Service at a nail spa can vary from tech to tech. That being said, I got my pedi from Grace and she was worth every star in this review.
Attentive, polite, efficient without rushing, offered options without being pushy.
Grace nailed it.

I come here every Monday– and have for the last almost three years. I love my manicures, pedicures and getting my eyebrows done. I always get compliments on my nails and its a part of my weekly routine I won’t miss!

This was a really, really nice experience. I want to preface this by saying that I would definitely have given 5 stars if it weren’t for the $ 20 minimum to use a credit/​debit card. Not a fan of that!
Grace was my technician for my manicure, and was very attentive, kind and gentle. She kept asking me what I wanted and made sure I was comfortable. When I couldn’t find the color I wanted, she went and picked a handful of colors around what I wanted and brought them to me. Overall a very nice process, and very clean and well-​kept.
About halfway through my manicure when I asked the woman who seemed to be the owner/​manager if tips were cash only, she told me yes, so I told her I would run down a couple of blocks to the bank to get some cash. But then when Grace asked me to pay, she told me about the $ 20 minimum (I ended up adding a 10 min. massage to make up for it, which was very nice and comfortable) and since I had no idea about the minimum/​tips, they let me add the tip to my card so that I wouldn’t have to «run to the bank in the cold». I found that to be very considerate and a nice gesture.
I’ll definitely be back — normally I go to a place that only charges $ 10.50 for manicures with no card minimum, but the level of tidiness and attentiveness is well worth the extra $ 3.50/$ 4.00.

They are so rushed, rude, and careless.
I had dirty water for my pedicure and scolding hot water. The lady was looking every where except my feet. She was filing my skin instead of my toe nails.
Then after a 10mnt bad job I was told its 8 dollars to lightly buff my toe nails.
Total rude rip off!

Terrible extensions. Cost me 126 bucks, she glued my upper and lower kids together and most of them fell out within 24 hours. Such a waste of money, I will never go back

Come to Blooming Nails if you want to treat yourself to a nice mani/​pedi and a massage. I got a manicure ($ 14) which is a little above average priced, but they provided lovely service. They put your hands in gloves with lotion while cleaning up your nails and someone gives your an amazing 1 minute massage that leaves you wanting 10 more minutes, which cost $ 15. James gave me the massage and it was worth every penny. While getting my nails done, the massage was so much needed and left me in a very relaxed mode.
In short, the nail service was slightly above average, but what made me enjoy the visit was the massage.

If I could rate this place 0 stars I would. I came in for a fill in and was charged $ 91 plus tip. My fill in was terrible and they never even stated the price. DO NOT GO THERE. I would be pissed to pay $ 20 for their service let alone $ 100. Disgusting.

Gel manicure was terrible and EXTREMELY overpriced — it cost $ 55 and peeled off in 5 days. She did an awful job. Some of my nails had bubbles and I asked her to re-​do 1 nail and she gave me so much attitude and basically refused so I decided not to make a big deal about it and just leave a 10% tip on an awful manicure/​rude customer service. Will not be going back for manicure/​pedicure. 20 minute back massage was amazing.

Overpaid for a TERRIBLE manicure. I was rushed and not the level of service I had previously experienced at the salon. One hour after I left I had to remove ragged cuticle from nails and the polish was uneven. On a positive note, the 10 minute massage I had during manicure was excellent!

Get a massage (15 mins in the chair) from Eric. Your life will never be the same.
I also got a green tea pedi, which was great. The only reason I didn’t have five stars is because whirlpool basins are germ breeding havens, and they didn’t use liners. However, everything seemed clean enough.
I’m going back to see Eric tomorrow. I might propose.

Beautiful atmosphere and feels very zen! Agreed with other reviews that prices are a bit higher than other local salons but you pay or what you get. I had Dolma for my services and she was very thorough and did a fantastic job!

