TERRIBLE! I wish I could give it zero stars. I got a facial which was quite lovely and the lady who did it was excellent. HOWEVER, the customer service is APPALLING! I noticed several days later that my credit card had been charged an additional $ 146 which I called immediately about. They simply replied that they charged my card for my sisters facial!!! (Even though she used a gift card which covered the entire facial plus tip and had 60 cents left over on it). I explained that to them and they were very rude and accusing. They told me they had NO record of that. Which is not true at all because we even had to sign a receipt for the gift cards. This was a disgrace. They told me they would look into it. I never received a call back so I called again the following day and spoke to ANOTHER manager and they weren’t helpful either. They told me they would «investigate» and call me back. Which of course they did not return my call yet again. Finally, my mother called again and demanded to speak to the manager again who said they were looking into it and would call again. Did they call back? Nope of course not. My mother then called for the 4th time saying she would NOT hang up until they refunded my card and apologize for causing us so much stress. They agreed to refund the card but were very unhelpful and barely even said they were sorry. I was not given anything nor did I receive any apology after all of that. DO NOT WASTE your money here. They need to get their act together and learn to appreciate and help customers out.

Probably the worst spa experience I have had in a while. Our original appointments were over the snowstorm and nobody called to let us know whether they would be rescheduled. I had to call twice before I decided to cancel and was told they tried to call «most» guests but we were left in limbo. First example of staff acting as though they want to help but no service recovery, as we had to ask to reschedule after we cancelled appointments.
Facilities are nice, husband’s service was fine, but 25 minutes into an 80 minute massage I hear very loud chatter that lasted for the next hour. The therapist tried to turn up the white noise but it didnt help. Staff was aware of this when we checked out (therapist told them) but didn’t bring it up until I mentioned it, then asked us to wait while they «took care of it.» We waited for 15 minutes before I was finally offered a 20% discount on my service — when more than half of it was ruined. Ines at the front desk is basically useless at solving client problems and finally told me that I could have another 20% off the same service next time and «maybe it would be more quieter.» Who would get a long massage that would not be in a quiet dark room? When I asked if I could use the discount on another service, the answer was no. Apparently everyone had issues that day because as we were checking out the two people to my list were all getting discounts and apologies on their services and someone else’s service got skipped entirely. My husband’s room was pin drop quiet and had a huge tub so make sure you request a quiet room.

watch your credit card statement!!! Incompetent staff charged us twice and it took 4 phone calls get them to see the error and remove the charge.
My mother, sister and I all had made appointments to get facials at the red door spa. My sister and I were taken in on time while my mother sat there for 25 minutes waiting past the appointment time. When she complained they said the lady that was supposed to be doing her facial had accidentally taken in someone else and asked if she could come back another day (?!) she said no and then they suggested she just get a manicure instead (?!). 15 more minutes passed and she got her facial and they gave her $ 20 off, which was nice but really we would have preferred to have the service we paid for at the time we made the appointment.
I paid for my service using a gift card, which covered it in full. Four days later, my sister realized that on HER credit card, there was a charge for the full amount of my facial, in addition to the charge for hers. She called to ask why and they said it was for my facial. She pointed out that I had paid with a gift card and they rudely told her they had no record of that. They were rude and unhelpful.
FORTUNATELY my gift card was electronic, so I still had the emailed copy of it. But it took two more phone calls to have a manager admit their error and finally match up the gift card number to the service. There was a mumbled «sorry for the trouble» and there wasn’t even an offer to make things right by offering my sister something for her trouble.
If I had a regular (physical) gift card, instead of an electronic one, we would have paid for the facial twice because I wouldn’t have still had the record of the gift card number. BEWARE the incompetence and rudeness of this staff. There are much better spas in NYC.

