I will say this… The food is worth the line which extends outside & down the block and it’s worth dealing with the miserable staff. I would give meal recommendations but I’d have to list the entire menu! There is not one thing I tried here that I didn’t like.

This is one of my go to lunch spots during the workweek in mid town and they never disappoint. Always fresh, delicious, many healthy options, and they keep it interesting and exciting with seasonal menus and some regular all year items.
Some of my favorite dishes have been the lemon chicken and meatballs. They have long lines at lunch, but get through the line fast. I try to come before noon to beat the rush.

Ooh I enjoyed my little biodegradable takeout container of «farm to counter» food at the dig inn.(We discovered they were a chain later that night in the Flatiron when friend pointed to another location and said«is that where you ate?») Its not strictly vegetarian, but fresh food, with vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options. They have different meat or in my case veggie options, and a small and large size. You pick your selection a LA cafeteria style, they package it up, you pay and are on your way! I had the small veggie platter, with two kinds of greens(kale? And something else) roasted sweet potatoes, and curry tofu(really good). For $ 5.75 or so it made a nice late lunch around 3:30 pm when there were about four other people in line with me. If you’re really hungry I’d recommend the larger portion, but looks like a great healthy option for lunch.

Every night I walk home from work I pass by this place and get a whip of the deliciousness that is cooking inside. The first time I actually walked inside, I was not disappointed; staff were very friendly and the food was tasty and healthy. Their portions are very reasonable, too: you’re not left neither hungry for more nor struggling with a food coma afterwards. There are two sizes: small, which is two-ish scoops of items and large, which is about three or four. Now I always get the small serving of lemon chicken on a bed of brown rice with kale caesar and Brussels sprouts. Just can’t go wrong with them. The only thing I wish is that this wonderful farm-to-table menu would offer more variety of items. For now, I’m good with what they have!

This place used to be a staple for me but the quality of the food has gone down tremendously. It seems like everything from the quality of the meat to the portion size to the ingredients in the sides have just totally changed for the worse. They also seem to have less options than they used to. I just really miss the old version when I had a hard time choosing what to order. Now it seems that I don’t have a single meat or side that enjoy enough to run back for.

Solid M-F lunch spot for those who are craving healthy and tasty. I’d personally recommend the braised beef for your protein dish, and the kale and sweet potatoes for your sides. Don’t forget to ask for the complimentary hot sauce — super tasty!

Let the Chipotlization of New York continue! I’ll say it upfront, I love the concept of Dig Inn. When my roommate explained it to me, it sounded like a great, healthy alternative to the bagels and burrito bowls I was getting for lunch. However, the quality left something to be desired. The sides were decent enough, but my base(farro with butternut squash) and protein(salmon) were cold and, hence, not as appetizing as I would have liked. Thankfully, my sides of the tofu salad and Brussels sprouts compensated and saved the lunch. Another issue that appears to come up with Dig Inn is the portion sizing difference between big and small plates. With a significant $ 2+ markup between the sizes, I want to make sure that the difference in portions justifies the difference in cost. This will require further investigation.

This is probably my favorite place to eat in all of New York City. But, I can’t let this location off the hook and give them a higher score than they deserve(at this location anyway). First let me say, I used to work downtown on Water Street and would offer the Broad Street location my patronage 3 – 4 times a week for lunch. The space was very big and very clean. Unfortunately my company moved to midtown about a year ago and I am now forced to get my Dig Inn fix on Madison Avenue. First, let me start with the entrance since that’s the first thing everyone encounters. WHY is the right door ALWAYS locked? Isn’t this a fire hazard? And as much as I’m amused by watching everyone panic about the other door situation in the winter, is it really necessary? You’d have to experience their setup during winter to really understand. Let’s just say the added winter door almost appears to be vacuum-sealed when attempting to open it. But, enough about that, the door is just an annoyance, no biggie. Inside, the first thing that hits me on most days is the very odd and foul aroma that fills the room. I don’t know if it’s improper use of cleaning products or just poor ventilation, but there’s an odorous smell that I find to be rancid. There are varying levels of this stench each time I visit, sometimes barely noticeable up to on occasion unbarable. But, it’s always lingering in the air. I never once noticed this at the Broad Street location. This is my number one complaint here… of course there’s the overall cleanliness which is usually mediocre at best, but since it’s so small and you can almost never get a seat to eat there(as if), I’m usually in and out and try to keep it out of mind. I’m still trying to forget about the hair I found in my meal on Tuesday, it could happen to anyone, anywhere… but it’s still a memory fresh in my head. Get rid of the odor, clean up the place and unlock the door and I’ll give you the five stars that all the other Dig Inn locations receive and deserve.

This restaurant is fantastic and the food was amazing, when it comes to food I am a critic and I am not that easily pleased but I must admit that the food was beyond my expectations. The staff was very professional, polite and they practice good food safety which was an extra plus. If you happen to be in NYC or live here and need to fill your belly tank I highly recommend Dig inn restaurant, be sure to ask for Thomas tell him that Archer sent you and he will be sure to take care of you. So feel free to stop at Dig inn and you’ll be the next person to leave your 5 star review on here.