Horrible wax experience. first the wax was too cold then too hot and then burned my skin. Then they brought the boss to come in and help out. The boss was so rude to the staff. The person at the front desk/​cashier must be the store owner. I have never seen anyone so rude t othe staff. she treated the staff like animals. I don’t mind if the person was inexperience trying to learn waxing on me however, I mind when I see how horrible the staff is being treated. To make matters worse the owner said, we don’t accept credit cards. This was for a bill over $ 100 but they claim they accept credit card. Also they are so pushy with the back massages. I stoped getting my nails done there because my manicure would wear off in one day. Anywhere else it would take at least 5 – 7 days for the color to wear off. I do not recommend this place. I have been coming here for several months after I moved back to Manhattan and couldn’t find a salon that did biosculpture gel in my neighborhood. I used to go to their sister salon near 42^nd.
Firstly, everything is VERY expensive — even for NYC prices. The people who work here are nice. My nails are done well enough (though I have noticed they have been «skipping» a step now and again. The massages are nice.
What really just ended it for me today was another, probably the 3^rd time that they have given me a hard time about the tip. Now, I am a generous tipper. I am very loyal to the people I have regular services from and I am fair and kind. The girl herself was polite and fine — it’s the ladies who check you out who are passive aggressive with the «tip suggestions». I find this insulting, obnoxious and downright tacky. Today, I had a $ 200+ bill (!) for which I gave my mani/​pedi girl 20%. I also had a chair massage ($ 45). I handed her a $ 10 and asked her to break it. She refused and kept saying «oh this is for (name of massage guy)». I said again, yes can you break it? She AGAIN ignored me and while I was putting the tip for the girl in an envelope, she took the entire $ 10 and put it in the guy’s envelope. I was planning on leaving him 15−18% which for a back massage while I’m getting my nails done (30 min) really doesn’t seem cheap.
I really hope that management here reads my and other customer reviews. I am not someone who is cheap or refuses to pay for good service. But I refuse to be made to feel uncomfortable every time I visit.
Have found another salon close to my home — they’ve lost a good customer.

I’ve been to other Bloomie Nail locations around the city and they are generally pretty decent. But this one is subpar despite the Park Ave location.
Today I went in for a mani pedi during lunch. They were on the busy side but said 5 minute wait. I obliged and 20 mins later I’m still sitting in the pedicure chair with no acknowledgement. I got up to leave — figured I would grab lunch and return — and manager ran over and said «she coming now.» Another 10 mins later and the technicians finally came over one for the mani one for the pedi. I should have escaped when I had the chance…
After trying to up sell the various spa pedicures/​manicures I replied that I don’t have the time because I waited so long. Apparently they took this as the cue to do a super sloppy rush job. Basically I paid $ 56 to dunk my feet in cold water (apparently scrubbing is part of the spa pedicure only) and have nailpolish haphazardy slapped on my feet and hands. I even asked the nail tech to fix one of my nails and instead she said «top coat fix it…» #FAIL #DONTBOTHER

If I could give this salon a zero star rating for what I just experienced, I would! Let me explain. I have been going to this salon loyally for 4 or so years. I always minded the fact that employees seemed a bit condescending and spoke in other languages in snickering tones, but the service used to be good.
I went in today (mid-​day during the middle of the week) as it was my birthday and I wanted to get my nails done. The technician tried to up sell me as usual and I kept declining. I was there with my husband and we were talking about how it was my birthday. The technician all of a sudden offers a «free» ten minute leg massage and I was taken aback. I asked her specifically, whether she was sure that it was free and she said YES. My husband asked again just so that we could be triple sure and she said YES.
Fast forward a few minutes later and the technician started stating that the massage was not free and that nothing in the store was free. The technician started pretending that she spoke no English and could no longer understand me. She called over the manager who also started yelling at me that nothing was free. I was slotted to get a mani/​pedi and I asked the manager to finish up the pedi so that I could leave. The manager finished up my pedicure and again apologized for the other technician misunderstanding me and for the unnecessary confusion. I took that as a sign that the matter was resolved… so when then manager asked if I wanted to go ahead with the manicure. I said OK.
Once we finish up and go to pay, what do we see? That’s right, a big fat added amount for the massage that I never wanted! The owner and the manager, acknowledged that I had been a customer for years but still took up the technician’s side. The manager insisted that I misunderstood the technician and I was at fault so I should continue to pay for the service (which the technician never finished. the pedi or the massage).
Why is it MY fault that the technician had poor English and misunderstood my questions? Why is it MY fault that this establishment tries to nickel and dime their clients and I chose to say no? The bottom line is, they would try to charge you an extra cost for clean vs. dirty towels (if they could). They would try to charge you an extra cost for hot vs. cold water (if they could). Stay away and go to an establishment that values their loyal clients!
Oh yeah, thanks for ruining my birthday!!!

