History

Established in 2004.

In a city full of salons and spas, Eruan is unique. Since opening in 2004, Eruan has established itself as a fashion-​forward yet affordable salon where everyday New Yorkers can come to get a taste of high style. The best thing about Eruan, though, is the sense of community you feel as soon as you walk in the door — in a very impersonal city full of snooty, overpriced salons and haircut shops where the staff changes each week, Eruan stands out as a real family. Most of the 20 staffers have been with the salon since it opened, and many of them have worked with the owners, Jack and Jose, for years. All of this contributes to a comfortable and fun environment that keeps clients coming back year after year.

In 2004, two talented young stylists, Jack and Jose, decided they wanted to open their own spa and salon. Tired of working in impersonal spots that took both the staff and clients for granted, J&J envisioned a new kind of salon — one where a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere put clients at ease and allowed stylists to exercise their creativity.

Today Eruan is a thriving, full-​service spa which fulfills the owners’ orginal vision — and which continues to attract a savvy clientele looking for great, modern styling a reasonable price. As you can imagine, Eruan has perhaps the most loyal client base of any salon in NYC; their recent anniversary party drew hundreds of happy customers who loved the opportunity to mingle (and drink!) with their stylists after hours. There is no other salon that successfully creates such a strong feeling of community and fun.
