I wish I had nice things to say about this place but I do not. I found an apartment using one of the thousands of apartment finding apps. I came across an apartment that I thought might be a good fit. So I contacted the person listing and within a day or so I had an appointment to view the apartment. When I saw the apartment I loved it! It was a great location, nice and spacious and I quickly fell in love with it. Nailah Graves-​Mann was the person I worked with, and after viewing the apartment and talking it over with my boyfriend we decided that it was perfect and we wanted to take it. Unfortunately that was not to be. Nailah told us that she would forward an application that night. That never happened. Finally the next day she texts me asking if we could afford an amount that was not in our budget. When I said no she then proceeds to tell me «I’m trying to work on the landlords but to be honest their bedroom is right below and they really want one person who is never home!» What?! Then do not rent the apartment out! However Nailah insisted she would send us an application anyway. Let me check… nope 4 days later and still no application. A phone call or text would have been nice. My experience with this company was somewhat unprofessional. I understand that things happen, and perhaps Nailah became busy, however there is just a certain way to treat potential clients, especially those who will be taking their hard-​earned money and paying 15% of the annual rent in broker fees. Smh.

I worked with Larry Bogante and was beyond floored with his service. Myself and my 2 other roommates pretty much had unreasonable demands… move in june 1 (when EVERYONE wants to move), 3 TRUE bedrooms, NO flex room, HUGE living area… and in union square for around 6K. Oh yeah and with a dog. This is essentially impossible, but we were determined to find the perfect apartment. Larry would search constantly for us and always found openings and showings first.
In 2 weeks we found a place BETTER than what we had even dreamed of (under budget??? what!!!), and throughout the entire application process (on a Saturday) he made himself readily available to us and explained everything in the application, got us the keys to the place a week early, etc etc.

My roommate and I had been looking at apartments in Manhattan with other brokers and management companies before Talia Schwartz reached out to us. We were very disappointed with their professionalism, honesty, and ability to take our wants and requirements for our apartment into considerations. Talia possesses all of the qualities and more, even though she’s a brand new realtor. Talia was punctual and came prepared to each showing. She was also highly transparent through the process, and gave us advice and suggestions as if she was looking for a place for herself. She would look at places in advance to see if it was worth our time, and even FaceTime-​ed me at work briefly to show me an apartment that we might have been interested in. We’re so happy to have found our apartment and thankful Talia was there to help us!

I recently moved to NYC and i was a little overwhelmed at first ahopping for an apartment. I resorted to using a broker even though i had been advised against it. I met my broker Oniel Williams and was absolutely amazed by his professional expertise and ability to materialize my needs to haves. He diligently laid out a plan to visit apartments at night after my hectic schedule and showed me a range of apartmemts to find my happy-​medium in price and amenities. He was able to help negotiate the price to a more than affordable ramge with everything that i wanted in the exact are i wanted. He has followed up since to make sure i was happy. I absolutely could not have been happier with my outcome. It was money well spent and i would advise anyone moving to look into working with him for a nonpressured tailored experience.

I very recently relocated to NYC from the west coast to work at NBCUniversal. During the hiring process they referred me to DJK Residential. I reached out online and was immediately contacted by an agent. Ivan Torres was fantastic to work with! He listened carefully to what I was looking for and thoughtfully crafted choices for me to view while out here for just a couple of days. Once we found the spot, he worked diligently to speed up the process and advocate for me both on rent and move in date. He was professional, friendly, and came through 100%. He took all of my calls, texts, and panicked emails and immediately eased all concerns. The added bonus? He’s also a licensed tour guide filled with historical and architectural knowledge… and had the best restaurant tips! I would highly recommend Ivan and DJK Residential.

My girlfriend and I recently relocated internationally to New York. Sindi Schorr from DJK was assigned to us as both a broker and general guide to help us settle in to the city.
Our experience with Sindi was great, from orienting us with New York, helping us get cell numbers, setting up bank accounts and most importantly, finding us a great apartment.
Sindi was very helpful before we even arrived in NYC, sending us sample apartments in our price range. Once we arrived, Sindi made the apartment hunting process fun rather than daunting, and on a single day showed us heaps of apartments in our price range and in our preferred neighbourhood. Finally finding us a great place right where we wanted to live.
We would not hesitate recommending Sindi to anyone looking to find real estate in NYC.

First off, my boyfriend and I looked at Craigslist, to which we later found out is full of many ads that are scam.
We ended up with a great 1 bedroom, separate large living room and separate kitchen (decent size) for 2g/​month… and no pet fee. It’s a 5 story walk up but the location in the UES is great.
Our Realtor was Carol Armstrong.
If you’re looking for patience and a fun time while seriously looking for a place, she is THE ONE to work with.
First off, after calling between 15 to 20 brokers, all of which we looked up through Unilocal,almost all didn’t call back or fell through. Many said they would call back which they didn’t or in cases, never answered.
Carol, however, responded promptly… she took the initiative to even point out a listing within 2 hours of our call to her.
A few days later, I met her and wasn’t so impressed with the first apartment but she was prepared with printouts of multiple locations.
It was nice to have choices and an agent who was by our side and fighting for us. We think very highly of her. She was persistent in our search.
After 5 viewings, one stood out in the East Village.
With the proper paperwork, our application was submitted for approval.
In the meantime, on another day, Carol showed other listings. The apartment we ended up with definitely stood out.
Finding an apartment is a difficult thing to do but don’t stress out. You will have choices… maybe not as many as you would think BUT there are some places that are gems. You just have to stick it out… and have a great agent who cares for real estate work.

My boyfriend and I worked with Alex Gross at DJK and we had a fantastic experience. We found the perfect place and signed the lease and all in 5 days flat when we had been looking for weeks before that. Alex took all of the stress and negotiation out of the process and was SO hardworking. He would text us at all times of the day, he showed us apartments when it worked with our difficult schedules, and he even went all the way up to my boyfriend’s office with the lease to have him sign. He helped us get 2 months free rent, hooked us up with a great painter for our place, and has actually become a good friend of ours through the process. I can’t imagine having a better person to work with when looking for a place to rent/​buy. We recommend him to everyone who will listen!

My boyfriend and I recently worked with DJK agent Bianca Tickner when we relocated to NY in April. We gave her an impossible timeline (2 weekends) and long list of must-​haves that she unwaveringly stuck to. Having hunted for apartments before, a merely painless experience would have warranted this review, but Bianca was an absolute pleasure to work with. Patient, conscientious and upbeat, working with her felt like a tour of our favorite neighborhoods as much as an apartment search. Studio hunting in NYC is like wading through a tropical swamp blindfolded with clown shoes on. After dealing with 6 brokers who tried to push me undesirable inventory using broker babble and unwarranted superlatives and the good old bait and switch, Alex Gross found me the perfect place in just two viewings. With incredible attention to detail for what I was looking for, Alex hustled to get me a place that had not even come on the market and I was highly satisfied paying for what I got. The whole experience from the hunt to the lease signing went so easily with Alex’s legwork that it was like flying first class. I can’t recommend Alex enough and will certainly stick with him in the future.

Used DJK to find and buy a co-​op apartment in the village. I went with them because they were located near my office in Union Square and had a good Unilocal rating. Apartment hunting is often stressful and arduous, but Ed and Barbara made it fun. They were extremely attentive and straightforward. They took the time to get to know me and understand my preferences. They worked diligently to suggest apartments that suited me, and adjusted their suggestions based on my feedback. They were always readily available to help throughout the process, even after closing. I always felt like they were working for me, not for my commission. I highly recommend them for anyone looking to rent or buy an apartment in manhattan.
