Hampton Inn & Suites New Orleans Convention Center

When I went to New Orleans, I stayed at the Hampton since it was super close to the convention center and the French Quarter.
When I entered the room, I was surprised how big the room was. It had its own lounging area with the bedroom in the back that was separated with a hall in between with a fridge. The front desk informed me that he placed us in the newly renovated room.
They offer hot breakfast in the morning so take full advantage of it!
If you forget any bathroom supplies, you can go downstairs to the front desk and request the items.
If you are a Hilton Honors guest (Gold) — you can get a free soda with two snacks (I chose Swedish fish and chips).
The WWII Museum and Cochon Butcher are walking distance from the hotel.

I live in New Orleans but I stayed here on business during a work conference. I am glad they chose a hotel that wasn’t in the Quarter or on Canal because it was way easier to avoid the Bourbon St. madness. (Close enough for everyone else though!)
As far as the rooms go, I stayed in the renovated portion of the hotel. (Renovation is ongoing and you will see the crew around and in the elevators with equipment/​materials, etc.) My room was pretty spacious and had a large desk and small couch. The bathroom was a good size as well. There is a small fridge which I always appreciate.
The conference facilities were very good for our size group (50 vendors in a ballroom and 1 large room with 2 smaller rooms for breakout sessions for about 100 attendees). Catering for lunch and small snacks for our evening events was done well. Lots of New Orleans cuisine represented and enjoyed by attendees.
Staff was very accomodating — my room wasn’t ready when I tried to check in but they called me as soon as it was ready (earlier than standard check in). They also allowed me to check out late.
I was very pleased with my experience here and hope that this conference I attended returns here next year.

Unfortunately, we had a bad experience with both the customer service and the remodeling next to our room. Right next-​door, they were remodeling our room and we were not notified by the front desk there were no signs posted outside and we didn’t see online that it was remodeling. On the second day, we noticed signs in the elevator that said it was being remodeled.
We were unable to sleep in, unable to take a nap, after spending time in the French quarter. Management was not helpful, her name was Charline. She basically gave us the only option to move rooms even though we had experienced two days of noise and no sleep, and we were going to be out in the French quarter all day by the time we were getting back the remodeling would have been done so there would have been no point to move rooms. We explained this to her and despite telling her we were going to be late to our book tour she still was asking us to pack up our bags and move rooms. When we said that we didn’t like any of those options, she suggested we check out of the hotel for the rest of our stay here and figure out a different place to stay.
I would be careful with this hotel, because customer service is what you’re hoping for when you’re having trouble with a service. I’ve always expected hotels to maintain a high level of customer service, unfortunately we did not experience this during our stay and had to deal with loud remodeling the entire time and feeling like stuff was not helpful or on our side. I would spend a little more money for a hotel that had better customer service or less customer service and closer to the French quarter.
Also, be advised that there is no parking and you must pay for parking.

Awesome service and great rooms. The building is actually an old textile industrial building and over 100 years old. Our room was recently remodeled and us very different from the cookie cutter style Hampton Inn Hotel rooms that I have stated in all across America.
The service was great! We actually had a small problem with our room. Nothing bad just a miss understanding. We needed a room with two beds and that’s what we actually ordered. However, a new employee at the front desk upgraded us to a better room and unfortunately didn’t realize it only had one bed. Instead of packing all our stuff up we desired to simply take advantage of roll-​a-​way beds and unfortunately that was a mistake.
Long story short the staff and the managers made it worth our while and I can’t wait to come back to this hotel because it’s a very unique buikding run by a bunch of great people. Conrad Hilton would be proud!

Nice enough hotel. large rooms with small fridge and microwaves… so that’s a plus. Construction at the moment set off the fire alarm one night. You could hear the dings on the elevator 5 rooms away. There are 2 buildings to this hotel, not connected except by lobby floor… easy to take the wrong elevator since no signs let you know what rooms they access. The hotel rented the pool out for a function on a Sat from 2−10pm. Imagine not being able to use the pool on a hot weekend afternoon. Good breakfast everyday 6 – 10.

Upon arrival, we were slightly concerned by the exterior of the building (renovated old warehouse) but the inside was charming and the rooms were comfortable!
Overall, the room was clean and the staff was very friendly/​helpful.
I would stay here again. Make sure you research the cost of parking in advance. Like most hotels in New Orleans, parking is valet, and it was $ 38 on top of the cost of stay. It was worth it for us so we didn’t have to deal with our car, but just a heads up.
We were impressed with this hotel and I would recommend a stay here!

