I love this place, old school and if you ask, they have what you need plus some ! Traditional healing salves and saint oils to do your limpias. I needed a delivery of ice and nuts, I live a block away and can not carry a bag . Graciouse delivery man came within 15 minutes, gave him a gratitude tip and we smiled . Cant get better than this :-)

I think they’ve stepped up their game at this pharmacy since it’s been renovated. I’ve also found the pharmacist to be quite helpful even with over-the-counter recommendations. As for basic cosmetics, and simple over the counter meds, they are actually cheaper than Walgreens and Duane Reade, which surprised me. The one criticism I have is their store hours are not consumer friendly. They should be open on Sundays and later at night.

They’re always friendly and helpful. I’ve been going there for years. Not sure what’s the deal with all the bad reviews. They even automatically refill my prescription each month so I don’t have to.

Let me describe my past two visits here: 1. I waited for 10 min in line while the cashier tried to figure out how to sell an old woman cookies at the advertised price. 2. I spoke to an uninformed employee about decongestants. I kept telling her that I wanted real pseudophedrine but she could not understand. When I was finally ready to buy, they said the pharmacy was going to open over an hour late because the pharmacist was late to work. I was so sick and had to go several avenues away instead. Some of the staff are very nice, but the place is disorganized and needs better management.

I went here to get a prescription filled with an insurance card. I told them I wasn’t sure if the medicines would be covered, but that they should call my insurance company to check. They took my card in the back, and came out shaking their heads. I paid almost $ 300 out of pocket. The next day, I called my insurance company to go over the terms of my coverage. Turns out, I was actually COVERED for everything I had purchased at the pharmacy, bringing my bill to well under $ 100. THEREWASNORECORDOF A CALLFROMTHEPHARMACYTOEVENINQUIREASTOMYELIGIBILITY. I SMELLSOMETHINGROTTENGOINGONHERE. SO many old people go there… I wonder how many victims they have had. If this pharmacy has ever told you that your insurance wouldn’t cover something and made you pay out of pocket, PLEASECALLYOURINSURANCECOMPANYTODOUBLECHECKTHEYDIDN’T PUTIN A CLAIMFORITLATERANDTOMAKESURETHEYACTUALLYEVENCALLED. The happy ending is that I got my $$ back, only after they made me wait for ages. They refused to give me the name of the pharmacist who had neglected to call the insurance company until I persisted for over 10 minutes and raised my voice. There was zero apology for having overcharged me by $ 200. I guess they’re so used to it happening there… I did everything I could to support the local place and not give my $$ to Duane Reade. Sad, really, but they are NOT trustworthy people.
