Delivery from Bobby Van’s burger was a complete disaster. We ordered 7 burgers, fries, onion rings and a salad. The food arrived 45 minutes late and it was tightly packed in one bag. The burgers were smashed and deformed. The french fries were cold and they steamed in the bag that they were placed in, the onion rings were also packed in the same bag as the fries and they were complete mush and they forgot to deliver the salad. The phone attendant said the next time the meal would be on them and that I would receive an email from the manager. I never received an email from the manager, therefore I called him and when I spoke with him one week later they changed their offer and refused to re do the order free of charge. Based on this experience I will not order from there again and I cannot recommend them.

Really delicious. Came here for work and got a nice meal, courtesy of work, so even better!!! Apps: Got the buffalo wings and my coworker got the french onion soup. They were both delicious but the french onion soup was top notch. I really like buffalo wings but if you had to choose one, I would go with the soup. Entre: I got the chipotle ribeye(off the menu, but ask anyway.) We got creamed spinach, aspargus and the mushrooms. These sides were delicious, but the creamed spinach was so good. The steak was cooked to perfection and I cannot believe I finished that big steak. I immediatley went home and took a nap. Overall: Great food and service.

Not At All What I Expected… Came here at the recommendation of our Concierge at the Millennium Broadway Hotel, just steps away from Bobby Vans. We had 5:15 reservations before heading to Aladdin for my daughters 16th birthday. Upon walking in, we were informed that there was a malfunction in the kitchen that they were working on fixing, and as a result, they were not able to cook any hot food. They were hoping to have things fixed in the next 20 – 30 minutes and would be sure to keep us posted since the knew we had a show to be to at that started at 7:00. So, being the first customers in the restaurant, we ordered shrimp cocktail and nibbled on bread while waiting for the kitchen to be fixed. Shortly thereafter at around 5:40, the manager approached and informed us that the kitchen was up and running so hot food could be ordered. We immediately ordered salmon and steak along with Mac and cheese, Fries and spinach. At the time, there was only one other table at the restaurant with us, so we had no concerns about being served on time to make our show. The restaurant started to get busy and eventually became very crowded with the after work and theater crowds, yet, we still had not received our food. I felt much better after server stopped over and reassured us that ‘it would just be another minute’ until our dinner arrived. 20 minutes later, it was now 6:34, almost one hour since we’d ordered, and the food came out.cold. My petite filet, ordered medium rare, was a full medium and cold to the touch. The salmon was the same. At this point, it was too late to wait for a remake so asked the server to take it back and to please bring the check, we had 15 minutes until showtime and had to run. We paid for everything but the steak and as we hustled out the door, an older gentleman, assuming the owner, leaned over towards us and said, «Sorry about the steak.» I replied with«Hey, it happens,» and walked out the door. Really? I’m not sure if that was the owner, GM or who, but he looked like he probably should’ve stopped over to our table instead of on our way out the door. As Chicago steak people, we most certainly expected more from this highly recommended NY steak joint. Being that we were the first patrons in the restaurant, with 5:15 reservations, we felt a few things could’ve been handled differently. 1) They could’ve called us at 5 to inform us of the kitchen malfunction. 2) We were the first patrons in the restaurant; yet, it took almost one hour to get the food out, and when it did it was cold. They could’ve offered a gift card for future use. 3) Finally, Mr. Wonderful, at the door, could’ve made his way to the table to offer a genuine apology. Overall, this experience left a negative taste in our mouths.

Never again. As a Morton’s regular I thought I’d try something new. Big mistake! Awful service. My steak, while cooked to my liking was cold. Very disappointed.

Fine place to go when someone else is buying lunch. In the same building where I work, which makes it really convenient. Never had any issues, will return.

Delicious food. Normally I hate mushrooms, but I got the Chicken Marsala and fell in love! They give great portions for the entrees and their desserts are to die for! Warning: they charge per bottle for sparkling water so don’t drink too much.

Cosy bar with an appropriate selection for a stake house. The food was pretty good as expected, but nothing stood out. Prices are quite high, but portions are on a larger side as well. Our waiter was friendly and helpful. Ambiance outside the bar area reminded me of a conference room set up with tables for a catered meeting.

Ambiance is nice in a good location. Service was average which is surprising at this price point. The food was very disappointing. We both ordered Chilean sea bass with mushrooms, Bok Choy and asparagus. Told the server it was the most flavor-LESS meal we ever had. Server’s response was, «thank you». Won’t be visiting this place again.

Lunch during restaurant week offered a three course fixed price menu. Instead, I opted for the steak salad. It was tasty, but nothing outstanding. What was most memorable was the noise level. We were on the second floor, seated against the wall and it was quite difficult to have a conversation. Would I go again? Probably not.

Food service and atmosphere top shelf… friendly and attractive hostess to greet you as you enter… and it was all uphill from there.

Came here after a show. The ambiance was nice. The restaurant décor was indicative of rich hues & tones often found in steakhouses. While the décor was rich and vibrant the service was slow & slack. After getting seated, it took the waiter 10 minutes to take our order &40 min for our food to come. We had to ask twice for our food and was told our food would be out momentarily, yet we still waited another 20 min. We actually all ordered the 12 oz burger. The burger was flavorful & good but way to big. The waiter explained due to the size of the burger, the cooking time was lengthy. I feel we should have been informed of this when we placed our order, not 40 min later. The food was ok, but not worth the wait. Needless to say, we had to get our food packaged to go as we had a train to catch.

