This place is the worst. Never coming back. $ 42 mani pedi. Nail girl I got can not paint nails… Polish is on skin and nails are bare in some spots! Pedicure chair is so uncomfortable. Ugly pink décor everywhere. I’m beyond dissatisfied.

Bright pink décor is cute and staff are friendly. But it was mid afternoon on a Saturday and there was only 1 other client in the entire salon! It being so empty worried me. They had Deborah Lippmann polish but told me it was $ 2 more. Pretty good choice of Essie colors. Manicure was fine — very short hand massage.
In short, still searching for my go to nail place.

I had a manicure this week and was treated rudely and disrespect ably by the staff. The lady that did my nails insisted that I pay her in cash. The manicure was quick and sloppy.

I don’t find the work/​atmosphere to justify the price. There are other places more worth your while and hard earned money.

The couch you sit on is hard and you cant recline in it.
Out of all the pedicures ive had id rate this a 3 or 4
THEY CHARGE $ 36 FOR A PEDICURE.
That pedicure was not worth that much.

I came here with two of my girlfriends the other day as a treat for ourselves as we catch up over pedis. The job was shotty and my technician Lilly complained to me saying I tipped her too little (15%), which if the job had been done better, I would have gave more. Moreover, all of us realized that our nails were not shiny at all two days after the services. We believe that they used a base coat on top instead of a top coat which would a) explain why it looked so dull and b) a big no no for the prices they were charging ($ 65 for mani and pedi) definitely not coming back here for less than mediocre services and ungrateful attitudes!

This DD location seems to always have specials up on various deal sites, and now I see why they need the promo. I bought a mani/​pedi spa deal and used it right before my vacation. I booked my appointment for 7pm, only to be called by the receptionist asking if I can come in earlier because they close at 7:30pm. Odd, given the person that booked it never mentioned that. Fortunately, it wasn’t a big deal since I had nothing urgent ahead of that.
What irked me was that the service I received was subpar, even for a regularly priced salon. Absolutely no attention to detail in the painting and filing of my nails. After feeling pretty unsatisfied with the results, I still gave what I thought to be a reasonable tip (and for the record I’m a generous tipper). Well, the manicurist didn’t seem to think so, and so she continued to rant about it in her native language like I didn’t notice. Girl, please.
The value of my services was about $ 95. Let’s just say if I actually paid that amount I would be highly upset. Probably wouldn’t go back again.

