Euphorie Cosmetics

There should be a way to give zero stars because this place is not worthy of recognition! Every woman loves cosmetics, but not when they come with a deceitful presentation and so many lies — Read the reviews, not just mine, and make a decision — Better Business Bureau has them rated with an «F» — That should speak for itself!
Sales pitch starts in the doorway of the store or at one of their kiosks in the Stamford Mall… beware…run don’t walk… or you will become victim to their relentless sales process. First they try to hook you into a product that is $ 400 or more but today «just for you» it is at a very special price and comes with a «free facial» but you have to make an appointment for that with one of their specialists. In any other reputable salon when you are offered a free facial (which normally is never less than an hour of pure treatment, and relaxation), you can decide after the facial if you would like to purchase any of the products used that day on your skin. Not so at Euphorie!
«Salesgirl comes out and says, I am really excited because we have a person very high up in the company who just so happens to be here today in our store for a short period of time. (She is checking the store out because it just opened — found out later it opened 8 months ago) She is the expert of the stars (you know Ellen DeGeneres, Wendy…) and she is the most knowledgeable person on all our products. I don’t know if she has the time do your facial, but I am going to ask for you– and beg a little to see if she will do it» –Salesgirl leaves, comes back out and says «she is on the phone but she nodded that she might be able to do it… I am so excited for you because you will have the best of the best to do your facial» I noticed at that time there were no other store employees in the store, only this salesperson, and now «the facial queen of the stars» is going to do my «facial» — so where was the person who was supposed to do my facial if this important person had not shown up. The salesgirl told me she was new and learning so she had to take notes.
The facial queen does half your face, they both sell you on how great you look… leave you with half face done and begin their relentless high pressured sales pitch — telling you about their $ 12,000 membership program, and if you can’t do that they have packages at $ 3,000 and $ 5,000 –asking how much you can afford to spend –causing embarrassment for the customer to have to come up with a number, constant pressuring without stopping and then telling you how much of a discount they will give you. But «please don’t tell anyone else, this is just for you, and can only be gotten at this moment because I am the only one who can approve this discount» — Meanwhile you are wondering and asking are they going to finish this so-​called facial which is really just a demonstration of a face mask cream which takes less than ten minutes. When you finally get out of there, you are totally stressed out from trying to escape this pressure pot of sales pitch.
Many, many, reviewers experienced the same exact reenactment of my visit to this store — too many exact scenarios to be false! If you want be tortured take them up on this «not for free facial» — otherwise, say NO at the door and save yourself the stress! These people should be run out of business!

Totally pulled in — pushy and before I knew it had eye serum smeared under one eye. Immediately felt wrong and asked her to take it off — it has created puffiness where there wasn’t. The treated eye looks worse than the one not touched — worried that I am stuck with this until this garbage wears off. STAY AWAY!!!

I’m not really here to give a review on the product, I have not applied it just yet. I want to say that these Unilocal reviews really didn’t help me. I agree that they push hard to sell, but no one here is really talking about the actual product. Does it work?! Is it worth it?! I don’t care about the sales tactics. Please provide some real reviews so that I can decide if I want to return it or not.

Just say NO. Luckily I am not intimidated by the tactics here. It sort of gave me pleasure after being lured in to say no, no and NO! She did one eye and I kept asking if she was gonna do the other side as promised or what? She ignored me. They can be relentless, but so can I! I wasn’t leaving with only one eye covered in cream, I’m too OCD for that. It was obvious she was holding out on doing the other side so that I wouldn’t leave — at one point saying «I get the feeling you don’t trust me» — HAA what tipped you off! She finally did the other side after she figured out I wasn’t into her hard pitch, then I left. Don’t forget you can walk out at ANYTIME — and you should!