Been traveling extensively for work (road warrior, other people paying) and family (me paying the bill) for 30 years, always a joy when a hotel does something **WONDERFUL** they didn’t need to.
I did a cheap Hotwire reservation, called that day, explained that plan had changed and it was just me and my 9-​yr old son, asked if we could get connecting rooms. WOW, they put is in this amazing corner suite with 2 rooms, an amazing room, simply amazing, a loft space with 30 ft (!) ceilings, a 4-​poster bed, full kitchen.
An amazing room, but more than that, an amazing kindness. All in the middle of a city water boil advisory that would have crippled most hotels, the staff here totally rocked it.
And, this is was for a cheapskate Hotwire customer. the wide eyes of my son walking into that room was something I’ll remember for a long time, thank you thank you thank you!

Stayed here for 5 nights to attend a national conference at the convention center. The Hampton is conveniently located across Convention Center Blvd which made morning travel very easy. Check-​in and check-​out was incredibly efficient, and the staff was friendly. I tried to get a late check-​out and kept being told to «check back tomorrow» which included up to the day I was checking-​out.
There are two sections of the hotel and I stayed in the «historical» side. I highly recommend that you ask for this half if you were to stay here. My room (King Suite) was great. A full kitchenette with full-​size fridge, pots/​pans, and dishware. The bed was quite comfortable, and I had great windows.
Free breakfast every morning with snacks and coffee available all day. The breakfast was nice, but nothing impressive — oatmeal, waffles, eggs, sausage, bagels, fruit, etc.
Only real complaint are the bath towels — they are super thing and scratchy.

Came back and got more disgusted. Was staying for two nights but wanted to cancel one and was told on the phone 48 hours notice needs to be given. Didn’t make sense to me since it wasn’t prepaid. When I checked in, the issue was resolved. No one was offered a goodie bag this time and the next morning I wasn’t offered a receipt or asked how my stay was. Definitely the worse Hampton inn I’ve stayed in.

Stayed for St. Patrick’s day weekend 2015. No complaints about room. Large and comfortable. BEWARE of the valet parking. First night they left my car unlocked and unattended. Left to go eat and go to the quarter. Got in late, had to park on the street, go find the valet attendant. Found him inside studying. Next morning called to get my car brought up, No answer. Went downstairs to get my car. At first they couldn’t find my car, as the attendant from the night before didn’t log it in.
What a freaking mess!

Great location to the convention center but mediocre rooms. The hotel rooms could use some updating but I guess they’re trying to remain time period appropriate with the décor. Think that’s bad? There was hair in my sheets that did not belong to me as well as crumbs of food on the floor. GROSS!!! Parking is super expensive and unfortunately this was my worst stay at a Hilton brand hotel. Can’t say i’d stay here again!

What a great hotel! We usually stay in the quarter, but this is just far enough to be away from the madness and just close enough that you can still walk to anywhere you’d want to go. For much less than what we normally pay, we got a room about 3 times the size with a sitting area and kitchen. Our stay was very comfortable, and the staff was very accommodating (they even held our beer for us in the employee fridge after we’d checked out!). This is a great option for visiting New Orleans if you aren’t there just to party and dead set on staying in the heart of the partying. We’ll definitely be returning.

This hotel was so great and different. Stayed here for conference right across the street. Asked for suite in older part after looking at reviews. It was bigger than most apts I’ve lived in. Had living room, kitchenette, work desk, king size bed, crazy big windows and ceilings, huge tub and shower. I wanted to stay in the room all night but of course had to leave to enjoy all the amazing food. I’d say the customer service was not good but adequate. Not super friendly or helpful at the front desk but the guys by the garage were really friendly. The breakfast is great and I just took it to go back to my awesome room.

