We are an independent pharmacy, serving the East Village Community. We provide excellent service and a more personal approach, compared to other bigger pharmacies. We offer competitive prices and excellent value. Express RX filling is available in 15 minutes or less and we accept most insurances, Medicare and NYS Medicaid. Our multilingual staff members are always ready to help (Spanish, Chinese and English) you with your prescription questions and health aids needs.

History

Established in 2000.

We opened our doors in 2000 in the East Village and have served the community during September 11th and the Sandy mega storm periods. We have earned many loyal customers and thank you all for your continued support and business.

If I could give Medilane 3,000 stars, I would! Sure, their décor may not be the spiffiest, but the service is just so incredible. Time and time again they have been so understanding when a prescription HAD to be picked up but couldn’t been picked up before closing, when they didn’t happen to have a prescription in stock that I idiotically realized I need THAT DAY, and in various other situations that were of no fault of their own. They are always friendly, discreet, and helpful as can be. And, at least on of the employees speaks fluent Spanish which must be so helpful to customers that come in and are (seemingly) more comfortable speaking Spanish than English. My family and I will be customers for life.

The words «decrepit» and «medicine» should usually not be used in the same sentence but I have to start by saying that this pharmacy could use some serious sprucing up.
Nestled between a mini-​market and a liquor store, Medilane comes from days before the Rite-​Aid/​Wal-​Mart madness that overtook American urban sprawls. This alphabet city location brings forth a variety of clientele and though it lacks the luster of big, clean pharmacies like CVS, the people working here offer a more personal approach to prescriptions. Their pricing also seems more reasonable that the bigger guys. And remember to mind your manners; the neighborhood grandmother’s club stakes out Medilane and you’d best say thank you for the prompt service!
