If you’re a worshipper of mid-20th century design, then don’t forget to pop over to Donzella, in TriBeCa. This baroque furnishings store, just across the street from the Tribeca Grand Hotel, flaunts a precious collection. I especially loved a pair of glass cubes with a painted horse scene by Beverly Hills-based designer Paul Laszlo, a 1966 swiveling mirror by Sergio Mazza and a sculptural brass lamp in the shape of a plant by Tommaso Barbi. Also remarkable: on the left wall you’ll see a set of large prints by Venezuelan photographer Jonas Hidalgo. They depict massive slices of fresh fruit as a symbol of the vulnerabily of physical perfection.
