Call Paul to Haul

Paul and Mat moved a couch for me today and they were brilliant. No drama, efficient, super nice and friendly, fairly priced. Couldn’t ask for better people. Would recommend to anybody I like.

Paul is as good as it gets. He is honest, reliable, smart and great to work with. He’s competitively priced, too. You won’t be disappointed. He has moved us twice — each time with no trouble. Even an overheated engine didn’t get him down. Paul handled it and got right back to work. Will never use anyone but Paul.

I have moved 9 times in Manhattan and Brooklyn. Paul and his helper Claude were the best movers i have ever hired. Paul is very efficient and very fast but at the same time very careful He made the stressful event calm, easy and smooth. I was so happy i hired them and i would highly recommend them to anyone.

Absolutely amazing company – Paul has a great team! They moved my bedroom from Brooklyn to Manhattan in no time, charged a flat rate, and I couldn’t be happier. When there was elevator trouble, they picked up my furniture and started carrying it down the stairs themselves – true professionals, they are completely unflappable. They made my move stress free (or as stress-​free as any move in NYC can be). Highly recommend!

Paul is wonderful! If you need a mover, you need someone like him, he is a great help and is very understanding as well. His assistants (Matt and Claude) are also great. Paul has moved me 5 times in the past ten years, he is the only mover I have ever used since coming to NYC– Why? You may ask — His prices are super affordable compared to other moving companies, I mean very affordable. He is very experienced, knows how to handle all of your delicate pieces. He is super efficient as well, his assistants don’t slack, they do a really good job. He responded promptly when I contacted him to organize each of my moves. He is very prompt as well, on the 5 occasions he has moved me, he arrived at the time he said he would arrive; super consistent.
He does ‘all-​size’ moves. When I started out he was moving me from Studio to Studio, then to one-​bedroom, and eventually to two bedroom apartments. We did two rounds to get my stuff from one place to the other, but all in all, very efficient. You won’t be disappointed if you call Paul. I will definitely call him again, if moving next time.
Try him, don’t waste you money on anyone else!!!

It’s not because of just one thing that these guys did for me on my moving day. It’s not just because they arrived early and made a game out of remembering the elevator pass codes at my storage space, which brought me back from the brink of panic. It’s not just because Paul did my move on his day off and Matt gave me his seat in the van on the ride to my new space in a different borough. I recommend these guys to everyone! I had Paul, Claude and Matt move my bedroom and they did a fantastic job. They’re all very chill and easy to talk to, as well as courteous and professional. The move itself was QUICK, efficient and the price was right.

In a city where it’s just accepted that movers will overcharge you while brutalizing your stuff, Call Paul to Haul is a notable exception. I can’t recommend them more for taking a stressful situation of moving a high end refrigerator in and out of tight quarters from one apt to another a relaxing experience. NYC presents moving challenges like not other city, but that’s just a puzzle to be solved for Paul and company. Each challenge was met with calm problem solving and a positive attitude. The entire crew of three guys were great and their service fairly priced. I will definitely call them next time.

Paul and his guys recently came to help me move my apartment, and I would recommend them to anyone. They’re friendly, sweet, fast and efficient.
During the move, the guys forgot the bed head for my IKEA bed on the street outside the apartment I was moving out of, and didn’t realize until we’d arrived and started moving into the new place. I know how that sounds, but wait until you hear the rest of the story.
Paul immediately went back to get the bed head – being Bushwick, it was obviously long gone. So after moving all my things into the new apartment, Paul went all the way to IKEA to buy a new bed head at his own expense. When he came back, the bed head didn’t fit (IKEA had changed the fittings) so – and this is where I can’t commend him more – he sent one of his guys BACK to IKEA to get the right pieces. I only wish I could remember the name of the guy who went back. He was so lovely!
After starting at 11, the guy who had to go to IKEA TWICE finished up at around 9pm. He even put the bed together for me. The whole time, there were no complaints, no moaning, only smiles and kindness. I honestly didn’t expect that level of service. Sure, they messed up, but it was an honest mistake and most people wouldn’t have gone to the trouble that Paul went to to fix it. The whole time Paul was in contact via phone making sure I was taken care of.
Even though I can’t imagine the stress Paul and co were under on the day, they kept their cool and were personable and polite the entire time. It was such a lovely experience to feel like my movers had my best interests genuinely at heart. I would recommend Paul to Haul to ANYONE in a heartbeat.

During our move, he was very personable, informative, and efficient. On top of that, they’re the friendliest people ever. I felt more like my friends were helping me move than hired movers. They were so gentle with my boxes that I didn’t worry a bit about anything breaking.
When I moved in, my roommates and friends’ first comments were, «Wow, your movers are so nice. how’d you find them?»
That says a lot! They’re not just good at moving, they’re men of character!

Paul and his crew have helped me move a year ago and they were awesome — incredibly friendly, very efficient, and affordable for young and not-​so-​employed folks like ourselves. This weekend they helped my boyfriend move and again were totally great. They even disassembled his Ikea bed and reassembled it at the new apartment in the blink of an eye — it would have taken us forever to do it without their help!
As long as Paul and his guys are available I will not go with anyone else!

Paul and his crew are honestly the best. They are pleasant, friendly, professional, quick… I couldn’t ask for a better or easier move. They honestly made moving way less stressful and were just nice guys to be around. HIGHLY recommended and will definitely use them again!

I had the best possible experience with Paul, Matt, and Claude. I had one item I needed moved (full size bed) and Paul made a short notice appointment for me, and also gave me an extremely fair price! The day of my move, I had a mixup in times and Paul very calmly accommodated me. Matt and Claude did my actual move; they were quick, friendly, and efficient. I will definitely be using them again!

Paul and his team of laid-​back dudes are the best.
To clarify Matt’s earlier review, I used Paul FOUR times in as many years. From Park Slope to Washington Heights, to a storage unit, to the West Village, to schleping stuff 90 miles north of the city, Paul has moved it all! Without so much as a ding or a scratch.
I was shocked how much stuff he and his team fit in the van, and how quick they work! He’s really the best, and super reliable, and friendly.
Also, I loved how simple and transparent the website and his fees were. No hidden costs for extra supplies, etc.

Definitely call Paul to help you move. Paul and Colin moved me within three hours from Queens to Jersey City. Much thanks again to to Paul for being willing to head over the bridge! They were gentle with my stuff, quick, efficient and super friendly and nice.

Paul and his helper were fantastic– super nice on the phone, 30 minutes early, careful with my things, and finished the whole move in 2 hours total. He gave me a three hour minimum rate but that’s fine with me– totally worth it and very reasonable price. Would definitely recommend for a smaller move (was just my room), but would unfortunately need someone else if you had a big apartment and couch. Thanks, Paul!

I hate writing this, Paul was very nice and I was happy with my move until I started to unpack my stuff. Turns out they didn’t wrap my mattress in protective plastic wrap as promised — simply stuck it on-​top of the van and strapped it down. It’s a 4 month old $ 900 mattress with a $ 150 bed bug protector. The mattress was fine but the bed protector is ripped in two spots and ridiculously dirty. Ripped protector = voided warranty.
Great guy and my other belongings were in great shape — just can’t overlook this needless mistake.

The only reason I’m giving Paul and his staff one star less is because after I told them the amount of stuff that my roommate and I had they brought only a small truck. Maybe this is all they had, but I guess I assumed they had a larger truck. The smallish truck added on an extra trip that needed to be made and tacked on an extra hour (making the move would cost more).
While that was very frustrating, Paul was extremely nice, on time, and speedy.
