Women did a terrible color!!! My roots and scalp was orangy brown and my ends were brown. Keep in mind she told me she was giving me red highlights! Worst 100 dollars spent!

Some guy who didn’t seem to have a clue what he was doing just turned my longish curly hair into a fucking mullet! I walked in with long layers and a little angling around my face and said I just wanted a trim. I got a bad feeling from the guy just from the inept way he washed my hair but jesusfuck! he just kept chopping away and when I said repeatedly that I was concerned he was cutting too much he kept saying that he was keeping the length and while yes, technically there are a few strands of hair at the back of my head that are only an inch or two shorter than when i came in but all the rest is gone! it will take me at least 6 months to grow this mess out and there’s no way to fix it. The manager came over when she saw I was getting upset and even tried to fix it but what could she do, my hair was already gone. I think she knew how bad it was because she didn’t charge me for the cut and offered that i could come back tomorrow if I wanted her to try some more. Didn’t get the guy’s name but he’s a short balding Spanish guy.

NEVERGET A HAIRCUTHERE. The people here are pretentious and left me with a bad haircut. I almost fled my seat when she used a razor buzzer thing on my hair. Decided to stay on and see the final result. Terrible idea. I was so disgusted with my hair I went for another haircut(at a better place) a week later. A total waste of my 30 bucks.

I had a gift certificate for JLD and so I went to the one on 8th Street. What a mistake. I have long hair but instead of scissors, the stylist – who barely spoke english – used a buzzer. What a choppy, non-sensical mess she left! I didn’t even want her to fix it. There was no way I was letting her at my hair for any longer than she already had it. I will never get a free haircut again.

I used to go to their location on Vesey back when I lived in Battery Park years ago. Now that I am back in New York, I have been going to the location on 8th street as it is convenient to my work. They always doing a really good job with my hair. Their exclusive use of clippers allows for greater precision and layering that you can’t get from scissors alone. Everyone is really friendly and the prices are low for New York. And trust me, I could never get a hair cut as good as this back in Virginia — I’ve tried several places without success.

I accompanied a friend to get a haircut here, because she wanted to get a cheap prized cut. Jean Louis David is so much better than Supercuts. I think they know how to pick really good haircutters. My friend had soft wavy/curly hair. She had a pretty mediocre cut before. She was given this young hispanic female hair stylist to cut her hair. I was persuading her to have it cut short but she wanted it long. After a long wait it was her turn. The woman gave her tips on how to style her hair as she started cutting it. After that my friend’s hair was really awesome! It was modern and cool(long layers and side swept bangs) yet right enough for her appearance. You would have cheered if you saw it. The stylist knew what she was doing. She picked the best haircut for my friend. Sadly, my friend could did not really see how awesome her hair was. She did not have the personality to carry it. I know, I know. Later on she had her hair in a bun again and told me she cut her bangs. Yes, I still talk to this person. Eh… She was better off cutting her hair some place in Flushing, which she did. He, he. (Sigh).

I was shoe shopping on a Saturday and had planned to get my haircut in a few days. Didn’t know where, was just going to walk in someplace like Astor Place Hair with some photos or something. And then I passed this place and thought maybe I should just get it over with here. So I went inside and only had to wait half an hour for a walk in appointment. The girl who cut my hair(I think her name was Giselle?) was super nice and did an AMAZING job, and I didn’t even have my photos on me. This was a scary cut for me, because I was getting a lot cut off plus bangs, which I haven’t had in over 10 years, and I am very pleased with the results. It cost 50 with blowdry(and because I had long hair). If I didn’t get the blowdry it would only have cost 30… but I felt like splurging: P There was a sign outside that said on weekdays between certain times(maybe 2 – 4?) there were 25 dollar cuts. So it seems like a pretty good deal. I liked my cut here better than I did my last one at Panyc and it was a little cheaper.
