History

Established in 1929.

Sammarco Stone and Supply, Inc. was established in 1929 by Peter Sammarco as a garden and landscape center. Sammarco serviced all of the needs of lower Westchester County’s immigrant landscapers by providing advice and extending credit Sammarco Garden Supplyto those who needed it. Peter was instrumental in giving them the opportunity to get their businesses started. In 1985, after 56 years in the business, Peter decided to transfer ownership to his grandson, Frank Miceli.

Frank soon improved the already successful business by further building on its basic premise of servicing the small to medium sized landscape and masonry contractors. Using his acquired knowledge of masonry and landscape construction, Frank added a new dimension to the stone industry in lower Westchester. Through hard work and a determination to succeed, the business began to prosper, amid much larger and more resourceful competition.