Just like everybody else I was pulled into the store. A young sales girl almost immediately start putting her magical serum under my eyes… long story short. She made me an offer from retail $ 700 down to $ 200 plus some cream for free. Yeah right. I declined. And walked out of the store. Would never spend this much without research. And now about 20min later my skin feels and looks like it is covered with Elmers Glue. Enough said. Oh. Btw. I was not suppose to tell anyone about this amazing one time ever offer for $ 200. Right. Scam

So … I agree with all the bad reviews … they shove the product down your throat with (((((it’s our anniversary))))) and we will give you all this for free if you buy this one product for 400 $ … and the part that I really hated was the act after I bought the product … the lady says … oh I have this lady that came from Las Vegas only for 2 days she will give you a face lift that worth 250 $ but coz you are a vip customer it’s for free … but … I see in the mirror the winks before they raise their voices so I could hear the lady saying: oh I have a paying customer who paid for my flight to come and give her facial treatment and she is coming in 10 minutes but only for you I will see this guy …
So she comes and puts products on half of my face and I knew from the beginning that’s it’s an act I told her I’m happy with what I got … so when she lost hope she stopped but didn’t finish the other half of my face and when I told her to finish it off she just used some crappy cream on the other half and said done … SHE SPENT OVER 20 MINUTES WITH ME AND THIS IMAGINARY PAYING CUSTOMER THAT SHE WAS TALKING ABOUT DIDN’T SHOW UP
Guys … I understand you wanna sell your products but not like this … even if this was the best products in the world I will still never buy it coz of the way you sell it …

Like others I was also convinced to walk in off the street… since I had some time on my hands as well as retail experience. I let them do their thing… the women guiding me through the process was very professional with her eye towards both representing the brand as well as making a sale. applied the hand exfoliant getting rid of dead skin cells. and applied serum to eye bags… I can attest that the product works as a month later there is still a reduction of the bags under my eyes… it was my lucky day as the product normally $ 700 online could be had for $ 350…knowing a little about the cosmetics industry my guess the product cost is somewhere between $ 30-​$ 50 factoring in marketing and packaging with salesperson making 20−25% commission. still a pretty hefty markup.
Having said that. just walk into Saks, Bloomingdales or Bergdorf… prices most likely are just as high for similar serums.

Euphorie is of course French for «well being». The New Yorkese for Euphorie is Eu are Phucking Annoying. I walk by here every work day as I have done for over a year. Of course by now they recognize me and they know full well I am never going to take their free sample and be lured into their cosmetic coven. Because they know that, it only makes them more aggressive, abrasive and intentionally intrusive.
The gypsy pickpockets at the Porta Portese flea market in Rome are less belligerent than these parasites.

This is a very late review… back in June I walked past the store during lunch. Though I said no to their free samples, one of the salesmen was very persuasive and got me into the store. I had no intention to buy anything but he was extremely persistent and started long demonstrations of different products. In the end, I paid 200 dollars on couple of products (that supposedly were almost half off coz I was such a nice customer), just so I could get away. And of course I found out afterwards that they could be purchased online much cheaper. So beware, the sales people there are pushy and will use a combination of flattery, aggressiveness and guilt-​tripping you to try/​buy their products that are way overpriced.

I swear by the Euphorie peel! Before discovering this product, my skin was constantly dry with dead skin & blackheads around my nostrils. After the first use I felt like I was reborn — my skin was soft like a baby’s! I hope that the product is never discontinued, as I would not know what to do without it! The staff is also very friendly, knowledgeable & not overly pushy. They seem to really care about their clients and recommend the best products.

Such amazing service and products! My favorite product is the euphorie peel! I not only use it on my skin but on my lips, especially when the weather gets colder.

Entering DD and the guy hands me a sample, so I take it. Leaving DD he goes, I have another sample inside and I’m like alright, sure. He applies the exfoliater cream on my hand and makes the dead skin cells (or maybe just the cream) come off like little fat worms. Then he applies the cream on both hands, showing how the hand without using the exfoliater did not absorb cream very well (my hand was still fairly white-​covered by the cream). So, it seems like a good product.
«Today is anniversary, 70% from $ 200 to $ 60.» I’m like ok, thanks!
I obviously need to do research on a skincare product before buying it. I exit and go to Google and Unilocal is the first thing I see with all these BAD BAD BAD reviews. Haha.
Be wary of samples…

