Benefit Brow Bar at Bloomingdales

This closed. I just called to make an appoinment, and they transferred me to Bobbi Brown desk, and she said there is no longer a Benefit counter in Bloomingdales.

Lisa is good but occasionally a bit uneven. Her own eyebrows are thick but nicely shaped, so she does not take off as much hair as other brow shapers do who tend to favor thinner brows (even when you ask them not to make the brows too thin). Benefit staff tend to fill in your brows after waxing with heavy makeup color, so if you like more bare brows, be sure to let them know.

Been here a few times. The regular girls do not do a satisfactory job. Every time I go there, I hear a different opinion about where my eyebrows should start, or where the arch should be. I am lucky to have a symmetrical face, so it can’t be that difficult girls!
Also, I have very sensitive skin, and they can see that I am in pain while they wax my eyebrows (i have tears coming down my face), but yet they don’t pull the skin when they wax, or try to soothe it afterwards. Feels like I am being handled by a butcher.
Plus they chat among themselves while they are putting hot wax on your face. Completely unprofessional.
BUT — there is one girl who unfortunately doesn’t work there all the time, Kate. She is simply WONDERFUL — talented and professional, gave me the best eyebrows ever. Whenever I call and try to book appointments with her, they tell me that they don’t know when she is coming in since she is a freelancer. Really?

My eyebrows were done by Kate. She is also at the Macy’s Benefit Brow Bar. She has a great background in film and is a make up artist so she know EXACTLY how brows on your face should look like. She listens well to what you would like your brows to look like and shapes them exactly to your liking. Just ask to be booked with Kate!

So, first off let me start by saying that I am VERY particular with my brows and who does them. I generally only have 1 person who does my brows at the 34^th St. Macys brow bar location. However, my lady doesn’t work there so I had to come up with a back up plan. I was in serious need. My brows were atrocious. I called ahead of time and there were no appointments available, but I decided to go in anyways and hopefully get seen on the drop in list. When I got there everyone was extremely nice. I was able to get seen in 15−20min. Kate did my brows and she did a wonderful job. She was able to show me exactly what she was going to do so that I felt comfortable. She was thorough and took her time even though I was a drop in. She was excellent and I will be going back to see Kate!

It was a good experience with free brow on your bday. So good that made me come back and took chance with a walk-​in today. Maybe it’s weekday 2pm, the business is pretty slow and a sale told me that the esthatician, Jill, who would do my brows today would return in 15 mins. Then I waited and waited and it’s almost half an hour. Jill showed up with a cup of iced coffee and shouted, «who’s next» like I was in a cheap take away place in China town. It was unprofessional I felt and I was concern she would underperform the brow waxing. Overall the job wasn’t stellar. The wax stain still left on my face with oil over my brows!!! Then Jill passed me quickly to the sale rep so that she could take the next customer next after me. Again, second strike for unprofessionalism!!!
Now with the sale rep, she pushed me the product while filling in my brows — a job that Jill should have done. I politely declined her hard-​core sale only to see a grumpy face and snobbish reaction. The sale rep went to the register, chatted with her colleagues as if I wasn’t there and without even communicate with me about how I wanted a paper receipt or an email one. Then she snapped a small envelop in a drawer and frapped it so hard on the check out counter that it made the paper noise hitting the counter then with her stone face and firm direction,” here for tips!” She didn’t even look at my face when saying so and walked away after finishing the sentence. I felt so offended as if I was forced to do the tips, as if I don’t know how to tip! Come on, you don’t have to be rude and nasty. At least I know a few things about good manners and how to be prefessional at work.
What a horrible ill-​manner service!!! It totally ruins a cute and friendly image of Benefit brand and also Bloomingdales 59^th. I’ll take my business somewhere else.

Did my eyebrows for the first time at Benefit Brow in Bloomingdales and Jill took care of me… she did an excellent job! I will definitely come back… worth the money.

My favorite place to get brows done! Allison is fantastic! My brows always come out with a great full shape — exactly what I want.

A little on the expensive side at $ 20 for an eyebrow wax/​shaping, but they do a very thorough job. Everyone was very nice, which I didn’t expect at the Bloomingdale’s location. They also didn’t try to sell me a bunch of expensive products on top of the service. You definitely notice a difference versus the $ 8 regular nail salon eyebrow wax. I will be back.

I have finally found my brow place! After a looooong journey searching and trying other places, I can now say that I have stopped searching. Allison is amazing! Thank you Allison! I’ll be seeing you at my next appointment!

I’ve been meaning to try the Brow Bar for a while, and finally stopped in today. I had to wait about an hour and a half, so definitely make an appointment rather than drop in. I walked around and shopped while I waited. After checking in an hour later, one of the saleswomen helped me pass the rest of the wait by trying out some products. No hard sells, which I liked. I ended up buying their vitamin E eye stick.
The Benefit space at Bloomingdales is pretty crammed in to a nook and it was crowded the whole time I was there. The brow stations line the back of the nook. Raquel did my brows. She was meticulous and gave my brows a great shape. Afterwards, she filled them with the benefit brow makeup. I’m not a fan of filled brows personally, but she did a great job with the application. I’ll try to maintain my brows myself, but I imagine I’ll be back for reshaping in a few months. Note: Gratuity is cash only.
Tip: go there on your birthday and your brows are free!
