Central Park Bike Shop

The bike helper was very rude… Better one on 58^th and 6^th ave… and closer to Central Park!

Very disappointed. We rent a 3 bikes for 2 hours. We started our tour about 5:30 which means we can ride a bike until 7:30, since they close earlier at 7pm. But they told us we need to return bike within 7pm and we agree with them to return on time. Unfortunately we were late about 4 minute, and we apologize to them still they charge us $ 15 per bike which means $ 45 for 3 bikes. We requested to them not to charge that much money. Since they have policy so they Can’t help us. Even we said we are student over here can u please charge us less money. The guy at the register said no no no no no a big No.
Seriously you guys make easy money by ripping up people’s pocket even from student no mercy for them. Just to let you even thousands and thousands of student make money while we study at school. And making money is not always easy. But this people are cutting people’s pocket just for 4 minutes late.
Management should look after this kind of issues. And should stop ripping our money with stupid policy. I’m really going to sue u guys for this. $ 45 is not a big amount for you guys but it’s a lot of money for me.
Please everyone go somewhere else not this one.

This place is ridiculous. There are a million places to rent bikes for Central Park. I’ve been here an hour. A whole hour and I’m still waiting for a bike. The staff is nice enough but there is absolutely no consideration for the time of patrons. I rented a tandem online for a 12 – 1 pm slot. It’s 12:59…still waiting. BS.

The bikes were ok and did the job. However, upon getting fitted for the seat, the employee set it incredibly low without actually checking with me to see if it worked. This led to me having to spend so much wasted time on readjusting my seat constantly, sometimes with difficulty because it wouldn’t hold. I also saw another employee just tossing the helmets into piles, which reduces the effectiveness of the helmets if someone were to actually fall on his/​her head. Speed of service did not match up to quality.

Bikes are pretty bad. After two tries they still have me one with a seat that won’t stay in place and almost flat tire. The girl I was with got a seat that wouldn’t go up or down.

This place is great. I bought a Groupon for $ 29 for a full tune-​up. 100% worth it. They did a tune-​up and then some and told me that now that I was in the system, I could have that price for a year. I will definitely be back for more tune-​ups. They were super friendly, did a great job, and had my bike in and out in no time!

Got the Groupon for a tuneup. Definitely worth it. They cleaned all the gunk that had built up on my bike over the years, and tightened everything that was loose. Noticeable improvement in my ride. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
