This small framing store has been at this location as long as I can remember. I’m always welcomed as soon as I step in the door. I can look around at the framed pictures without a hard sell tactic.
At times you can purchase small pieces of furniture. It’s a great place to find furnishings for your first apartment. They usually have the furniture outside on the sidewalk. I love the framed pieces. They gladly do custom framing too.
Today I took some photos of their fun items. They have images I’m fond of. If you have blank wall space and desire something to fill it, this store has inexpensive options. You may find a photo near and dear to your heart. I love De La Vega and especially the King Ali. :-)

Got my pieces back. I was going away and said not needed till Fri. Trip canceled and I called to see if Tues aft possible.
He said he would try. Called me but missed it as ringer off. Then texted.

I’m surprised to read the negative reviews since I’ve had wonderful experiences with this shop. I’ve had seven oil portraits (all bought on ebay) framed and they did it beautifully and very reasonably. In fact, I insisted on giving the guy MORE money once because the price was way too low with the Groupon and I want to pay fairly. I’m going back again this weekend with three more portraits. Perhaps it depends on who is behind the counter? Anyway, count me as a very satisfied customer!

Bought a 19 dollar groupon for 100 dollars. I brought in a relatively small print to be framed. I asked for a simple black frame, in which they had two options: a thin one costing 165 dollars and a slightly thicker one costing 185 dollars. I was a bit taken aback by the pricing and asked her to break it down for me. She said the framing was $ 9/​foot (the cheapest they have apparently), glass costs $ 50, hanging hardware costs $ 35 (…seriously?), and the labor costs $ 50 dollars.
I swear this place must survive off of people like me who buy the groupon without doing any research. On their last deal they sold close to 700 of these groupons… so roughly $ 14,000. My guess is that the majority of those people didn’t actually get anything from them because of the outrageous prices so they basically get a free $ 20 bucks per person.
Total rip off.

I would stay away from this place. The entire experience, from start to finish, was horrible. I bought their Groupon — it is clear that their pricing and arbitrary, so who knows what the Groupon gets you. Anyway, the employee (who didn’t seem to know much about framing, BTW) and I agreed on a frame and an off-​white mat for my diploma. I paid him and left. A week later, I call to check up on the status, and they have no idea where my frame is. I didn’t have the receipt # on me at the time, and they say that without the receipt number, they cannot help me. We live in the 21^st century, shouldn’t you get a computer?!
Anyway, when I finally pick it up, it turns out they didn’t mat the diploma, as I had wanted. I show her the receipt, which clearly says «mat» on it. She responds, «I can’t read what that says.» This is YOUR store, how can you not read your own receipts! She says that the new employee wrote it, and therefore she can’t read it. Well, she refuses to honor our agreement, and wants to upcharge me another $ 25 (and another week of waiting) for the mat. She also calls her boss, who claims that I didn’t want the mat, and she says, «Who do you think I am going to side with? You or my boss?» Wow, the days of «the customer is right» are past, aren’t they?
So I plan on getting my diploma reframed somewhere else. I would caution you before you come here. The customer service is horrible. Only come here if you want to emerge seething for the rest of the day… And the worst part? The finished product is not right!

Don’t ever think to come with a groupon here, they will anyway increase the price the minute you mention it. After negociating, the price went a bit down, but was still quite expensive.
Then we had been told we would get our frame back within 2 weeks, they took my number and told us they would call me when it’s ready. After 4 weeks, still no call. I decide to give them a visit, and they tell me it’s ready but in their storage room (not on site). Told me it would be here the week after, took my number again and said they would call me. They never did. I paid them another visit, still not here. Overall, it took 2 months and 5 visits to get the job done instead of 2 weeks. They never called once.
The finished product is ok, although there is a part where you can see the glue through the paper. Definitely not profesionals.

