Skip N’ Whistle

What a horrible experience with Skip N’ Whistle. I placed an order on ¹¹⁄₂₆. I emailed to make sure we would have it by Hanukkah and an ugly sweater party on ¹²⁄₁₁. They assured me we would. Then they went radio silent. I finally got a USPS notification on ¹²⁄₄ for 2 day priority… two days go by and no package. So I email. No response. The 11^th comes and go and no package. We had to race to the mall to buy another sweater for my husband for the party.
So I email again… no response. Finally a response on 12/​16, saying sorry. We are just so swamped and can’t get stuff out as quickly as usual. I don’t think 3 weeks is exactly a rush order.
Still no package! It is now the 21^st and we still don’t have the shirts and we don’t even want them anymore. They are totally useless to us and they are still non responsive via email.
I want my money back. You can keep your cheaply made sweatshirts and poor customer service.

My wife got me a sweatshirt for Xmas — the size was way off and the quality wasn’t great. (One gets the impression the use the cheapest possible sweatshirts and screen-​print machines available.) Discouraged that they didn’t offer refunds, we at least thought we could exchange it for something else. We tried getting in touch with them for weeks, but heard nothing. Their phone says it’s no longer in service and multiple emails have gone unanswered. Are they even still open?! Terrible business with mediocre products and zero customer service! Avoid at all costs…

If I could give no stars I would. Ordered a sweatshirt for a Xmas gift on ¹²⁄₇ thinking that’s plenty of time to receive before Xmas. Received an email on ¹²⁄₁₆ indicating that a USPS shipping label was created and the label number provided. I set up a shipping alert with
for tracking status and continued to check for several days but no information was available. On ¹²⁄₂₃ I received an email from USPS saying that the package had now been received at their facility and on its way. Obviously it’s going to be too late for Xmas delivery. So basically the package sat at their office for 8 days ready to go before being given to USPS. Several emails to Skip n Whistle went unanswered. They also never answer their phone and the mailbox is constantly full. CRICKETS over there! I’d like to return the order for a refund since I had to buy a replacement gift for the person this was for but I see they don’t offer refunds unless the item is defective. Horrible customer service, horrible return policy. I don’t recommend this retailer and I will never buy from them again. If you don’t take care of your customer, someone else will.

They are a local company that used to have a brick and mortar store, but moved to sell exclusively on-​line. They have great Facebook marketing and so I saw the perfect gift for a friend of mine. I was super excited about it the awesome Christmas Sweatshirt, Size Large, I ordered from them on 12÷10÷14. They sent an XL that arrived on the 13^th. It was a mistake, no big deal. Since it was a local company, I figured I’d be able to get it fixed in time. I called and left a message about exchanging it before my friend left town on the 19^th. In the message, I even offered to drive the 1 hour each way to their business office. I heard nothing. I called again. I emailed. And emailed. And it’s 12÷27÷14 and I still haven’t heard anything and no one ever picks up the phone.
They only take exchanges, not returns. So my friend has an awesome sweatshirt that he’s using as a couch cover.
Buy local, but not from them.

I ordered a Christmas gift on Thanksgiving Day. It still has not arrived. I got the shipping notification on Dec. 5, but the only action on the tracking number is that a shipping label was created.
I also received an email inviting me to review my item, but it was never received. I took this as a sign that it had been lost or something had gone wrong.
I emailed through the site two days ago asking for a status update, and still have not heard back.
Hopefully this gets someone’s attention so that I can either get my item or a refund.

I placed an order on-​line and waited for the sweater to arrive. It wasn’t actually for me, but for my daughter, so the stakes were high. When it arrived I was really disappointed – it had the wrong graphic. It mostly matched the description, but the actual graphic was very different. Nuts! Plus the sweatshirt fabric was not what I was expecting.
I e-​mailed them and explained what happened. I was probably griping. I hate to gripe but sometimes it comes out.
I got the nicest reply. «K» at Skip N’ Whistle explained what probably happened, and explained the material, without stating the obvious — that I ought to have just read the description!
They sent the correct item, letting us keep the first one. It’s fun and cute and comfortable. Yeah, I’m a big fan. Any company that has not only decent products but treats customers so well? I only hope to be able to shop there in person some day.

I ordered online because I had a desperate «need» for one of their shirts and didn’t have the time to go to the store.
It shipped fast, it’s great quality, and I got a coupon! These are all things I like.
Also, I constantly get laughs and comments on my tee (the Golden Girls logo with the ladies wearing Saints jerseys).

