CoCo Fresh Tea & Juice

Though it’s an international chain, CoCo is one of my favorite spots to get boba mainly because every time I’ve had it (I’ve been to several other Coco locations throughout the city), the boba is always soft and chewy unlike other places. Also, CoCo is relatively cheaper than most other places. I love the fact that you can completely customize your order in terms of toppings, sugar level, and ice level. During the winter, I get hot boba but all other times I get iced boba. I’ve been going to this location for years because it’s a few blocks from my office and I’ve probably had half of their menu and everything has been so good!

This was seriously the sweetest bubble tea I’ve ever had. Like, too sweet. I ended up throwing half of it away because I just couldn’t get past the sugar overload. Other than that this is a cute little place. Staff isn’t super friendly. Good location and prices, especially for NYC.

Bubbles were stuck together and hard to chew. The taro milk tea had a funky taste. I think there was too much cream. I’ve been to other coco locations and the bubble teas were fine. Not sure what happened here.

Lots of choices. Bit expensive but worth it. The tapioca (bubbles) are fresh and goes well with the flavors. My Fav — Caramel bubble tea
The place is not very big and usually have a long queue during lunch times.

Yummy but expensive. 3 tables as far as seating goes. The employees are super obnoxious, laughing really loudly and shouting to each other in whatever their language is… Kind of disrespectful to the patrons.

Expensive compared to its Flushing and Chinatown counterparts, but good for a boba fix for midtown.
I actually prefer the grass jelly and sago pearls to the boba but they do a good job with whatever you’re craving.

One of the best bubble tea shops i’ve been to. Certainly my favourite in NY. Huge variety of products and very good quality served.

I have been to several cocos and have been to at least 10times over several year for this location. I generally love this location because it’s close to work.
I ordered black tea latte this time. The the cashier lady asked me if I wanted «bubble» in my tea. Then I asked her whether if it’s additional… then she gave me a question mark face… I asked her again saying” is it additional?” Then she still don’t get the question. So, clearly she didn’t understand English much, though the lady behind me understood what I said and repeated again.
In addition, she told my Chinese coworker that she cannot use her credit card because the total is less than $ 5 in Chinese, whereas she accept credit card payment for less than $ 5 for all other white folks behind us. I saw their credit card receipts.
We were waiting in the line for a while and all the other customer behind me got their drinks and left already. So I asked them again whether they are making my drink just to make sure. Then the cashier lady again said «No!»…I didn’t know what to say after that. In few minutes later she said «it’s coming». Other employees added saying «we are warming up the milk in the back area»… I don’t know why they have this lady at the cashier whereas they have other employees who understand English and not as rude.
I will not going back to this location!

I like this location for its convenience. It’s close to the Grand Central station. They have many options on their menu, hot/​cold, and the price is not bad at all. The space is small, so expect to just grab and go. I like their drinks with Yakult (a Japanese drink packed with probiotics). You could also specify the sweetness of your drink, my recommendation is to go for less sweet if you don’t like sweet, as their normal drinks are made too sweet to my standard.

So expensive… but I guess that is expected since it’s located in midtown. After all, they need to be able to pay off the rent.
The space does not seem very big. There are only a few seats for customers.
If you stay here, you’d realize they start to get loud since there are so many workers and they are all joking with each other. However, workers here are very nice and they work very quickly. They know to separate chill time with work time. It is perfect for the fast-​paced city people.
I’ve noticed that most of the drinks are actually pre-​made (not just the plain tea. I mean milk teas) and stored in a container of some sort but I guess that’s reasonable. As someone who has experience in making bubble tea, if they did it the regular way, there will always be people complaining about speed even though it still takes less than a minute.
My favorite drink is their lemon yakult. If I weren’t so poor, I’d visit more often.

