Business Owner
Maureen is a New York State licensed Acupuncturist, Diplomate of the NCCAOM, NADA member and Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist.
Prior to opening her own practice in New York City Maureen graduated from Tri-State College of Acupuncture with her Masters Degree in Science of Acupuncture. This three-year intensive program in Acupuncture Physical Medicine is known world-wide for its blend of Eastern and Western approaches to healing. Some of the methods employed are: using needles to release trigger-points (tight bands of muscle fibers) to unblock holding patterns/constrictions in the body, Japanese-style diagnosis based on the holistic system of the Hara (abdominal palpation), and Traditional Chinese Medicine, the common style of acupuncture focusing on the meridians and their accompanying energetic organ systems. At the college, Maureen interned with world-renowned Acupuncturists from Asia, Europe and America. Maureen has also practiced massage therapy since 1999.
