… Reality tv Show are way better than real life… Liked the lobster tail desert. Ah no place to seat! Not too crazy after all I rather stay with my Dulce de Leche cake from Mishas Miami.

Was I psyched to see this at The Port Authority. As a TLC fan, Carlo’s was definitely on my list of places to try. I only wish I had a cooler so I could have tried a variety of things.
Sad to say, I was not impressed. Ok, in fairness, I only bough a cannoli & cookies for my kids. And, this is a satellite location, not the main bakery.
That being said, as an Italian, I was disappointed in the cannoli. The pastry was almost oily tasting. And the filling was runny & lacking richness; all I tasted was sweet.
My kids loved the cookies. I can’t attest to them; I didn’t try them.
I really wanted to love it, but I didn’t. Next time I’m in NY, I’ll go to the main bakery… and bring a cooler

2^nd time to this bakery. Loved the last cske. This time our vanilla buttercream cake was good. Not great, just goid. Could have gotten this elsewhere.
The one star is for service. I took a number and stood by the whole cake section. A lady that came in behind me was offered assistance with her cake order. I then asked if they were going by numbers. I was told no. Thus infuriated me. One girl walked around on her cell phone acting busy while 20 people waited.
Finally the girl on the phone said we are going to go by numbers now. I was next as I had the lowest number. Not sure how many people that came in after me had been helped.
Then we were all told to move. They wanted everyone in a line formation. Really?
My turn came. I ordered our entire cake, nothing written on it. Went to pay and was told I could not pay until the girl helping me input my order into the computer. This took another 10 minutes. So over this place.

Well I love the T.V. Show and pasing by here in NYC had to make the Taxi pull over to get out, hwoever for my gluten-​free fans (probably start calling you guys glutenators or something they were out all of their selections.
The floor upon entry was completely trashed and dirty, there was also about 50 people waiting and when you have to take a ticket to get your number called we opted to walk right back out the door. Our first impressions of Carlo was not pretty, however I would come back to try these gluten-​free treats he shall produce in my belly next time.

Excellent pastries and very clean establishment. The staff was friendly. Very enjoyable stopping in, checking out all those beautiful pastries. We tried the strawberry cheesecakes and the snowball cookies. They were as delicious as they look! We will definitely try it again!

Everything that everyone says in here is true. So delicious and full of flavor. Was great to visit this place. Only downside was how packed it was and waiting, but nice they had the number system.
I see Kelley R.‘s post next to mine with her detailing how it is all bland and not good. I’m not a chef and no clue how it’s made or should taste, I just know it tasted great to me.

Worst service ever and awful pastries. At least the place is very clean.
I don’t think much of this place. The show is for entertainment… This is just pricey and overrated. Save yourself some money and time. This is just a tourist trap.

Seeing the show I was excited to just try. I am from west coast so it was a must when I got to NY. We just came from Hawaii and so the prices were expected. I found the lobster tail to be delicious. After watching Buddy make them on the show for so long I was excited to try them. They did not disappoint me. They are huge. The canolli was okay. Didn’t expect it to taste bland. My kids loved them. I saw Grace. She was inside this location managing it. Costumer service reminded me of the show. They were fast and the people waiting were overcrowding the cash register area trying to see Grace and the employee yelled at them to back up. I found it funny. I am glad I got to go into a Carlos Bakery!

When I went to this place the lines here were very long. Everything I ordered tasted great but they are very disorganized here
They make every box to order
So when ever you order something that os when they make the box to put the items in
I ordered the famous Lobster tail pastry and a few cannolis very delicious also I loved the individual cheesecake
I love when you can get a single serving size of a cake
Especially cheesecake
Definitely worth coming here when you are in times square
Just be prepared to wait for a while here do not think this place is a typical bakery where u are in and out in 10 minutes

The wait was long. The desserts were bland, small, and overpriced.
The tiramisu was simply ladyfingers not soaked in rum and surrounding a bland cream dusted with chocolate. There was no layering, no texture, and no thought or effort at all.
The Oreo tower was like store bought chocolate sheet cake layered with cool whip with stale Oreos crumbled into it and topped with an even more stale Oreo on top.
All for $ 19.95 and 45 minutes of our time.
Meh.

Wait time was ridiculous! The cheesecake with strawberries was good, but still doesn’t hold a candle to Junior’s. Cannolis are very, very good!!! Red velvet was ok. Biggest complaint is the process of getting the order filled. I mean, it’s just not worth standing in the cake shop 1.5 hours and that’s with a number, to get any of these treats. I can only speak for the location near times square, but come on Carlos, don’t let the lack of employees ruin your business reputation. I honestly felt like I was in line at WalMart with what seemed like 50 people standing in line & only 2 employees working the front.

I had to checkout what this Cake Boss bakery was all about, so I decided to stop in this morning for a cannoli… clearly the breakfast of champions! I was fortunate that there was no crazy long wait and the staff was seemingly friendly. The cannoli was quite good and the rest of the bakery case looked very tempting too!

