This is NOT a destination pizza shop. This hole in the wall $ 0.99 pizza joint has saved me many a time when in need of a quick and super cheap meal. The pizza is step above frozen pizza and pretty much comperable to dominos… of coarse you can walk a few blocks and find a better slice but it ain’t $ 0.99 that’s for sure! 3 stars because it’s edible and not bad when it’s fresh out of the oven. I totally agree with another reviewer — fresh out of the oven and bubbling hot is WAY better than reheated slices sitting on the counter, so wait for a fresh pie to come out if you have time ;-) Bottom line. OHWHAT A BARGAIN!

Dry pie. No sauce. Bought last slice(from somewhere hidden). Texture and taste of a shoebox. Talkative staff.

My go-to pizza spot. You can’t beat their dollar slices, especially when they’re slathered with the buffalo hot sauce that’s available on their counter. I honestly can’t think of anything better to eat after a long night of drinking… or any day to be honest. The service is quick and the man at the counter usually does a pretty good job dealing with all the rambunctious customers. He’s awesome and I’ve never had any trouble. Anything with a topping is $ 0.50 extra and for an entire pie, it’s two dollars extra. A cheese pie is $ 8. It’s the same price as just getting pizza slice by slice as there are 8 slices in the pie. I’ve never had anything, but the pizza, but the menu holds wings and mozzarella sticks as well. Can’t beat this dollar slice!

So goddamn thick and buttery. Usually a little wary of places with the 99 cents label but this is one of the better dollar slices I’ve ever had in the city. Weeks later I still dream about that garlicky goodness.

These super nice pizza guys come through in a clutch! And no, I don’t always come here when desperately in need of food to soak up liquor. To me, in the $ 1 range, it’s an excellent ratio of bread, cheese, sauce, in that order. I’m not a sauce fanatic, ergo, those haters can step. But to be true, the pizza tastes much better when you get a slice straight from the oven; the piping hotness masks the lower quality ingredients. Let’s be honest, it’s a super quick bite to tide me over when I’m in a rush somewhere. The equivalent of my other guilty carb pleasure, McDonald’s small fries, which sadly are nowhere close to being just a dollar anymore here in the city despite bring prominently listed on the dollar menu.(tsk tsk) As long as these guys remain quick, clean, and open at all hours I need them, they are high on my list for being so convenient to home.

Awful pizza, even for 99 cents. Just walk one block up to Two Boots and you’ll thank yourself later.

This is some of the worst pizza I’ve ever had, even by 99 cent standards. I actually got a whole pie around 2am one night in an act of desperation. The worst part was that they used almost no sauce, so in addition to not tasting good it was bone dry. I had two bites and threw the whole thing out.

There’s a reason the place is open until 4am serves 99c slices — it caters to a very particular audience(the starving drunks), and it does so in an ever so flawless manner. Not sure quality of pizza is of utmost importance when you’re belligerent, have a single in your pocket, and stumble onto this Holy Grail. A dollar slice is a dollar slice.

After a few too many drinks at the DoubleDown one needs a quick carb boost, luckily this place is soo damn close to the bar that you don’t have to stumble too much!!! Pizza was good, I don’t know what other people are complaining about, it’s 99 cents dammit!!! And when you have had a few too many drinks it’s goinna be awesome(hence my 4 stars). I will definitely come here again!!!

Small hole in the wall pizza parlor. The pizza here is bland. Barely any sauce. Very little amount of low quality cheese. We don’t think it’s worth it even for a buck. This place is more like a place that you stop by after a night of drinking, hammered, hungry, looking for a quick bite to eat. You probably won’t even remember it the next day…

Absolute garbage, don’t know about other pizza they have, but their dollar pizza is just a waste of money. Came at 11:00pm on a Monday, place was empty but still had to wait a few minutes for a new pizza. When I got it piping hot I found the cheese to taste basically like plastic, the sauce was near absent, and the dough was just bland carbs. It’s one of the few dollar pizza places in east village, but I’d honestly rather walk an extra few blocks for my late night dollar pizza fix than try this place again.

GREAT dollar slice! Mind you, the five stars is a rating based within the world of dollar slice pizza joints, not all pizza joints. This place is great because they offer two things that no 2 Bros. offers: hot sauce and parmesan cheese, which is such a simple thing but goes a long way. Great place for a dollar slice.

You are drunk. Let me type that again. You are seriously hammered. You’re probably going to do a lot of things you’ll regret tomorrow evening(because no way in hell are you waking up anytime before 6pm). Yeah, you’re probably gonna hook up with that person. Yeah, you’re probably gonna wind up with a tattoo on your face. Yeah, you’re going to puke in that alley. Yeah, you’re going to drink even more. Yeah, you’re going to sing that song way off-tune at karaōke. Yeah, you’re going to make that awkward confession of love which is met with stone cold, uncomfortable silence. Yeah, you’re going to lose $ 30. You know what you won’t do? You won’t regret stopping here to grab a slice or two to soak up all that alcohol. Yeah, you’ve been working out like DeNiro in Taxi Driver and your diet over the past 2 weeks has been akin to a hamster’s, but it’s okay to cheat a bit(just a bit) and let these(albeit small) slices absorb all those shots you had earlier in the night. Feel a bit better? Good, now you can go back to drink some more.

Your basic emergency dollar slice. Super piping hot. I had just left a subterranean club around the corner, and all I could think of was food. Thank you dollar kings!

This is good $ 1 pizza. It also has a great location, I usually stop here between drinking at a few nearby establishments. The guy here is fast and friendly. There is no seating but do you really need it? Eat your slice while you walk to the next bar. However, they don’t mind if you stand around and eat, I’ve done this plenty when it is really cold out.