This is a really decent place for healthy fresh food of great variety and value. They set up their menu so that you pick a type of protein, then a type of grain or salad, and then two sides. You can also choose between small and large portions. I chose the small and it was plenty of food for me. I enjoyed the fact that their food was warm, especially the sides because normally I’m used to these healthy buffet places having cold salad-like options. However, for the protein option, I would stay away from the salmon unless you’re really into the taste of red pepper and overwhelming vinegar. But that’s really my only gripe about the food. Otherwise, the cauliflower chickpea side was awesome — perfectly roasted and nice texture. And the sweet potatoes were really well roasted as well and not too soft.

Very fast service but the proteins can be iffy sometimes. Usually turns out to be 10 – 13 depending on the protein and size. I’ve tried the chicken, meatball, brisket and steak. I like the meatball and steak but the time I got the steak the portion was so small… For sides my favorite are stir fried kale and broccoli. So good! I hear mac and cheese is amazing too. Overall kind of healthy but pretty tasty food for midtown professionals.

Work lunch delivery review. EASEOFORDER — very simple. their online ordering system is great. for large orders(I ordered for 10 people) it’s fantastic because you get to include a name with each plate… and then they wrote the names on the containers. this made my life soo much easier so thanks for that system. SELECTION — this particular location doesn’t have sandwiches or salads like the Broadway location so that’s disappointing. TASTE — I thought it was mediocre. Salmon salad was just ok. They messed up my grains and gave me spinach instead of bulgur. The broccoli was mainly stems!!! PRESENTATION — the main meal and the sides were all lumped together in one container. I guess this is only for delivery but still. My sides were OK to mix but I know some people ordered watermelon as a side and that seems kind of weird rubbing up against fish or chicken… I’d really prefer if everything was separate.

I come her every week when I volunteer nearby. Great value for a nutritious meal at under $ 10& if you eat in they have iced water available free of charge. At lunchtime there can be a long line but it goes quickly. Staff have always been friendly. If it is a nice day you can always walk up 40th St to eat your lunch in Bryant Park, as there is limited seating inside the place.

Seamless Review: I often order from Dig Inn at the office because I find it to be one of the best restaurants on Seamless for healthy food that I actually want to eat. It’s hard to order healthy at work when many nutritional options on Seamless taste like garbage, but Dig Inn makes it a lot easier and does so at a very fair price. Furthermore, their delivery operation is one of the fastest out there and I often get my order within 15 – 20 minutes.

I came here for a quick dinner for the first time the other day and was impressed. I got the large veggie plate with spinach, roasted sweet potatoes, roasted brussels sprouts with spicy sunflower seeds, and sicilian roasted cauliflower with chickpeas. It was all delicious. I’m not sure if all of their locations are small but this one was pretty small. There was no line when I went in but all the tables were taken, but fortunately someone left relatively quickly. I can’t even imagine how busy it must get around lunch time. I’m sure it’s impossible to find a table. It came out to less than $ 10, which is great for a quick, healthy dinner!

Solid option for a quick healthy lunch This is the third Dig Inn I’ve been to. Through all of them, I find that they specialize in quick and healthy for the lunch crowd. The line moves with the efficiency of Chipotle and the food always tastes pretty good. Everything is precut into bitesized pieces and a lot of the options are cold. It just feels a little weird in my stomach and I can’t say that I ever feel completely satisfied eating it.

Fresh, healthy, delicious, AND cheap… what more could you want??? Dig Inn is a breath of fresh air amongst a sea of greasy and overpriced midtown restaurants. I had: Mom’s Braised Beef Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Spicy Sunflower Seeds Couscous w/Local Butternut Squash Roasted Red Pepper Sauce Baby Spinach All for under $ 12! I ordered online for pick up and I only waited a minute or two when I got there. The beef was super tender, the brussels sprouts were sweet, crunchy, and spicy all at the same time. The only thing I didn’t LOVE was the couscous. It was a bit too sweet for my liking but still really good. I’ll be a returning customer!

So, it’s a new year, which means changes at Dig Inn. Price of my dish went up 20% from last week, but I also got a little more food, so I’m OK with that as long as portion sizes don’t get super stingy again. Not sure how much other dishes went up in prices. They’ve done away with punch cards in favor of Level Up. I don’t love this change, but I can see that it works out well for a lot of parties. Food quality continues to be pretty good. It has been more consistent quality than in the past, which I appreciate. Also, has been fun to see some new things that they have tried, though I am sad the pork did not last very long… it looked great.

Came here before a dental appointment for a quick bite. I was slightly confuse with the menu, so I went up to the counter to get further assistance. I choose a veggie box with a a base of arugula, the way the place works is similar to a non-self serve take out with fresher and healthier options. For the prices, $ 5 for a small box that is enough to fill me up for dinner is a hidden gem in the city, especially Madison Avenue

I’ve had delivery and take out from this place. Both have been amazing. My first meal was turkey with brussels sprout and broccoli along with apple and kate salad. It was so satisfying. I was worried that I would still be hungry after eating it because I got the smaller size, but I was satisfied. The side of guacamole helped too, so creamy and savory. When I went inside, the place was very cute with a rustic feel. The line is long but moves quicky. They have a $ 5 LevelUp credit too. This time I had the wild salmon salad, kale apple and bacon salad, and brussels sprouts. I got the larger size this time, with a side of guacamole. It was delicious and I was beyond satisfied. I was stuffed!