I can’t even describe how awful and disappointing this place was. During my recent visit to NYC, this was one of the place to visit due to their «reputation» for amazing pastry.
The bakery is located in Times Square so you know it’s going to be priced a bit higher, I wouldn’t have minded if the pastries were at least good. We arrived and there was almost no wait, there was a large party being helped before us, so this gave us (Hubby and I) time to decide what we wanted.
Food: we ordered lobster tails, profiterole, cannoli of course, and our drinks as pictured below. Everything was way too cold, which makes the pastries, mainly made of butter of course, very, very hard. We ate it only because we were hungry and had paid $ 33 for a pastry breakfast. It was horrendous, bland-​no flavor, actually yes, the cannoli had flavor, it tasted like lard— pure lard, to the point that the roof of my mouth was covered in grease, good thing I had the cappuccino to wash it down with– cappuccino was ok.
Ambience: It was not crowded and now I know why. Seating is not very guest friendly, there’s a counter area to eat standing up because there’s no stools, and ONE long table with approximately 8 chairs that was taken by a large family, the ones being served before us when we got there, and random chairs.
Service: the family before us were having some issues with their orders and getting all the items they ordered, a couple of employees where trying to figure out the order and items to serve them. Our order had no issues and were served promptly. The one star rating is based on the service.
Obviously I will not be returning to this bakery, nor do I recommend it, I actually tell people visiting NYC not to waste their time and money. Very disappointing. :(

Curiosity. That is what brought me here.
I heard about long lines and wait time for your number (on cue) to be called.
It was good, but I have had better .

Underwhelming is the first word that comes to my mind to describe Carlo’s Bakery in NYC.
First of all I’m not gonna lie and say I didn’t want to try this place because of Buddy and his franchise. I remember when I first saw his show, fell in love with his family & I’m impressed with how far he’s come and all his success.
However, I won’t let all that sway me with my review of the actual cakes that I’ve tried today. This location is in Times Square – high traffic and prime area. They work on a ticket system so you grab a ticket when you walk in and it has a letter before the numbers. It took me approximately 5 minutes after standing in that crowded bakery before I made sneak of the confusion. I grabbed I87 and they were on H90 when I noticed the box showing the numbers. I thought to myself OMG I’m going to be standing here until next week to place my order! However it seems a lot of people either left or just wasn’t hearing their numbers being called. I remember reading a previous review where the person said if you pick up a number on the floor you might get lucky and that’s what I did. Until I realized they don’t check your tickets when they call you. So the next number they called and no one came forward I kindly said yes that’s me and placed my order! Wrong but sorry lol I had to hurry up the process.
I ordered a small strawberry cheesecake, carrot cake cupcake and a red velvet cupcake. The girl took my order and told me they would call my name by the register when it was ready. (Mind you everything is already made and in the glass case). The wait was close to 20 minutes after I ordered and I thought that was crazy. The entire experience was over 35 minutes and I skipped a bunch of people. It’s crazy in there. I tried to order a water and they said they sold out –_​– they sell a bunch of Buddy paraphernalia and souvenirs. Anything from a t-​shirt to a coffee mug-​all overpriced.
The cakes are DRY to say the least. Over frosted & I was very disappointed. The hype surrounding this place had me so excited and it’s just blah :/​honestly I would forewarn everyone not to be in a hurry to waste your time and hard earned money!

Be prepared to wait!
Went to the one in the city and was overwhelmed in terms of what was being offered and how the location worked. The store does not work with your typical line system but with a ticketed numbering system. Try to find a number on the floor, I did and skipped a lot of people. Seems other people didn’t want to wait and just left. The staff is very friendly and polite while tending to what you want with your order. I went here with a friend to get a birthday cake for a friend and there were a good amount of options that were prepared. There are even other smaller options for the moment such as small cupcakes, pastries, or clothing. There is even the option to full customize a order from the ground up or just adding small amount of details to a prepped one. Overall great choice in terms of desserts and the quality.

Soy una friki pastelera empedernida, por lo que llevaba un listado de sitios dulces antes de emprender mi viaje a NY. Carlo’s estaba en la lista desde el principio, ya que tengo la suerte de que me seguía en Instagram desde hacía varios meses y eso para mi era todo un honor ya que bien conocidos son sus cannoli por todo el mundo, como para que me siga A MI. El caso es que uno de nuestros días allí teníamos una excursión que casualmente salía desde la calle de al lado del Carlo’s, así que fuimos a desayunar.
No había mucha variedad, y lo que había era carito. Nos decidimos por un bollo de pecanas (que aquí en España cuesta verlas) y una cupcake de Oreo.
Eso y dos cafés nos vino a salir por 20 dolares, pero bueno, cosas que hace una cuando sale de viaje.
El bollo de pecanas estaba impresionante. La masa de bollería una de las mejores que he probado, y pocas no han sido. La cupcake estaba muy rica, lo que pasa es que no me sorprendió porque parecía que me estaba tomando una de las mías (cosa que me alegró, que me salgan como en esta gran pastelería, la verdad). Dijimos de volver otro día a por un cargamento «pecanil» pero en NY hay tantos sitios que vale la pena seguir probando y más si solo se tiene una semana, que eso es poquísimo para una ciudad de sus características.
En resumen, hay que hacer una visita a Carlo’s para el bollo ese o para uno de sus canoli, que también tienen su fama!

