It’s so easy to wholeheartedly recommend Patti Vaccaro for Yves Durif, as I’ve been her faithful client for the past seven years. Whether I come in with photographic example or a blank slate Patti never fails to apply her artistry, experience and technique to create something wonderful.

This man knows how to cut hair.
My visit to the Salon, located inside the timeless Carlyle hotel, was exactly what you’d want out of a visit to an upscale salon. Yves is some kind of hair magician — one look at my former locks and he knew precisely what to do. After getting one of the best shampoos of my life, Yves got to work — and the result left my hair feeling so much healthier, and my overall look revived!
i have curly hair which is always a challenge for stylists — but Yves handled my hair beautifully. I could not be more pleased!
Any visit to the Carlyle is always a positive one in my book, but a trip to this salon is truly a treat. I would highly recommend and will be going back for many cuts in the future!

One of the best hairdressers in the world, no exaggeration, I met Yves when I was sixteen while he was working under the legendary, Bruno Pittini, and his haircuts were sensational. Over the years, I moved to Los Angeles, and thought, I was always in great hands with some of the most notable hairdressers in the world. Recently, I went back in NY and was staying at the wonderful Carlyle and went back to Yves. Like Dorothy, there is no place like home. I didn’t even have to click my ruby slippers three times. I blinked and within minutes looked amazing, my friends didn’t’ even recognize me., at dinner. This haircut was the best I ever had even better then his mentor Bruno. Bruno if you are gazing down, you truly have Yves carrying out your legacy. By the way, the salon is elegant, warm and most importantly his team are personable, attentive, and the team will continue fill your hearts with kindness.

I have lived in New York for a 4 years and it has been a big challenge finding the perfect hair stylist. Mostly because every hair salon has their own way of cutting your hair and really they cut it how they think it should look and not necessarily how you want it. I once got a mullet hair cut from Arrojo after I told her that I really wanted to keep the length but lighten the texture of it. Not my best hair day and my husband didn’t really dig my mullet either.
Then, I came to Yves Durif after my friend told me to go there and a miracle happened. I found an AMAZING stylist who understood exactly what I wanted and made my hair look better than I could imagine it!
The salon is housed in the super fancy and beautiful Carlyle Hotel on the UES but don’t let deter you because their staff and prices are very reasonable and inline with what other big/​major salons charge. Plus their chairs give you a massage while you get your hair washed. Loved it.
If you’re looking for an incredible, friendly, talented and just all around lovely stylist, go visit Julie Arredondo at Yves Durif and just let her work her magic on you. She’s amazing! I left the salon feeling like a million bucks and a week later, I’m still in love with my hair and especially my bangs.

A few years ago I was introduced to literally the most talented stylist I have ever met (& believe me I have met many!) I selfishly don’t even want to share his name because I want to keep him all to myself, but that would be unfair ;) My hair guru is JP Ramirez and you can find him at the gorgeous Yves Durif salon! Color, extensions, style, fun, knowledge, intuition… I need a separate review just for JP to be honest. He is actually the reason I was introduced to this salon & I have to say the pairing is perfect. Located on the 3^rd floor of the iconic Carlyle Hotel; the interior alone oozes style and glamour. The entire ambiance is incredibly chic & refreshingly comfortable. If you are looking for a VIP experience with a staff that brings so much energy, knowledge & fun… your search is over. Every stylist I have ever come in contact with there is so on point and on top of their game professionally; there is no question you will be in great hands. I can’t say enough good things about my incredibly talented colorist/​stylist JP and the masterpiece salon that is Yves Durif. There isn’t any salon in NYC that provides this kind of experience and I really think it has everything to do with the owner (whom btw is incredibly kind & charismatic) and his fabulous team of experienced stylists!