The people that work here are the worst. Full disclosure: I’ve never shopped here and I never will. However, I walk pass the storefront every day on my way to grab lunch. Today was particularly bad. But before I explain what happened today, let me explain what a typical passerby experiences – not just me.
As you approach the storefront, you’ll immediately notice that there are two to three employees standing out front wearing black and white and they are aggressively attempting to shove flyers and samples into passers-by’s hands. The approach seems effective for one type of demographic: tourists. This is midtown so there are about a dozen hotels within blocks of this busy corner including the Waldorf Astoria. They seem to feed off of the gullibility of these tourists because those are the only types of people that I notice that end up inside of their small store. However, they don’t only pursue tourists. They blindly and aggressively harass everyone that walks by by shoving flyers in their faces and begging them to come inside to try their products.
They are some of the most aggressive and annoying individuals I’ve ever encountered. The bridge and tunnel type that no one wants to be around. The bros and lady bros with fake tans, layers of makeup, the kind of guys that take longer to get ready than the women do, the type of people that ‘pre-​game’ with energy drinks and vodka before going to a club, the kind of people that, well… could have been in the cast of Jersey Shore. They’re basically the worst.
On this particular occasion today, I was harassed by one of the males outside the store:
Guy: [as he’s shoving a flyer in my face] Welcome to New York
Me: [As I pass by] I’m clearly not a tourist [I’m wearing a suit and tie]. I’m on my lunch break. I see you all the time and I don’t want your products.
Guy: [in a whiny, mocking tone as if he was speaking for me] Buuuut I’m frooommm Neewww Yoorrrk.
Guy and Two Girls: collective laughter
I really did not expect the employees to stoop to mocking potential customers. It’s completely unreal. The flyers are one thing. But mockery and laughter directed to pedestrians is a whole other level of disrespect and harassment that no one should have to tolerate. For your own sake, do not go anywhere near this place. Cross the street if you have to.

Yep! If you have read the reviews below, then you know what I’m going to say…
The Euphorie on 836 7^th Ave. is manned by pleasant and friendly, but manipulative, pushy sales people selling so-​so products. Products being sold at this price-​point, simply don’t operate like this! The products smell ok, they seem to maybe work, and they are reasonably well presented (velvet covered cardboard boxes and such…
And, yes, if you protest enough… say «no» enough — the prices start falling. «Today only, because I like you, %50 off!» In my case, when all was said and done, (if you actually believe the «discounted» prices printed on the receipt) I paid $ 500 for $ 1,250 worth of skin products — six items, total.
I was offered a free facial. Only 10 mins. The facial specialist complimented me on my skin — I’m sure these are standard scripted lines that they say to everyone –she repeated no more than half a dozen times «This product is just like giving your facial muscles a work out!». She asked me what skin products I was using — I said Perricone products and you would think I had just said battery acid and Crisco. She was so quick to let me know what a horrible thing I was doing to my face and the atrocities of using Perricone — when only moments earlier she was telling me how impressed she was with my skin. Trashing the competition. To be expected I suppose.
Every interaction is a sales pitch, disguised as friendly banter. Lesson learned. I will give the products a try. The facial treatment did seem to tighten my face, but I refused to buy anything more. If the products work — cool. And if they don’t work, I’ve paid for the education.
Bottom line: Hopefully the products will make good on their claims — but the hard sell tactics of the sales staff undermines the products credibility. If it’s so good, why do you have to drag me off the street, hard sell me, and keep dropping the prices when I say no? Shouldn’t the product sell itself? Something simply doesn’t add up when you deal with this store.

I wasn’t going to write a review. but after reading everyone else’s I felt compelled to.
Walked by here after a school meeting, in a rush and the guy grabs my arm, BIG NO NO, I went to snap and he offered me free sample of body cream, cool, thanks BYE!
Oh no «Let me give you a face cream sample» Sure, I said but then he grabs my arm and leads me inside -.-
Tommy Starts grabbing my arm, trying the whole flirty salesman technique. At this point I’m more annoyed because it was so obvious you are trying to set up for a sale.
The only reason I’ll give it one star is the eye serum he put on one of my eyes, seems like it does work.
He then tried oh it’s $ 500 but today ONLY today it’s half off. No.
What if I offer you this and one «free» cream? No.
What if I make a special deal, juuust for you? NO.
Wayyyy to pushy, I use professional products like dermalogica and eminence, and all the guy did was try to bad mouth the competition — which is NATURAL and still cheaper than those sketchy products. Honestly it looked like a store that is there today, and gone tomorrow after they’ve scammed enough gullible people out of hundreds.

