QQ Nail Spa

Came in to relieve an ingrown big toe and I didn’t feel confident that they knew how to help me. I really had no choice since the holiday and many nail places weren’t open. I didn’t find their tools to be sterile, they used paper towels instead if towels. The callus file seems to be the same one they used on everyone. She also may have reused her gloves. I guess I must be accustomed to salons in CA which have much more sterile practice. Is this common in NY?

So far no complaints. A standard nail salon, standard prices, but larger in size and very clean with modern, up to date chairs and equipment.
Nice polish selection — good quality of work — good customer service.
They have a loyalty card, definitely get that.
Will return.

The only thing i found good about this place was the convenience to my Dr’s office. My simple pedicure turned out looking like the woman who did it was three sheets to the wind — completely sloppy and a day later im still trying to get nail polish off my toes. After a 20 minute conversation with the woman who runs the place about what kind of acrylic was used on my nails (I have no friggen idea) she agreed to fill them (how nice of her) and did a TERRIBLE job. You can see where the original acrylic ends underneath the new powder, the sides are uneven, and on some she didnt even fill it to the cuticle, looking like theyve already grown out. She didnt use any nail polish just slapped some clear coat on it and called it a day. For $ 60 though, Ill save myself the hassle of stepping foot back inside there. There’s 100 other nail places in the area — my suggestion is to keep walking.

1 star just because she was nice. But that’s it. I got my eyebrows done here today because it’s so close to my job. Huge mistake. She took 3 minutes for everything. Barely any tweezing. BUT! SHE GOT WAX IN MY HAIR. ALOT OF IT. She rubbed at my head dryly and basically spread it around in a lousy attempt to get it out. Said sorry, threw lotion on my eyebrows, and that was it. NEVER AGAIN.

Went in for a mani-​pedi. Cheaper than some of the other salons in the Flatiron District but still not worth the money.
Conny was impatient, careless and seemed preoccupied. She did a poor job both in filing and painting. My nails were filed uneven and she hurriedly splashed two coats of nail polish on, and when she herself messed one nail up, she didn’t remove the polish but tried fixing it instead. Result: very uneven.
The pedicure technique was very unpleasant for a customer whose soles tickle.
My regular nail salon is cheaper and better so I won’t be returning.

I’m not a Mani connoisseur but even I know a sub par mani when I see it. I had time to kill & this place had decent enough reviews so I walked in.
For $ 10 + 1.50 for taxes + tip, I got the most basic manicure ever. Watered down OPI polish, a 10 second hand massage that got over before I could even blink, no complimentary shoulder rub at the drying station (mentioned by other Unilocalers). Meh!
My manicurist was busy chatting with the owner & didn’t even glance up when I was leaving… forget about offering any basic courtesies like saying thanks & bye.
My nails look decent, but the over all experience left much to be desired. Will not be back.

Easy, quick, clean and close to my house. It’s clean and provides a basic, no frills manicures which is what I’m usually looking for. They can be busy at peak times but otherwise provide faulty fast service.

I’ve been frequenting this nail salon mostly because it’s convenient to my workplace. They do a decent job for the price so it serves my purpose. Today I stopped in because the manicure I had gotten 4 days ago had started to wear off the day after I got it and I wanted to have them re-​painted. Side note, I wear my nails quite short so this wasn’t a case of normal «wear and tear.» I asked the Manager if she could accommodate me and she said no. She told me it was normal. I explained how it is not normal as I noticed it the day after I got my manicure and this has never once happened in the 2+ years I have been going there. She then told me I should have some in that next day. I live uptown and was away for the holiday. I came in as soon as I could. I asked if she could make an exception as I wasn’t even asking for a full manicure, just a re-​paint which I stated I would tip them for. She again said no due to store policy. I reminded her that I was a frequent customer and asked her to please make an exception. Her answer again was no, this is our policy. I had to go so far as to reminder her that as the Salon Manager, it’s her right to change policy when warranted. Bottom line is, she didn’t want to. I will take my business elsewhere to an establishment that values their customers.

