Housed in a spatious, restored, historic brick building from the 1800’s in the Arts District of the American Sector, The New Orleans ArtWorks at the New Orleans GlassWorks & Printmaking Studio is the South’s largest, most comprehensive facility, incorporating a contemporary glassblowing arena, glass casting, scientific glass torchworking, stained glass, silver slchemy jewelry, copper enameling, printmaking, paper marbling, pop-​up[ book and paper engineering, bookbinding, and metal sculpture.

History

Established in 1990.

Since its opening in 1990, the New Orleans GlassWorks and Printmaking Studio has been the site of national and international exhibitions and demonstrations. New Orleans ArtWorks is a national treasure of the South, highlighting the extraordinary diversity of skilled local and European master craftsmen in the fields of glass, printmaking, and metal sculpture.

New Orleans GlassWorks & Printmaking Studio is a non-​profit studio and gallery. The organization is not owned by any one person, as it is a voluntary team effort. The local artisans and staff members are college graduates who collaborate with fellow colleagues from around the world to create original works of art.