The Seven-​Second Pitch.
This place is located roughly where Marilyn Monroe’s famed Subway grate scene happened in the movie «The Seven Year Itch». However, interacting with this establishment might be the polar opposite New York experience. I live in the area and you cannot walk by this place, ever, without being hassled. They don’t just offer you a free lotion sample, but they interrupt you and get in your face about it.
Memo to Euphorie: the vast majority of New Yorkers do not want free samples. They just want to get from point ‘A’ to point ‘B’ in peace. Leave us alone for the good of the city. I hear the high-​pressure pitch continues when you enter the establishment. Terrible. In full disclosure, I have never stepped foot inside for obvious reasons. Regardless, those in the lotion and fragrance market should avoid this establishment and go to a more relaxed store.

They have this location in NY and also have a little kiosk booth in Stamford CT mall.
I had a make-​over and was working my way through the mall and this kiosk grabbed me as I was trying to head into a store in the middle of the kiosks. I was extremely annoyed beause I don’t have a job right now and I really couldn’t spend the money on my husbands credit card either. They forced a sample into my hand and then talked about «this is my family’s business, you gotta hellp, please» and then asked if I could pay in cash… and I didn’t even want to buy anything! But the guy was extremely pushy and kept complimenting me and being flirty. Eventually I gave in but would not pay for anything at that extremely ridiculous price they were trying to push!!! I wound up being forced into buying stuff but was half the original suggested price. Crooks.

This is the hard sell… No, they are not unpleasant but in sales the end game is for you to buy something. Alas, they hadn’t met me until the other night.
Walking down Lex I was given a free hand cream sample & asked if I’d like to see their other wares. I’m game.
All the blah, blah, blah 10mins later I said thanks but No, Thanks! Very pleasant people but I cannot stand sales persons trying to hype up a product as the second coming when it isn’t.
Give this place a swerve solely for the hard sell tactics alone… the mediocre products put the nail in the coffin.

Ew! I was clearly fooled by those products! employees have outstanding sales skills. I was walking in Lexington avenue when they gave me a sample, I was all casual looking on my way to school with backpack and no fancy clothes on. I did showed interest in the sample and asked if they have facial samples, the guy lead my way to the inside of the store and the same experience of everybody repeated itself, starting from rubbing my hand with this magical exfoliating cream to trying to sell it to me for 200 $ (after getting my profile checked, knowing that I am a middle eastern that lives in UES and can probably afford it)
after I insisted of taking a sample and only try it, cause I have sensitive skin, the sales lady call this Arabic guy calling himself «kobis» to convince me it seems, he was like «this is my family business and I will give you my price» and being all flirty, I didn’t buy his blabbing, his family business and standing outside the store while snowing to give out samples, HOW HUMBLE!
anyways, I had the vibe that I was being fooled but 60 $ for a 200 $ product wasn’t bad for something I liked, and I did told them I will be returning it if it caused any irritation or it didn’t work, they agreed with confidence and a smile. I purchased it to only discover that «sales are final, no refunds and you can only exchanges» …
their magical exfoliate cream is not as it seems, using it on your face didn’t leave it as soft and soft as rubbing it on my hand.

Extremely aggressive and pushy sales people. They really try their hardest to get you to spend money (and lots of it). They lure you in and try to use every sales tactic possible to get you: «Okay okay I give you my price»… «I have this special just for you»… «I know how much your bag costs– this is not expensive»… «This is a luxury brand, we don’t give samples»… Don’t fall for it. Haha!
The place is unkept with dirty tissues and garbage on the counters and floor. The facial «room» behind the curtains in the back looks ghetto and dirty.
As for the products — I can’t say anything about them since I didn’t buy anything.