3.5 if it was an option… Iv come here a bunch of times mostly out convenience in location to work… The service is pretty standard and basic no frills, however they are clean which is really important to me, every file and buff set is individually packaged, and you can see the techs wash the pedicure tubs after each use.
Iv never had to wait more then ¹⁰⁄₁₅ minutes here (even on New Years Eve), you get a quick complimentary shoulder rub after the service and they have free candy at the dryer bar. The color selection is good but the gel selection is a bit more limited.

Perfect gel manicure done by Conny. She was efficient without rushing as well. I hate it when it takes an hour to get a gel manicure. She did it in about 30 minutes & it was flawless. She also gives a great shoulder massage while you are drying. Will definitely be back.

It was crowded and it was a Friday, I’ll give them that. However, I felt like a product on an assembly line getting a pedicure, being rushed through and roughed up as much as possible. I almost asked my technician what I did to deserve such harsh treatment. The pedicure tub was only filled about 2 inches, no massage to speak of. The staff was very nice, though, and I did get a good pedicure. Not relaxing at all.

Very nice staff and my pedicure is still perfect after two whole weeks! That never happens. It’s comparable in price to many others.

Don’t get Shellac done here. They have BUTCHERED my nails. She took a super coarse file and filed the surface of my nails down so hard, that they are now like blotting paper… It’s going to take literally months for them to recover. She also did a very poor job of the nail polish and I had to keep asking her to add additional layers to hide the streaks, which made her tut and roll her eyes. Appalling.

Nice nail spa. Friendly staff that is not overly chatty. You can really relax. I got a standard pedicure and a polish change. I added on a ten minute massage to my pedicure and it was heavenly. With my $ 10 tip, $ 52 for everything. Nothing super special about the pedicure, but my toes look good and my polish change looks fresh. I am a fan. They also massage your shoulders when you’re under the dryer. Nice touch!

Came upon this salon in Unilocal and thought my daughter and I would give it a try. So glad we did arrived at 4:30 on a Monday had a short wait but so worth it. Great service from massage to hot towels and fabulous job and salon so clean. Will definitely ce again !!

Horrible Massage, I would not recommend anyone coming here. AVOID! The lady kept yawning, slowing down, and literally just kept rubbing crème on my foot. She didn’t put any pressure point but instead just applied cream. I asked her to massage a little stronger, she just ignored me, and kept just rubbing my feet. When I paid, obviously I was not a satisfied customer, I left a 10% tip, and the lady wouldn’t let me leave and insisted that I must leave a 20% tip. She called me a tourist and said, you must tip 20%. Luckily the reception came to understand the problem, and I told her about my experience and she said its okay to leave. To be fair, I didn’t do nails, but if you are coming in for a massage, avoid!

I’ll definitely come back. They were professional and flexible. Especially since I was a walk in during a busy day. Rates are great.

Since moving to NYC a year ago and moving in to the building above this QQ, it’s been my go-​to place for mani/​pedis. There’s rarely a wait, the place is clean and the service is quick and professional. The price is also very reasonable (for NYC as least) $ 10 for a manicure, $ 24 for a standard spa pedicure. You can also add a pretty amazing 10 minute leg and foot massage for another $ 10 bucks which I’ve done a few times.
I’ve tried a few other nail salons in the area but for the overall value, haven’t found anything nearly as good. If there’s one negative thing, they are pretty fast (which is great when you’re short on time) but service can sometimes feel a little rushed.

Really enjoyed getting my manicure here the other night. I received a nice welcome when I arrived and these ladies are pros and know how to get you in and out quickly. I will definitely be back. 15 mins + $ 10 for a manicure = winning.

It’s hard to complain about QQ Nails. They do a great job and have a wonderful color selection. The salon is very clean overall and normally pay close attention to you while they are taking care of your nails. I also like that every person I’ve had for a chair massage understands what it means to use pressure. They do get very busy in the evenings esp, Mon-​Wed because their special of $ 20 for mani pedi and Friday nights because the weekend. Call ahead for reservations and don’t expect to necessarily sit next to your friend if they are busy.