Having watched many episodes of Cake Boss I had to visit this place. It looks amazing, and there are tons of different options for those with a sweet tooth (and for people wanting to eat something savory as well).
The prices are high, the products are just fine. I ordered a cannoli, cupcakes and eclairs, and didn’t find them that relevantly good.
For those fellow watchers of the show, a lot of merch is sold in the cashier. Buddy is indeed a great businessman (like someone had previously reviewed).

We were in the mood for a late night dessert and stopped in around 11 pm on Sunday despite the mediocre Unilocal reviews. It was still very busy but we got lucky and did not have to wait to place our order after someone gave us a ticket that was called next (wish that would happen at the secretary of state/​DMV!)
We ordered:
— cannoli — filling was creamy and sweet, somehow topping Eataly’s version.
— custard cream puff — fluffy pastry and delicious custard filling
— carrot cake slice — did not contain nuts (yay!) and had a heavy amount of cream cheese in the frosting but did not take away from the cake once rationed out between bites
— oreo cupcake — left something to be desired as it was refrigerator cold, dry, and lacking the sweet cookies ‘n cream flavor I was looking for.
— chocolate moose turnover thing — rich and hit the spot for my preggo friend :)
— bag of cookies to go — traditional Italian bakery cookies; I’ve only tried the flower shaped cookie with a dab of jelly and it was one of the better ones I’ve ever had
For all of this, we walked out with a $ 51 tab.
Regardless if you’re a Cake Boss fan or not, if you want dessert have patience (like anywhere near Times Square) go in and try it! It’s fun and full of energy in there.

Time Square!
Really busy location but did not disappoint. The cream puffs had a nice cold filling of creamy custard and the éclair was crispy on the outside!
Also got a cappuccino to wash it all down! The coffee was mediocre but it wasn’t anything amazing or spectacular!
There was enough seating at the place to sit and eat but it was still pretty busy. A lot of traffic in and out.

3 stars for location, selection of pastries/​desserts, and great taste! No star for value– too expensive. And no star for service and efficiency. I guess I can blame the patrons for not knowing what they want hence making others wait too long for their turn but I think they should have more staff (???). I waited 12 minutes to be served. That’s like a lifetime for me
I had the chocolate and strawberry mousse tower for $ 7.95. It was great! The mousse was light and airy, not too sweet and the cake and strawberry were a complete balance to this dessert. I just think it’s way too expensive because it wasn’t a very generous serving. The chocolate cupcake’s cake was a bit dry for my taste.
Their other cakes looked so Delish but for $ 9.95 for a personal cake, I passed.
There’s tons of seating inside and it’s a block away from Times Square and surrounded by other restaurants and public trans. Excellent location!

Uma dica bacana para quem vai passear ou a negócios em NYC, é apreciar o Cake Boss Café, na 8^th Av, Times Square, e os famosos Canoles e Bolos do Buddy Valastro!!! Tive a oportunidade de prová-​los!!! ÚNICO, posso afirmar! Durante a semana, até tranquilo para frequentar, mas costuma estar cheio. Os preços que são um pouco «salgados » !
Mas vale a pena!!! A média é de U$ 10,00. Quanto ao atendimento até me surpreendi na primeira vez, por ser bem divertido. No segundo, totalmente contrário !!!

Pas du tout accroché et pourtant tout est réuni pour que je sois normalement conquise. C’est en plein Times square, c’est a environ 5 mètres de là où l’on prend les bus pour retourner au Canada ou aller dans d’autres villes nord américaine donc petite pause gourmande en attendant l’heure du départ et pourtant ce n’est pas vraiment un bon souvenir. La deuxième étoile vient du fait que le personnel est super sympa tous autant qu’ils sont.
Lorsqu’on entre, c’est assez grand et pourtant il n’y a qu’une table, alors oui c’est une assez grande table mais il n’y en a qu’une alors qu’il y a plein de place mais l’espace n’est pas du tout utilisé. Il y a une sorte de grand bar sur tout le côté mais aucune chaise haute donc franchement je n’en voit pas trop l’utilité car du coup on a pas trop envie de s’attarder si c’est pour rester 30 minutes debout parce qu’évidemment avec une seule table c’est tout de suite vite remplie et il y a vite plus aucune chaise de dispo mais bon.
Côté nourriture, j’ai pris un grand cookie aux smarties, et un gros beignet aux pommes. Alors le cookie était juste archi fade, on né sentait rien du tout j’avais l’impression de mâcher de la pâte cartonnée, ce n’était vraiment pas bon. Le beignet ça allait mais franchement rien d’exceptionnel non plus. Par rapport à la qualité des produits et le fait qu’il n’y avait aucun service je trouve les prix un peu élevés. Après j’avoue qu’il y avait quand même pas mal de cupcake qui me faisait de l’oeil donc j’ai peut être juste fait des mauvais choix pour le petit creux du matin en attendant mon départ de NY.