I had never come here before as I always felt like it was overpriced. However, I work so close and my friend got me a gift certificate for my birthday. I had really high hopes considering the price and how beautiful it looks inside.
Well the manicure was average (I liked the keratin gloves) but their attitude just made me totally uncomfortable. I was paying before polish and my manicure cost $ 14.95 and I figured the $ 5 remaining on my gift certificate would be the tip (which I feel is a very fair tip). Well they declined to accept as, pointing to their policy manual saying «our policy is that you cannot give tip from gift certificate». So I accepted, and they offered me $ 2 nail hardener and $ 2 quick dry which is also overpriced.
My friend told me nothing of this as she probably didn’t know either as when I got up after drying, I read the policies which said NOTHING about this. I brought it to their attention to which their apply was «Well it doesn’t say we DO accept». For the record, there weren’t any DO’s on that policy list!
In conclusion I don’t mind paying extra for good service and nice mannerism. But paying for lying and making me feel stupid is not worth it. No I will not be returning even with my $ 1 credit.

This nail salon is terrible with the up-​selling. I came in for a basic pedicure and felt like I was fighting a battle the entire time. I was shown the overpriced list of specialty pedicures first ($ 75-​$ 85), then had to flip the list over and insist TWICE that I just wanted the regular ($ 35) one.
I had the same experience as another Unilocaler with the masseuse. Again had to insist twice that I didn’t need a shoulder massage while my nails dried.
When I was ready to pay, they charged me $ 2 less than what was originally quoted, then noticed their error. I had no extra cash, so they suggested I use the ATM ($ 3 fee) next to the front counter.
Even though my pedicurist’s job was a little sloppy (nail polish on the skin of 2 of my toes) I did tip her, because I believe she was most likely instructed to up-​sell as much as she did. And we all have to make a living, right?
I will never go back.

I can not believe the service I actually received at this place. SHITTIEST POLISH CHANGE OF MY LIFE FOR A WHOPPING $ 32!!! I am sooooo pissed, I go here and the lady at the front is sweet and kind. She then leads me to a woman who was so rude it was disgusting. I wanted a french mani with a silver line and a design on each of my ring finger nails. As soon as she starts she’s unsmiling and short with me. When she messes up I correct her and she sucks her teeth. She actually managed to miss parts of my nail when painting them and when I pointed it out she gave me attitude (shaking her head in annoyance). Then she tells me to pay now before she started my nail which is normal and they charge me $ 32 FRICKIN DOLLARS!!! $ 5 for the french tip, $ 5 for the damn silver line, $ 5 EACH for the design, $ 11 dollars for the polish in general plus tax. I think to myself wow if its THIS expensive then they must be amazing right? WRONG WRONG SO F***ING WRONG!!! at the moment I tipped $ 3 or $ 4 thinking this is my first time with her and Im not sure how much of a good job she’s gonna do. AND THEN IT WAS OVER FOR HER, you can tell she was not satisfied with that tip at all, she gave me EVEN more attitude, sucking in her breath, and carelessly doing my nails. The finished product was SOOOO unprofessional looking, a 5 year old blind kid could have painted my nails better. The silver lines were crooked and she didn’t even do it all the way across my nail for some, the tip was sloppy and streaky looking, the flowers looked like she barely put effort into it, she painted over a piece of lint on my nail, and she filed my nails terribly to the point where they look slanted. I’m going to try and put photos on here. I’m so angry because I paid so much for something so crappy. I WISH I DIDNT tip that wench at all!!! NEVER GOING BACK UNLESS THIS STORE BRINGS IN REAL PROFESSIONALS FOR THIS PROFESSIONAL F*CKING BUSINESS AND PRICE!!! please don’t waste you money like I did people, I’ll try uploading a photo so you can see just how terrible of a job this lady did. I hate her. I put one photo of my bad nail job so you can at least see one example of why I’m so LIVID!!!

After a long time away from the nail salon it was such a treat to come here for a spa mani and pedi. A week long adventure out in nature can really do a number on your nails! :shudder:
My technician was so detailed and accommodating! She wanted to me to relax and enjoy the treatments. Oh, and relax I did. I felt so pampered after the multi-​process pedicure. My winter dry skin was soothe and my nails perfectly shaped. She made sure my finger and toe nails were completely dried before letting me go.
The service was amazing! I would definitely come back again.

I went here with my friend on a snowy Saturday afternoon. We walked in and were taken immediately. I got a mani and she got a pedi.
They have a great color selection which consists of mostly OPI and Essie.
While getting a mani, another manicurist will come up to you and start massaging your shoulders and back unannounced. I thought «oh this great. A mani AND back massage for $ 14». However, the back massage is a teaser and after a minute, you’re asked if you want to extend the massage for 10 minutes. No thank you!
Basic manicure, but the highlights include moisturizing gloves and the hot towel.
You’ll be up sold once again before your polish is added for a quick dry polish for extra money.
A good affordable mani. Very clean salon and clean bathroom (the truest mark of a great business).
FYI, Credit card is only accepted for $ 20 or more.