What a MESS!
I ordered printed Christmas sweaters from this company on November 15^th, hoping that would leave enough time to get them for the holidays! My ordered wasn’t even processed and shipped till December 1^st! What happened there? It was shipped via the slowest possible service and it had to cross customs at the Canadian boarder. My hopes were still high I would get it in time! My boyfriend and I couldn’t wait to wear them to family dinner!
Christmas passed, New Years passed… the sweaters finally showed up around January 6^th. Not only were they completely late, but in the end, the sweater printing looked way better in the photos, and the sizes were a lot larger than you’d think! So I emailed and asked for a refund, because I wasn’t even going to need the sweaters anymore. They apologized and said to send them back for a full refund.
Well I sent them back, and it is now March, and I’m still waiting to get my refund. I’ve emailed 3 times in the last few weeks asking what’s going on, and I keep being told it’s going to get done right away. Still nothing.

Another great local business that I was able to support while planning my wedding. They printed up some fabulous koozies that we used as wedding favors, and I bought a few fun t-​shirts as gifts for our wedding party members.

Great little shop on Oak with t-​shirts and more! There are lots of great t-​shirt shops in New Orleans. Skip N Whistle is currently my favorite. Their t-​shirts run the gamut from cute to ironic to retro. They use a lot of American Apparel track shirts, which I love. They sometimes have sales on their t-​shirts– buy 2 get 1 half off. My brother has benefitted from that more than once. If you don’t find the t-​shirt you want, they make custom t-​shirts in the back of the store.
In addition to t-​shirts, Skip N Whistle has a great selection of fun, inexpensive accessories. They also have a small selection of women’s clothes (men’s too, but I never go upstairs). Their women’s clothes are usually cheap chic– nothing you’ll keep for a lifetime but if you want something fun to wear for a moderate price, you’re sure to find something here. I LOVE THIS STORE!!!
Such cute and creative designs. And they have a wide variety of designs. Also, I like that they have a particular design on different STYLE shirts. Personally, I prefer V-​necks. And they usually carry v-​neck styles and the regular t-​shirt styles. So extra bonus points there.
I made a nice conversation with the girl that worked there… very friendly staff. I like that too… great customer service. I had trouble deciding which shirts to buy and she gave me her honest opinion. HONESTY — extra points there.
Definitely going back!

Fun t-​shirt shop on Oak Street in the Uptown district of New Orleans. Create your own shirt with dozens of designs of iron on transfers. Sale racks are often a considerable bargain.
I still want that hemp USA flag that is not for sale that is only for décor.

Cant see myself ever paying almost $ 40 for a worn out tshirt that everyone down the street not only sells but even cheaper

This is not your average New Orleans themed tshirt shop. Not at all. They’ve got so much more than tshirts, even the opportunity to screen print your own designs. They sell bags, clothes, glasses, magnets and other souvenirs. If you’re shopping for a New Orleans themed gift, there is a good chance you’ll find what you’re looking for here.

Contrary to my previous visit to Skip and Whistle, this time was fantastic.
There was a different, very friendly and helpful young lady working, she was very helpful when I needed her and made us some sweet shirts.
I have chalked my previous experience to the clerk having a bad day.

I purchased a shirt from Skip N’ Whistle, a pon washing it the sleeve ripped. I went back to the store thinking that they would replace the shirt, seeing as how it was a defect. What I got was a rude, unreasonable, snobby person, who said it was my fault and that I would not be refunded, or get a new shirt. The manger then walked off as if it was ok that this happened. I will never shop ther again, terrible products, and people. Spend your money else where.

They’ve got a great mix of clothing, gifts, and accessories for both guys and girls (guys, head up the stairs). The owners have been doing their own original t-​shirts and screenprinting business called Ichabod’s for years before opening this store, so expect lots of original and New Orleans themed t-​shirt designs.
As far as other clothes, they prices tend to be really good (the first time I went in and looked at a price tag I was actually a little shocked that it was so low). It sort of has a Magazine Street feel, at Oak Street prices. This is the kind of place where locals shop, but it’s right off of the St. Charles/​Carrollton street car line, so if you’re a tourist, you can easily hop off at Oak Street. There’s plenty of other great local shops around here too, so it’s a good place to get a feel for the local vibe.

Great locally owned shop! Awesome place to get a gift. Really cool unique new orleans-​themed t-​shirts. Definitely worth the trip from anywhere. What are you waiting for, fool! Check it out!

I checked this new clothing store out during the chaos of PoBoy Fest. But made it back today to score some excellent local tshirts as Christmas gifts. They have a couple of fun non-​official saints shirts, one with wild things & another that says Jesus loves the Saints. I did not really peruse the consignment clothes as I was on a mission but will definitely be back once the holiday budgeting is over.