I love me a fresh manicure. I really do. I try to go once a week but it’s just not always possible. Partly because I’m not made of money and partly because, you know, I have a job. Makes finding time to do other stuff pretty challenging.
But listen, sometimes I girl needs to be pampered without the whole massive spa experience and the prices to match. I found Groupons for Dashing Diva and upon further investigation realized they also allow wine. WINE! You guys, this is pretty big. I called them up and they explained they only serve wine on Thursday and Friday nights. But it was a Tuesday and I wanted to drink then. With my friend Jen. What’s a girl gotta do to have a drink and a mani?!
The nice woman on the phone said we could bring our own wine if we wanted, and they have glassware and would serve it to us. Ah… what? I can bring my favorite wine and drink it to my heart’s content while I luxuriate in a pedicure chair? YES. PLEASE. LET’S DO THIS.
I made two appointments for a mani/​pedi for that evening. Jen and I met here at 7:30PM. It was empty. Two other people getting pedicures, loads of open seats. I chose a color (of which they have a very thorough selection. Really, much better than most places), handed over my wine and got cozy in my pedicure seat. Instead of pedicure chairs, they have long couches, up high, almost like the stadium seating of beauty? Odd, but comfortable enough due to the numerous throw pillows. They brought over our wine in martini glasses and kept the rest of the bottle on ice for us. I must say, a martini glass is challenging enough, but seated on a squishy couch without anywhere to place the glass between sips? I know, I know, it’s a hard knock life.
Listen, they let me bring my wine in, so I have little to complain about. The pedicure was alright I guess, I thought it was a spa pedicure, but I wouldn’t categorize it that way. It was faster than most and without a Groupon, I would have called it way overpriced. Regular pedicure for me next time I think. I could get a better pedicure at a million places all over the city, this just wasn’t very good. I knew it from the moment it was over. My friend Jen and I moved over to the manicure tables. The manicurist brought my wine over. Thank you!
The manicure was also quick, but it was a truly well done job. I was impressed with how they handled and eliminated my slightly mangled cuticles and gave my nails a really nice shape. We sat and dried (the wine moved with us — don’t fret!) while they opened our second bottle (yeah, Jen and I each brought a bottle. FRIENDSHIP) and filled our glasses.
When it was time to pay I pulled my Groupon up on my phone and had to negotiate with them if it was okay to use it. Apparently you have to tell them you want to use it when you walk in, not wait until you are done. I suppose that makes sense? I don’t want to be a pain, I did like it here, but we were the only ones in there and had already bought the Groupon. I understand there is fine print that I’m too lazy/​careless to read but pleaseeeee?
They did honor it and we left happy. We have been back twice now and really enjoyed it. We brought our own wine all three times. I have another Groupon waiting for me too. If you are using a Groupon, make an appointment (that’s also part of the fine print!) and bring cash for the tip, obviously.
After some time, my manicure stayed. Every manicure I have had from there has been excellent. The polish doesn’t chip and my cuticles stay in line and my nails don’t break. I’m very impressed! The pedicure was fine, very middle of the road. My toe polish did chip after a week or two (bummer!) and my heels seemed to dry up (sorry if this is TMI) and didn’t seem as though they got rid of all the calluses. But now I know and will continue to come back for the manicures alone, and every so often for a pedicure. Maybe. We will see.
BUT: bring your wine! Bring a friend! It’s more about the girlfriend time and bonding experience than anything else, between that, the color selection and the perfectly executed mani, I’ve formed a fondness for this place.

Went for a nail party with a big group. The manager or owner was great… however my manicure was terrible thanks to Sherry. Not only did she do a terrible job shaping my nails, but her paint job was terrible. I had her re-​do 3 nails and trust me I’m not THAT picky, but I do expect you to do quality work when I’m paying you for the service.
Sherry kept attempting to have me tip her before she was done, I said no. After looking at my manicure once it was dry, there was still «dirt» under multiple nails from the scrub they used to wash my hands. Based on everything I decided not to tip in the end… I was outside waiting for my Über and Sherry came up to me to remind me I didn’t tip. I told her I wasn’t happy with my manicure and she walked away.
Moral of the story: a tip is not automatically something you receive. It’s a benefit to providing excellent customer service

I bought a Groupon for a spa pedicure which was about $ 35 after discount. I’m not sure how expensive the special mineral concoction was they put in the water but it was really just a regular pedicure that I could’ve gotten a million other places for $ 15 — thank goodness I bought the Groupon. Had I paid the original price, around $ 60, I would have been pretty pissed off.
That said, the girl who did my pedicure was nice and I was happy they accommodated me without an appointment, which was the policy. There was only one other person in there (a quiet Sunday night), so it seems reasonable they would accommodate even though the Groupon specified needing an appointment.

Anna is a great nail technician, so I highly recommend her!!! My bias is that she’s the only one at this Dashing Diva location that I’ve seen; but you know how it is when you find someone who does amazing job you stick with them. Period. She usually takes her time, massages well and is meticulous! Today, however, the place was super busy and while she took her time on the pedi the mani was rushed and not the best.
Be aware that they seem to employ young inexperienced folks to operate the front desk, which compromises the customer service. In other words, they don’t know how to accept payments from vouchers, aren’t aware of pricing, and can be dismissive and rude when they make pricing errors.
Beware that you will be charged extra cash $$$ money for certain polish with no advanced notice and no signage. The newbie at the desk lied and said that there was a sign noting the extra charge. Reluctantly and very irritated, I paid doubting that I missed any sign. On my way out, I searched for a sign and there indeed was NO such sign warning of an extra $ 6 charge for polish. Unheard of! I confronted the lady at the desk and she apologized saying so thought there was a sign; unacceptable.
After investing a $ 100 on this spa mani-​pedi, paying 20% tips most of the time, and overpaying for what costs less other places– being hustled and lied to is unprofessional and a deceptive business practice! And when I talked to the manager on the phone she was self-​righteous and defensive. While she tried to accommodate my requests for a refund, she proceeded to berate the nail technician as if it was her responsibility to tell me of excessive prices when she didn’t even know of my services when I arrived… even though I made an appointment and paid in advance. This establishment needs to improve their customer service training and proper signage.