This was my first time having a milk tea. CoCo’s was quick and easy.
I LOVE red bean anything, so the red bean milk tea ($ 3.75) was an easy choice. It was a combination of both tapioca pearls and red bean, not bad! A bit on the sweeter side, it was surprisingly refreshing and kind of filling! (more of a desert than actual drink in my mind)

While this is one of the better milk teas I’ve had in the city, I’ve had better. Some milk tea places don’t take the art of milk tea to heart, and use powders and ingredients that aren’t quality. It’s not to say that their product isn’t good, it’s just not the highest quality you can get.
I like the location of this one. Very close to Grand Central, which I greatly appreciate. However, it wasn’t open when it said it would be, which bothers me a little. If you’re going to open at 10:00am, open! Not at 10:30am!!!
The taro milk tea is worth a shot, but not the tastiest. It’s more creamy than it is tasty.
The mango yakult is killer! It’s tasty and refreshing, without the thickness and filling-​ness you get/​feel when you drink milk tea. I would definitely get this again. I want to try the other flavors!
If you’re looking for some quick milk tea, I recommend CoCo. I definitely don’t have a problem with it, but I can’t say I was amazed. I will, however, be back for more.

I’ve been here numerous times with coworkers. Every time we have been they have run out of one topping or another. For a bubble tea shop, you would expect them to have a plentiful supply of jellies.
The bubble teas are ok, I appreciate that they have specials so it gives you the opportunity to try different things. They offer variety and because it’s a chain you know exactly what you’re getting.

Best tapioca I have ever had. Was recommended the Jasmine tea with milk. I also tried the two ladies; it is a perfect balance of tapioca and bubbles :)
My son was not a fan of his lemon dunk… he said it tasted too much like tea, but he is 7 and it was super tasty.

The best thing about it is the location. Right by my job.

Coco is a chain specializing in teas served with a smile. Service is consistently friendly and helpful. And as far as bubble tea goes, this place has options in terms of tapioca, jelly, and pudding. I’ve been experimenting with the different flavors of teas, but for the most part I stick to the milk tea with tapioca or get The Two Ladies, which is their milk tea with a mix of jelly and tapioca.
They get the five stars for using quality ingredients, having consistent top-​notch service, and being affordable even in the middle of Manhattan. As the temps start to dip outside, I want tea, but I’m not quite ready for a hot one just yet. I request my regular tea with no ice and I get no problem and a can-​do attitude. Try that no-​ice business at Dunkin Donuts. Starbucks will fill up your cup barely halfway with no ice. If I can express an indignant grunt through a review, I’d do it here.
But Coco is an oasis that smells like the most fragrant spices, exotic, bold, and indulgent as soon as you step in. And you don’t break more than a $ 5 bill for top notch customer service and tea.

In the summer my coworkers and I come at least once a week. CoCo never fails to quench our afternoon thirst. The plus, two blocks from work!
Normally, we order anything from the Green Tea Latte with Red Beans, Grapefruit Green Tea with Coconut Jelly, Jasmine Milk Tea, Passionfruit Green Tea with Coconut Jelly, or just anything. They always make the drink to your liking.
Sometimes, when there are a lot of people, it can be overwhelming, but I am not going to complain. Love this place!

Finally a bubble tea place near my office, now I have a reason to log more steps on my step tracker — to get bubble tea!
I came here with a friend after lunch, the line was long and moved a little slow, but the bubble tea ws decent, with soft and chewy bubbles. I’ll definitely come back.

CoCo’s presence near Grand Central Terminal is a pleasure. They are doing a great job exposing bubble tea to the shy co-​workers who have been missing out on it! CoCo, in general have the best fruit based drinks compared to their competition, in my opinion. Their juice-​based drinks menu is much more extensive and better quality.
Passionfruit Green Tea is by far my most favorite bubble tea drink ever. For a high volume shop, their drink comes out perfect every single time. It is a great mixture of tangy passionfruit and green tea blend here.
Grapefruit Green Tea is what this location introduced me too. After getting the same drink over and over again, the friendly staff recognizes me and encouraged me to try their new addition to the menu. Of course, it was quite refreshing and delicious. Surprised me because usually I do not really like grapefruit but it was addicting!
This is a very busy location but I never have a problem getting my drink under a reasonable time. Expect around a ten-​minute trip from lining up, ordering, and picking your drink up. Enjoy!

The only authentic boba place in midtown. Such an amazing addition to my office neighborhood — it’s a small store but it’s meant to be grab and go. They’ve started a promo for 2 medium sized teas for $ 4.50– but that doesn’t include bubbles. I love the taro slush– I prefer slush over just ice, as the ice waters everything down so quickly.
Their bubbles are sooooooo good– you know it’s not those frozen types you get at Korean stores that taste all stale. These are fresh and start to blacken the drink a little at the bottom– so fresh and chewy. Will be my summer go-​to dessert stop when having dinner nearby after work.