So disappointed with the Olive Oil pedicure I got here. The whole experience was poor. The chair was broken so I kept sliding backward, until finally I decided to lean forward in order to stay put.
My foot was under scrubbed in some spots and over scrubbed in others. I had to put a band-​aid on it because one spot was so red and in pain from the scrubbing. T
The lady left for about 10 minutes while I just sat in the chair and waited for her return. The sides of my most of my toes had no polish, indicating a quick job, which it was. I’m not even sure if you can count the 2 minute massage as a massage — felt more like just putting on moisturizer quick.
When the pedicure finished, they brought me to a freezing cold waiting room. I waited there for 45 minutes for my toes to dry. Nobody came to check on me, to put clear wrap over my toes before putting on my shoes, or to help put on shoes.
All in all if, it was a $ 30 pedicure, fine. For $ 90 it was very upsetting and a complete waste to travel the distance and pay that high a price.

I was given a gift certificate for a facial and due to illness, I was long overdue (generally get them monthly).
The spa is very nice… nice pre-​facial «quiet room» with water and fruit. The facial room was also nice with a warm adjustable table.
The aestitician did a good job and gave me recommendations. She also tried to sell me treatments and products but, I wasn’t interested.
After the facial there was a complementary make-​up application… a very nice bonus.
The reason I’m giving this 4 stars instead of 5 is that I don’t think the result was any better than «my usual place» which, I pay half the price.
But, for a relaxing treat, I highly recommend!

Excellent service, very well located on Union Square. I went to see my hair stylist Tim Wandry who just moved from Cutler to Red Door, he’s the best, I only trust my hair to him. I’m glad he is now at Red Door, such a nice salon.

Very disappointed with their service. Went to get the red door facial and it was more like the DO NOTHING AND UP SELL facial. They just spoke forever then took out 3 blackheads out and put tons of lotions and crap on my face with actually made it dry.
It was very surprising because I read so many great reviews but left hating that I paid so much money for a service I could have gotten at my dermatologist.

Had my hair cut and styled by Miyuki, and she is definitely worth it. Love my style which is exactly what I’ve been trying to get for the longest time. Yes, in the past Billy, followed by Azir, were both excellent, but oh my goodness, as of today’s date, December 2015, Miyuki has put them both to shame! Miyuki is now my go-​to stylist at Red Door Spa. The staff told me that Miyuki has only been with Red Door for the past few months, welcome Miyuki I’m very happy that you are now part of the Red Door Spa family.

I am late in providing my experience but here it is.
Had the following treatments on 17 Oct 2015 and was not impressed at all:
–desert hot stone massage
–warm cream manicure/​pedicure
–shampoo blow dry and finish
Here’s my experience. The massage room was very bright and the black out curtains didn’t help as a massage room is supposed to be dark and relaxing. The masseuse in my opinion was not experienced with hot stone treatments. I filled out their guest– pre-​treatment form and indicated I was highly allergic to latex yet when I went for my mani/​pedi I still had to notify them as they were unaware (why did I fill it out)?? The waiting/​relaxing room was not relaxing at all as guests waiting for their treatments were talking very loud and too many conversations. The bathrooms– ugggh the showers had mildew and it just didn’t feel clean. Red Door– you need a total overhall here. The only good thing about my day was the shampoo & blow out at the end but that’s about it. I rather go to Bliss or Equinox to have a better experience.

The 5th avenue location is confidentially located between an upscale Chocolat & luxury fashion brand.
After being checked in they take you a place to change & relax with tea or water before your services begin.
The spa is very quiet and relaxing. The ropes and slippers provided are plush and comfortable.
On this day I chose a day spa package (I highly recommend this approach) so that I could get to know each of the services to see if I wanted to return.
My massage, facial & manicure were stellar. The skin aesthetician Elena did a wonderful job and losing my skin and providing suggestions by way of extra services to assist with skin that was travel worn and dry.
My massage therapist John was thoughtful to my needs and a great listener.
Iwona my manicurist didn’t try to make me color my nails (something I prefer not to do) Great suggestions of nail strengthening products and the clear-​coat. This manicure lasted much longer than I thought it would.
Decided to add onto hair service and had a wash and blow out from Kristina – she didn’t excellent job and got me out in a timely fashion.
The services might be a tad expensive, but they are worth it!
I’m definitely going to make a return trip to this location.

