Technique in 2000. She is currently leading workshops for Alexander teachers, performers, and psychotherapists in her own particular combination of Alexander Technique, developmental movement and breathing work. The basis of this work is inspired by the teaching, research and contributions of Joan and Alex Murray, Raymond Dart, Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen, Ruella Frank, Jessica Wolf, and many others. The work facilitates awareness, coordination, and integration of the whole person in the service of intentional action.
