Rare Finds

The store owner blatantly lied to both the BBB and to my credit card company. She said that I was told the stone was simply sapphire in color not actually a sapphire.
Luckily my credit card company ended up believing me in the end and refunding my money but clearly this store is a terrible place and I don’t know how Sue Saucier the owner sleeps at night.

This store has some lovely things and beautiful vintage collectibles. Shopping in New Orleans can be tricky, but this spot has genuine, good quality items at reasonable (though high) prices that reflect age and value.
One thing to note– there is a layaway program. I made several purchases and put one item on layaway with the owner. The items I got in store were great, but the layaway was a little disappointing. She mischarged my card twice, and the shipping took about a month after final payment. When the item arrived, it did not look identical to the one I had requested… It’s beautiful and I don’t plan to return, but I do wish in retrospect I had taken pictures to be sure what I purchased matched with what I received.
Long story short, I highly recommend this shop for buyers in New Orleans, but I do not recommend layaway unless you are very vigilant on payments and receipt.

This place is a treasure trove of wonderful old things. If you collect or have any interest in anything from years past, you’ll probably enjoy this place. Some things I noticed were: a bucket of old photographs, perfume bottles and other decorative bottles, cameos, buttons buttons buttons, dolls, an old rotary dial telephone that still works, typewriters, baseball cards, doubloons and throws from Mardi Gras parades (vintage and antique), New Orleans memorabilia, masks, gizmos, gadgets, whosits, whatsits, thingamabobs… and probably a dinglehopper, too.
OK. Sorry for the Little Mermaid reference.
My point is, this places is fantastic for fun gifts or collections. The owner is very, very nice. She offers a layaway program, too, so if you find something you absolutely must have, she’ll work with you to make sure you can get it.