Had a FANTATSTIC 80 min massage with LUMI, what a God send. I’ve been suffering from sciatic pain down my leg, and a tired back/​shoulder from being glued to my computer at work — and LUMI was the perfect Masseuse to ail the pain. Would greatly recommend her healing hands and caring demeanor, what a lovely masseuse. If it weren’t for the $ 250 price, I would go to her religiously every month.

I’m not sure why this place got bad reviews, but I’m basing mine off of the massage I received from Chantel.
I got the Swedish massage. Normally, I get deep tissue but I just wanted to relax and my back was so sore. She managed to take out all the knots in my problem area. Although it was relaxing, 50 minutes of it was wayyyy too short.
The bathroom was so nice though. Individual showers with a tiny space to change felt so private.
I’d definitely come back.

I have been going to these pro-​ladies to do my hair for the past 13 years…
I absolutely LOVE my Colorist Hitomi and Stylist Miyuki there.
I tried going to different salon time to time, but I always end up coming back to Hitomi & Miyuki to fix my hair after gone to other salons.
Colorist Hitomi is the person who invented the coloring method called «Foilyage» that is hot on the magazines and web worldwide right now. If you want it done, go to her!
I ALWAYS get so much compliment after getting my hair color done with Hitomi…
She always brings out the best of my hair color. Looks so natural but current and elegant finish. I love it every time she does my color. She even switch up my color slightly to suit for the seasons.
The best part is that Hitomi does her highlights so well that my loots aren’t even visible after few months of getting it done… it just looks so naturally blended to my original hair color. I don’t know how she does it, but I can’t tell you enough how perfect it is when the hair gets longer after few months.
I’d definitely keep going back to Hitomi for my color. She has the best eyes and technique for colors and highlight!!! I strongly recommend her to anyone.

My sister bought me a red door signature mani and pedi for my birthday. So I went yesterday. Although the work was good, I was disappointed in the service and bedside manners of the staff. Each service is to last an hour and 15 minutes. My technician raced through the process. She spent a lot of time on my right side, but breezed through my left side.
My appointment was for 4:00 pm, but i got there at 3:30, so i relaxed in the relaxation lounge. My technician came for me at 3:50 but lied and put down that she took me at 3:30 when I complained to the manager. The manager was kind of snarky. He gave me a $ 15 gift certificate for «next time».
There was this one Russian woman who had horrible bed side manners. She yelled at customers and acted like she was joking. There were 3 women talking loudly in the relaxation lounge. The relaxation lounge is supposed to be quiet. Anyway, I dont know if I would go back.

Awesome massage by Stuart. Just right. So good. The spa has some nice amenities and a rooftop terrace that’s cool. The locker lady in the bathrooms was kind but they can do a better job with stocking the lockers and showers with necessary items. I would come again. Thanks to my great husband who hooked this up for my bday :)

Emm I’m rather disappointed to be honest. My therapist was rather cold and not welcoming. My 50-​minute massage turned out to be only 30minutes. She left the room in the middle, only to come back in 2 minutes to tell me «you have to go now, I have other client waiting.»
She didn’t accompany me to the changing room nor the resting area.
The massage itself was okay because she was rushing it all the way. There wasn’t any sort of contact.
First time and last time. I don’t think I will go back nor recommend it to anyone else.

I came here today for a olive oil manicure around 645pm which was closing time for them. It was not worth it. The technician that I had was probably new she didn’t even have a name tag and while my hands were soaking, some guy came to to take pictures of her (I’m guess for her profile pic for the company?)
So first she shapes them and cuts the cuticles, she was pretty gentle. But she clearly left a lot of it because after she painted the nail polish you can see the bumpiness under the polish. I pointed it out 3x. But she couldn’t seem to get them… I gave up.
The scrub and massage cream part literally took two mins then she put the paraffin wrap on for about 10 mins (maybe less) there was so massage part at all. Unless you call the applying the cream part as a massage…
I honestly feel you can get a better mani at any other place. I had expected that at least the polish to come out nice. Save your money and go somewhere else.
