Specialties
The Center incorporates high-fidelity simulation equipment and modern education techniques to provide skills-based and team training for healthcare professionals at all levels. Fully simulated environments help provide more effective training and ultimately reduce medical error to increase patient safety.
History
Established in 2009.
The Center offers a multidisciplinary approach to medical education and research that includes skills/task training, team training, integrated Standardized Patients, surgical and non-surgical simulations, disaster training and emergency and trauma care training, Life Support training and long-term care. The Center also has several faculty who are certified Master Trainers for TeamSTEPPS™ training. The Tulane Center for Advanced Medical Simulation and Team Training sets a new national standard for the education, training and certification of healthcare professionals.
As of January 2011, The Tulane Sim Center is now accredited as a ACS Level 1 Education Institute and a Laerdal Center of Educational Excellence!
Meet the Manager
Jennifer C.
Manager
Jennifer is the Director for the Tulane Sim Center. She has a BA in Communications from Loyola University and a MA in Media Studies, from the New School in New York, NY. She worked in advertising and marketing for 20 years and in 2008, made a career change by joining the Tulane School of Medicine. Her sales perspective and experience in marketing, communications, training and business development have proved useful in launching a new Sim Center and building a client base.