This place must have gone downhill.
I went there a couple weeks ago for a mani/​pedi. Was asked to chose a color, but wasn’t told they keep a lot of their best Essie colors between the pedicure station and the reception desk. So I missed out on some of my favs but didn’t realize till after pedi was over.
Settled in for a pedicure. The seating is very uncomfortable. It’s a curved padded bench with some pillows. There are no arm rests. And there is no way to lean your head back b/​c there’s no neck/​head rest, just an awkward pillow on your back. The woman who did my pedi did an ok job on the painting but the massage was non-​existent (just enough to rub in some lotion) and weak, even though I was paying for an extra nice pedi. They did come around at one point and offer us a glass of (sweet) champagne, but it was hard for me to enjoy sans arm rest or anywhere to place the drink w/​o it toppling it over. They served the «champagne» in martini glasses.
Mani was just ok, massage again was very rushed. They were in a huge hurry to get me out of there even though it was 7pm on a Friday and it was empty except for 1 other customer.
I would never return, not even for a discount deal.

I’ve been here before and I got a decent manicure but the girl spent the whole time trying to up-​sell me, it was hardly relaxing.
The one star rating comes from my most recent visit. I booked an appointment for one time, the girl said it was a different time. Okay, that happens. What is not acceptable is that she inferred I was lying and that I was the one who made the mistake. Not true, I had somewhere to be after (why I wanted the manicure) so I made sure to schedule it early so that I would have enough time for my other obligation.
When I asked what she could do for me she said nothing. There is nothing she can do about it because she «is not the one that made the mistake.» As a customer I HATE when a business faults the customer for something, especially when the customer is not at fault. What is worse is when that business can’t even apologize. Or take steps to make it better. This girl made it worse and worse and made me feel worse and worse.
Skip this place, go somewhere friendlier. The manicure itself isn’t worth the terrible service.

I’m not new to Dashing Diva, I use to go to the one on Smith St, bklyn. I love that they use a new file for every costumer and the tools are sanitized.
Everything was fine during my visit until my white clutch fell on my toes. It was my fault but as a nail tech, you smile and fix my toes. I got home to see a smudge was not fixed! The tech also decided to take a cotton ball and wipe the bag, now there’s pink nail polish and yellow stains from the polish remover. Greeeeat!
My foot massage was not even a minute long… what’s up with that??? At this price you should be putting me to sleep with TLC.
Now I’m ready to pay and ohhhh there’s a $ 3 CONVENIENCE CHARGE for credit cards.
I will not be returning. The too cool to care receptionist will not be taking my money again.

I am totally into paying a premium for luxury beauty services that deliver. And I hate to be negative about a local business, but Dashing Diva is ridiculous. I bought a «spa mani/​pedi» from Gilt City, who had previously introduced me to such great services that I will now trek all the way to the Upper East Side from the Village for expensive facials. I mean, this place I go to is so tastefully decorated I covet their bathroom (and I hate all public restrooms) and I even ordered myself the same robe they use. So I had big expectations for the $ 89 spa mani/​pedi which is more that twice as much as the place around the corner.
I was excited to go! I mean, what could one possibly get for $ 89 ($ 100+ including tax)? A private room with dim lighting and relaxing music? Beautiful décor? A technician that knows how to do real reflexology? A lounge to relax in as polish is drying?
Nope. You get the exact same thing as you do at the $ 30 place around the corner. We’re talking mediocre. You sit in public areas with other women with their feet and hands out. The massage upsell that I fell for (I thought a massage was included in a SPA mani/​pedi, what can I say?) was the same old leg rub they have everywhere else. My technician was nice but I already forget everything about her. Let’s see, they do slather scrub and lotion on you but it really isn’t that distinguishable from the other place around the corner.
I think this is the first time I received a service and actually told the provider that it was ridiculous. My faith in Gilt City is deeply shaken, so much so that I am also going to write them an email.

