Dr Antell has been in private practice for more than 23 years. During that time both Dr Randolf Guthrie and Dr. Michael Sachs have retired and entrusted their practices to Dr. Antell due to his excellent results and tack record, forwarding their own patients to him for medical care.

Dr. Antell is a board certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon. He has been in private practice and has served as Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery at Columbia University for over 23 years. He is a spokesperson for the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and has membership in many medical societies, including the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.

He received his general surgery training at the prestigious Stanford University Medical Center. Dr. Antell then went on to specialize in plastic/​reconstructive surgery, training at the New York Hospital/​Cornell Medical Center and the Memorial Sloan-​Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.

Dr. Antell and his staff were incredible. I went in for dermabrasion, and from the very beginning he was honest with me. Told me the pros and cons of dermabrasion and the fact that he was honest with me made me trust him even more needless to say after the procedure and of course following his instructions to avoid any scarring or complications my skin looks incredible. I am so thankful for his honesty and for his work.

I had earlobe repair recently done by Dr. Antell and I couldn’t be more pleased with the overall experience. From the beginning of the process to the end Dr. Antell and his staff provided me with the most caring and comforting service. It was a extremely easy procedure, however, I was pretty nervous. Dr. Antell and his nurse Michelle did a great job at distracting me and calming my nerves when the procedure took place. I am pleased with the turn out and highly suggest Dr. Antell.

Dr. Antell is very professional and his staff is very warm and welcoming. He consults you well, and makes you feel very comfortable. However, it seems that the procedures here are very pricy — a facial mole removal, which would have cost $ 600 — $ 1000 elsewhere in NYC, was almost $ 3000 here! Overall, I believe that he is a quality surgeon, just make sure to inquire about the price before you go in.

I am always pleased with the experience and the results when I have been Dr. Antell’s patient (4 separate procedures). I have also referred him to many of my friends and now several of them see him regularly for little things here and there (Botox, mole removal, eye lifts, you name it). Dr. Antell is always professional and makes you feel comfortable before, during, and after surgery. He is the top plastic surgeon in New York, and it is easy to see why!

I went to Dr. Antell for breast Augmentation in March, 2014. He was wonderful. He listened and gave me exactly what I wanted. His nurses and staff are terrific as well. The doctor let me try on all different size implants to determine exactly what I wanted. We also discussed type of implant & incisions in detail. The surgery is done right in his office and he is meticulous in detail. My breasts look so full and natural which is exactly what I wanted. Everyone compliments how great & proportioned my figure looks & my boyfriend can’t believe they are implants! The healing went so smoothly… I had the surgery on Wed & was out & about by Friday & back to work on Monday. If you are looking for a surgeon that performs quality work with a great bedside manner look no further than Dr. Darrick Antell.

I had a fantastic experience working with Dr. Antell, and I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a plastic surgeon. I consulted Dr. Antell regarding two procedures to my face — buccal fat removal as well as micro-​liposuction under my chin. Any reservations I had about the surgery went away during my initial consultation; I was immediately put at ease by his kind demeanor and professionalism. Dr. Antell clearly and thoroughly outlined what the surgery would entail, what recovery would be like, and what results I could expect. Every aspect of this process was pleasant and professional, and Dr. Antell and his staff made time and effort to communicate with me throughout the process. I received instructions before surgery letting me know in detail how to prepare and take care of myself after. The surgery itself went very smoothly, and I had an easy recovery with minimal discomfort in the following days. One of the nurses, Annie, was particularly helpful during my recovery, responding to any questions I had with speed, kindness, and competence. In terms of the procedures, I am incredibly happy with my results — the difference is both significant and subtle, and my face has definition in a way it never would have without surgery, while still looking natural and like myself. I am beyond impressed with Dr. Antell and my entire experience. He is, simply put, the best.

My experience with Dr Antell and his team compelled me to share my review. Let me start of by saying that I am a medical professional. I have wanted to have this particular procedure for over six years. There were specific standards that I wanted from a medical standpoint. Over the years I’ve done quite a bit of research. Dr Antell met all my requirements. I had tons of questions. After consulting with Dr Antell all of my questions and concerns were answered. The final decision to go through with the procedure was nerve wrecking for me. For weeks prior to my surgery date his team was there to answer any new questions and put me at ease. All very professional and caring, Annie in particular. Needless to say I am extremely satisfied with the results of my surgery. I couldn’t ask for anything better. I am ecstatic with the physical results, but there’s more. My recovery time and experience was impressive, I didn’t even use prescription pain relievers, (except for the first night after the surgery). I am an overwhelmingly happy customer. Dr Antell is professional, personable, and experienced. I highly recommend this practice. Dr Antell and his team are definitely five star!

