Description

Specialties

I combine a specialized, two-stage approach to restore and maintain your body’s ability to stand straighter and move easier: First, The Functional Movement Screen assessment is given before your first Rolfing session to test, discover and give corrective exercises to remedy your dysfunctional movement patterns.

The FMS is comprised of seven movement tests that require a balance of mobility and stability. The observable performance of the movement patterns can reveal client weaknesses, imbalances, asymmetries, and limitations of faulty or dysfunctional movement patterns. The results are graded from zero to three, then the numbers are sent to the FMS site, which builds and prescribes, by email, a customized and individual, 8 week exercise program tailored to the client’s specific needs. Rolfing® is a therapeutic process of hands-on physical manipulation that is applied while clients actively stretch and participate. This global combination mobilizes, reorganizes and balances the soft connective tissue, or myofascia, that surrounds the muscles throughout the entire body.

Rolfing’s benefits enhance posture, improve the range of movement and mobility, relieves tense muscles, and increases a person’s general feeling of well being. Clients leave standing straighter and moving with greater ease.

When clients follow the FMS corrective exercises, they reset and reinforce proper movement patterns and thereby maintain the postural and movement improvements gained from the Rolfing.