I was at Dashing Divas for an industry event, so I cannot say much of anything to their pricing, but the event was very cool! The space is super pretty, and for a group event the layout is excellent. You are pedicured on a semi-​circle sofa so it is very easy to chat with everyone else having their pedicures done at the same time. At the event, the wine and finger foods were brought straight to us while having our nails done and they were quick to refill everything! I don’t know if Dashing Divas had anything to do with the food being catered or if that was a selection made by our hosts, but the food was delicious.
The mani/​pedis themselves were good, nothing spectacular, but good. The color selection was solid and my mani lasted a good week and a half, the pedi lasted much longer.

With a 10% discount a mani-​pedi came to $ 47.99 without tip
–I was asked to pay another $ 1 for a coat of quick-​dry
–Pedicure has no held up well, however manicure has (perhaps because I got the quick dry on the manicure only!)
Sum: Perfect treat with a friend if you have two hands, two feet, and two wallets $$

I’ve been to other Dashing Divas before and this was another good experience. My friend and I had groupons for spa pedicures but we ended up getting other services as well.
We went on a Thursday night which is Ladies night so you can get a free cosmo with any service so we had a great time!
The service was great, the massage during the pedicure was fantastic and they have a great selection of colors to choose from! Its a comfortable and relaxing experience.
The location also helps. After the pedicures my friend and I had a great time in the area with shopping, food and drinks!

Gosh, where do I start??? This place is across the street from me plus I had a groupon deal, and I’m only giving two stars! That’s saying a lot about how mediocre my experience was.
I came in here for a shellac manicure. Paid $ 26 for the groupon. I think the regular rate is almost twice that: O. I was charged an additonal $ 8 to get my old Shellac polish removed. I know a lot of places do that, but usually the more expensive salons do it for free. The manicure itself was awful. My manicurist was rough and cut me. She also used an old, dried out bottle of polish that streaked. Only reason I’m not giving one star is because she agreed to open up a new bottle of polish and redo my nails after I complained.
Lastly, I’ve heard about the drinks that come with mani/​pedis. However I was not offered any beverages, not even a drink of water. Since I didn’t notice anyone else drinking anything, I thought they might have discontinued that additional perk. It wasn’t until my manicure was almost over that I noticed a women being served some pinkish cosmo looking drink. Ummm thanks for offering ladies…

I dunno, its alright. I do know I wouldn’t come here without a groupon or living social, because I think its absolutely ridiculous to pay their prices for a mani/​pedi.
that being said, I came through with a groupon that I inadvertendly bought — I thought it was for the place on long island (again, meh — they’re reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally annoying at the place on Long Island), and had planned on giving it to my sister… but it wasn’t, it was too late, and I couldn’t unload it on any of my friends.
The fella that did my nails was good — Peter — he was careful with my tootsies, and did a great job with the shellac manicure — he made sure to smooth my nails out before applying the polish, and so far its lasted longer then any manicure I’ve ever gotten — ever.
I did feel pretty rushed by the dude. Your nails are supposed to stay in the little thingy until the timer goes off, he pulled them out before they were done and literally said «cmon…cmon» like that was going to make 120 seconds go by faster… but he still did a good job.
I guess the whole Dashing Diva nonsense is lost on me. The chairs are uncomfortable, I HATE when they chit chat in a different language, and the place was literally empty. Whats the rush, jeffe? It was clean, the restroom was clean, and everything was sanitized, so it was okay… but not memorable. and certainly not worth full price. If I’m dropping 165 on a mani/​pedi, I better effn love every second of it!
and, they forgot to give the soak to take this nail polish off. A-​Picking I will Go!