Before my first appointment with Dr. Antell, I had multiple consultations with other plastic surgeons. Although all were board certified, the difference with Dr. Antell was remarkable. Other doctors were rushed and pushy, whereas Dr. Antell took the time to genuinely listen and honestly answer all of my questions. I was well-​informed about the surgical procedures, including preparation before, afterwards, and any possible risks. In addition, his office staff was very accommodating and welcoming.
My results are absolutely beautiful, and look very natural in person and on camera. Furthermore, I never had any surgical complications, which is why I chose Dr. Antell to perform each of my four cosmetic procedures. He is a five star, talented and kind doctor. I’m a private person, and was not planning to write a review in this category. However, when I saw Dr. Antell’s reviews, I felt compelled to contribute my experience because he is a five star doctor, not three.
I spent over three months researching cosmetic surgeons, which eventually whittled down to five, which I met in person. Dr. Antell was the only doctor who did not take the pushy, car salesman approach. He listened intently, answered all of my questions, and provided me with a sense of calm amid a nerve racking decision. His staff is also amazing, thorough, and incredibly professional from the first visit to the final check-​in.
My results were better than I could have ever imagined, and I have doctor Antell to thank. He is a kind person and a very talented doctor, standing out from the hordes of slicked back, shark-​like plastic surgeons. Would highly recommend him.

Dr. Antell is amazing & professional what he does. I had breast augmentation recently. When I went for my consultation I knew that we connected. After going for other consultations I knew that he was the right guy for the job. I brought my husband to meet him & he felt the same way. He exceeded way more than my expectations. I had a lot of confidence in him. He is an expert with tons of experience. My implants are natural looking & look so natural looking. On week 2 you couldn’t even see any scars. No one would even know that I had surgery. I feel comfortable in the locker with changing in front of other women. From the receptionist to the financial woman, to the nurse EVERYONE was pleasant, friendly, patient & informative. The office is pleasant, quiet, soothing & informative. The operating/​recovery room is in the office & is also top notch. I wouldn’t go anywhere else for any cosmetic procedures. I trust Dr. Antell 100%. I couldn’t be any happier to write this review. When I was looking for doctors I I read reviews as well. Good luck!!!

In my opinion, any interaction with a medical practitioner should be judged in a number of ways…
1) Office Staff: friendly, easy to work with…
2) Insurance; staff knowledgeable and helpful in sorting out any insurance questions…
3) Office Environment: seen on time, treated as a person vs. a «patient», pleasant experience…
4) Practitioner/​Medical Staff: experienced, patient, state of the art, a leader in the field…
5) Procedure: smooth, relatively painless, no complications…
6) Follow-​up; post-​operative interest exhibited via phone call, etc.
Six distinct levels of criteria… I have had several procedures performed by Dr. Antell over a number of years… On all levels — not only have he and his staff delivered, they have consistently over-​delivered… Any person considering a procedure within the field of aesthetic (cosmetic) surgery, should, in no uncertain terms, contact Dr. Antell for a consultation… No one does it better.

I feel so fortunate to have found Dr Antell after seeing him on the Today Show and on CBS as well. I made an appointment & went through with a facelift & upper eye lift. Dr Antell is both knowledgeable and talented. His approach is careful and conservative — the term «detail-​oriented» keeps popping into my head. Dr Antell and his staff are warm, approachable and patient, welcoming questions and ready to explain their procedure. Dr Antell kept a close watch on my recovery in the weeks following my procedure through office visits and even phone calls to my home.
Last winter, I tripped & fell flat on my face, breaking my nose! While I still on the floor — before anyone reached me to help — my mind instantly flew to Dr Antell. I was still in pain but I felt relief, just knowing that I had a competent surgeon ready to help me.

Dr. Antell is a well-​spoken elegant man. His mannerism, fancy Park Ave. office, and magazine articles make you believe he’s an excellent doctor. However, he underplays the dangers of plastic surgery by reassuring you a perfect result. I asked him about many possible complications but he told me it would be less than 1%.
One of the many complications of breast augmentation is capsular contraction. It is more common in the first several months. It is when your body forms a lining around the implant. When this happens the capsule will tighten and squeeze the implant. This will distort the appearance of the implants and they will feel hard.
The causes are unclear but these is the most common complications. Following are thought to cause it:
1. Transient germ contamination
2. Infection
3. Hematoma — a collection of blood in the surgical area
I ended up getting the capsular contraction within the first month. I asked about it but he said it wasn’t. I was under excruciating pain for that whole month. My breast also had other complications as well.
When I consulted 3 more doctors both in east and west coast they all confirmed that it Is level III capsular contraction. I am very scared to redo it again and have to live with it. I would not recommend a doctor who underplays the dangers of plastic surgery and then later does not recognize a serious side effect such as capsular contraction.