This place is the Donald Trump of steakhouses– all pretence and nothing below the belt. It’s another example of a restaurant with an inverse relationship of quality to price. My $ 56 ribeye was over-cooked, under-seasoned, and tasteless throughout. The plated presentation of our meals was boring and thoughtless, on par with the effort and value-added proposition of a twig of parsley. Its proximity to the theater district’s endless supply of out-of-towners is the only explanation I have for how a restaurant like this survives in NYC.

What a joke! Started off with getting a bread basket that had two stale rolls, and 2.5 cheap and stale sesame bread sticks, two plus half of a broken bread stick that had been tossed in. I get better bread with dinner at local coffee shops. Bad service, waiter was not to be seen. when we did get the waiter’s attention he was short with us, he did not care. My wife had a steak, flavor was ok, but no steak knife(the steak was not tender, it needed a steak knife). I had the roast beef hash, no flavor. Avoid this location. Over priced for the service and food.

Out of bread for resturant week! Went here for restaurant week, my friend had the salmon and I, the steak. Both were terrible, there was no bread(they didn’t even bring fries), the atmosphere stuffy and confined. The service was terrible, totally embarrassed i took someone here. Next time I’m going to Mortons. This place totally sucks…

Came to Bobby Vans on Friday for date night and plus restaurant week is still going on so why not take advantage of it. It’s a really nice restaurant and our waiter was cool but the food was okay nothing to go crazy over. The bread was cold, tough, and hard to chew but the butter was nice and creamy. The steak was good it came with a bed of mash potatoes my boyfriend had the Tilapia which was well seasoned. The best part of my dinner was my lemon drop martini it was really really good after two I felt great lol. For dessert I had the pecan fudge cake which was okay the fudge was over powering but the cake part was delicious. The cheesecake was bland and not tasty. Overall my experience was okay I was told that the one on 54th is the best location so maybe I’ll try that one next if I choose to go again.

Review for Restaurant Week dinner only: It’s a good place to get your steak fix at a decent price during the restaurant week. The caprese salad was decent(they served a big portion of burrata but a little skimpy on the cherry tomatoes and the greens weren’t too fresh) and my friend did enjoy her heavily sauced caesar salad. The filet mignon was simple and tasty though. Well cooked and came with mashed potatoes. The cheesecake for dessert is perfect although the carrot cake was just a-ok. A drink, 3 course steak dinner, and 20% tip will come to about $ 60 per person.

Traveling with friends and was staying at the Hyatt across the street from this restaurant so decided to try it. The Food Was Awful! Three of us ordered steaks and the temperature was wrong on each of them, the lobster ravioli was undercooked! The french fries that was served with the steaks, was disgusting! Several people remarked that you can get better at McDonalds! Our waiter(who did not introduce himself) was missing at several points during out meal and so was unable to address meal issues and drink orders. My advice, Capital Grille, Morton or Del Frisco’s Grill!

The food was good, but not great. The wife and I did not want to travel too far from our hotel on our last night in the city so we went across the street to Bobby Van’s. The atmosphere was inviting and intimate, done in wood with upstairs and and downstairs dinning. We started with the tuna tartare. The tuna was fresh but it was covered with a green sauce. The sauce was a strange color of green, it didn’t taste bad it was just a strange color. I order the Filet Oscar and my wife ordered the filet. We got a side of Mac and cheese. The steak was good, but not great. It was not the best piece of meat I’ve ever had as it was a bit stringy, but the crab was very good. The same can be said about my wife’s steak. The Mac and cheese was okay, nothing innovative. Overall, it was good not great and the price was high. For the same price there are better steakhouses on the island.

Its a good steak, but this is New York, and there are many better. I went one evening with some co-workers and there was no atmosphere — their high prices put off all but the corporate lunchtime crowd which is when they’re busy. I had a 140z Filet Mignon which was decent as was the creamed spinach but the mashed potatoes were lumpy and reminded me of my own! Do yourself a favor and go to Del Frisco’s around the corner or better still Quality Meats

Sigh… really wanted to like this place. Actually, the food was great. I had a gorgonzola steak, which was amaze-balls. Hubby’s filet was just as great, as was the caesar salad. However, what brought everything down was our server. We were seated at 9:30, and this guy could have cared less about us. Maybe we screamed«tourist» but that was no excuse. Also, he cared more about doing his«close down» duties(tables, utensils, etc.) than even making eye contact with us. He hurriedly swept in and out, with barely a word. This left a most unpleasant taste in my mouth, despite my delicious steak. Wish I could remember his name so I could warn y’all to avoid him. Thankfully, our second server, who right away asked where we came from(see, we apparently reeked of tourist), was so nice and friendly and accommodating. Jerk boy left before we finished our meal, and I wasn’t disappointed by that in the least. So, yay for the food, boo for server #1, yay for server #2. Rounded down to a 3-star experience, because the hostess sat us a two-top near the front door, so we were blasted with freezing air every time someone entered or left. Boooo! With all the great choices in NY, there’s no way we’ll go back here, even if our hotel is right across the street like it was this time around.
