One year I decided that aside from underwear and maybe shoes i was going to buy from only locally owned stores and independent designers. What resulted was: 1. owning some really amazing pieces of clothing 2. a constant stream of compliments and inquiries about what i was wearing all of the time. 3. becoming an excellent advocate for people, stores, brands, labels that deserve to be discovered. Bio came to me after this year of living cool, but since i still shop mostly the same way it has been that place i go when i get a few extra dollars and when i i’m looking for something great. I love every single thing i’ve ever purchased there and will continue to make it my go-to.

I recently got a Bio gift certificate for a cousin because I knew that she’s be able to find something stylish and chic here that would complement her wardrobe. I don’t have a lot of experience shopping for women’s clothes, with the possible exception of Halloween. For that, I’d go to Cross Dress for Less. When I checked in with my cousin, she told me that she bought a great dress at Bio. Enough said, I was glad I got her the gift certificate. Bio is another great store in Nolita. IMO, this area adjacent to Soho is a great area to shop. I detest shopping in midtown or herald square for fear of getting stampeded. In Nolita, I can grab a Gimme Coffee and shop at my own pace.

Great picks when you’re shopping in NoLIta. Kinda like Nida in San Francisco. Emerging designers(obviously) from all over…