I had a truly terrible experience at this shop. I will never go there again. The first time it was framed, the shop had gotten a black smudge on the canvas, so I took it back and they had to redo it. It was not completed time wise, as promised and I had to return 4 times before it was finished and I could take it home. The painting has 3-​D elements on it, requiring the need for a shadow box. Upon further inspection, once I brought the piece home with me, the second time, I noticed the framer had not allowed for enough height, causing the 3-​D elements to be mangled and the plexi to be scratched from the inside. I ended up making ELEVEN TRIPS to this establishment, and still they did not do their job properly. My art work was manhandled and the craftsmanship was so shoddy, I ended up having to take it elsewhere to be redone. I also discovered I was overcharged. Crummy work, over priced, repeatedly late with completion, never again will I attempt to have this frame shop do anything for me.

I had the WORST experience ever with this company. I am reporting them to the BBB and giving them a negative Unilocal review. I have NEVER had a bad experience with any groupon I’ve purchased and I’ve purchased over 50 groupons. I went uptown to use my groupon. When I got there she quoted me $ 100 and then when I told her I had a groupon, they said the price would be $ 150. She then told me if I didn’t use the groupon the cost would only be $ 50. I asked them to frame an article in a magazine. They said it would take two weeks. When I called after two weeks they said the frame was on back order for another week. I went up there after a week and it still wasn’t ready. I asked them to deliver which they agreed to do. I received the frame last night at 9:30pm at night! They said they were going to be there at 6pm but the delivery driver got lost on the subway. When I opened it I was horrified to see that they PHOTCOPIED the article and chopped off tons of words on the side. The framing was crooked and it looked very unprofessional. I called and spoke to the manager the next day and asked him why he used a photocopy. He gave me a BS excuse about the print on the back showing through. I’ve gotten tons of articles framed before and this has never been an issue. Even if it was, why didn’t he call the customer to verify that it was ok to photocopy the print?!? I asked for my magazine back and he said I couldn’t get it back. He had the audacity to tell me to order my own copy for the publisher. I have never EVER been so upset about a purchase. This company should go out of business immediately so nobody else has to have this experience.

Great spot! Awesome customer service – will definitely come back and refer my friends here. I just needed a simple frame job for a poster, and Tammy went through all my options and helped me figure out what would look best. Highly recommend!

Great experience here after a terrible one at big apple art gallery. Friendly, helpful staff. Spent significant time with me and broke down all my options including price break down. Definitely need to be aware of pricing and negotiating ability but honestly after the hell I went through at the other place it wasn’t worth negotiating for the stark difference in customer service. Definitely will be going back with my diploma.

The Frame cost me more than the painting but they did a kick ass job!!!
I shopped around a while before going to this place. I had a beautiful piece of Tibetan art from Nepal. The art didn’t cost me more than couple hundred dollars, but the frame was expensive. However, it was the decision i made. They gave me couple of options, couple of reccomendation. They are very knowledgable about the kind of frame that would go well with the subject you are framing.
It just took couple of days for them to get my order ready. The painting looked much better cause of the framing they provided. I will definitely use them again for future framings.

I bought the 25 groupon for 100 at this location. Here’s the low-​down:
PROS
— The guy was very professional and didn’t seem to be trying to up-​sell me to more expensive glass, matting, frames, etc.
— I got three posters framed for $ 300 out of pocket (after the groupon) only because there seemed to be a 50% special going on. Otherwise it would’ve been around $ 500 for the whole job.
CONS
— The place was small, but who cares really.
— My biggest issue? Initially he promised to have them turned around for Friday (I brought them in on a Tuesday) because I wanted the items for my housewarming. I understand it was a tight turnaround, so I was grateful. However, when I called around 3PM that Friday to check if they would be finished by EOD, he told me they wouldn’t be ready until first thing Saturday morning. It was irritating that for one, I was the one who had to call to find out my items wouldn’t be finished. Moreover, I didn’t get a phone call that my pictures were done until almost 4:00 that Saturday.
All-​in-​all, it’s a quality place to get pictures framed, however work in buffer time because the date your items are promised might not actual be the date that you receive them.
Also, call before you head over. They seem to close at different times each day.

I bought a 25 dollar groupon for 100 on this company. Ended up going to this location because it was closest to me. I brought two posters that I had bought online. They ended up looking great! Good quality frame, glass, backing and wire. The guy who works here was very professional and offered to take the frames over to my trunk. Would definitely come back here for any future projects. Got great value for my money.