Stayed here for 5 nights for a trade show. This location is perfect for events at the Morial convention center as it is right across the street. You hardly break a sweat getting to the show in the morning, and it is swampy in NOLA, even in October. I almost always stay at Hilton properties and I do like Hamptons as they offer free breakfasts and Wi-​Fi. This one was no exception and had all the little Hampton touches.
Upon check in, I found I got put into a corner room (I had just booked a business king), which turned out to be a huge suite. There are only a few of these at the hotel, one on each corner. SCORE. This is an old renovated warehouse so has a real cool vibe… brick walls, art, nice furniture, etc., My suite had a huge 4 poster bed, living room area and a kitchen with fridge and microwave. There were even real dishes and a dishwasher. It was well maintained, very clean. The bed was comfortable, it was quiet. Bathroom was huge and had a Jacuzzi tub. I had two closets. Tons of room.
Along with the nice room surprise at check in, they gave me a drink certificate at the bar. Of course I got a hurricane. The little bar off the lobby was cute and the bartenders were always nice. They have a few beers (Abita for sure), a few wines and some cocktails. They had a TV and a few patrons were in there. They close it up by 11, though. A great lobby with lots of couches and that same old fashioned feel, a concierge who is quite helpful. The front desk staff were great. I interacted with several and they were all just great! They were organized and efficient dealing with packages, cabs, luggage, etc., The valets were nice and always pointed me in the right direction. Breakfast was good every day, buffet style and they had a nice enough selection even for a vegetarian. Omelets, potatoes (which were especially good) oatmeal, cereal, fruit, yogurt and decent coffee and pastries. The coffee, water and tea were set up ²⁴⁄₇ pretty much.
Across the street there was a little park with art and the area felt pretty safe even during the night. It was convenient to get everywhere by walking, with Mulate’s Cajun restaurant and the trolley stop at Julia that gets you to the French market and bourbon street easily within a reasonable walk (¼ mile or less). A little further walk and a few turns gets you to the WW 2 museum and the trolley that gets you to the Garden district, and just a tiny bit further than that in the other direction gets you to the Pier and trolley stop that takes you to the Treme. This was just a great hotel all around and I would recommend it for business or for vacation, as it was nice to visit bourbon st, but it was also nice to come back to this quiet little gem.

1^st off, I only chose this hotel because I heard it’s the best bang for your buck. And after reading reviews, the service is supposed to be great too. WRONG. Hampton was going to charge me DOUBLE what I was promised by
and I spent an hour getting it fixed (at this point, the staff was starting to get mouthy). When the problem was finally fixed, I went up to my king suite w/​a whirlpool tub (which was absolutely beautiful and spacious), took a shower and laid down and saw a ROACH on the wall. I got the hell outta there and asked for another room. The staff then placed me in a way smaller room and when I called back the manager stated, «that’s all I have left,» and HUNG UP on me. Never again am I staying at another hampton. EVER. And I’m calling corporate.

We just had a group meeting here for the past 2 days. The warm cookies at check in were great. The room was a good value, We were in town for a convention and enjoyed the walks to our destination. The hotel is close to the mall and restaurants.
For a meeting destination it was great. The food at our lunch was delicious, the gumbo, the chicken salad… personally I loved the lightly fried shrimp (better than my meal at Mulate’s). The breakfast has fresh fruit, a waffle bar, eggs, meat of the day, yogurt and lots of other goodies. We would stay here again! Just across the street from convention center and 1 mile to bourbon street.

Third time I’ve stayed here. not your average Hampton Inn.
No complaints about noise (and we made plenty. TMI)
Decent free breakfast deal but nothing special. standard funny looking omelets and four waffle makers… a couple of choices on coffee which I liked. Really big comfortable lobby with free wifi.
Half significant ancient warehouse and half newer. We stayed in the newer section this time and it was just fine.
I like the location being halfway between the Garden District and the French Quarter. we walked back and forth between them. The warehouse/​downtown districts offer some good restaurants and a bunch of tourist traps… Unilocal is useful

We were happy to enjoy the warm chocolate chip cookies upon arrival.
We had selected the room with two double beds and a foldout couch which really gave us quite a large room. We had a refrigerator and microwave in the room.
Our beds were quite comfortable. We had free wifi.
We had a free breakfast every morning with some interesting egg dishes. They had oatmeal with all the toppings. I wanted to have it but was tempted every morning by the waffles.
My roommate also noticed that women asked at the front desk and were given bottles of water for free.
You can’t beat the close location to the convention center!
I would be observant and careful at night when walking by the park. We did see some characters that were not quite comfortable to walk by at night.

I visited the Hampton Inn & Suites while in New Orleans for the NAR conference and a professional business meeting, The hotel staff was quite attentive and most helpful when my reservation from
did not sync with the hotel. As quickly as they could they managed to get me a room and all was good. The rooms are spacious and clean. While the rooms are dated everything was in good condition. There is a free breakfast which was just fine. I wasn’t totally jazzed about the breakfast since it lacked healthy choices. The fitness center was adequate with treadmills, elliptical machines, recumbent bikes, benches, free weights and other workout accessories. The gym was absolutely quiet which allowed me to have my own private workout! The close proximity to the Convention Center was also a great benefit,

I have stayed at this hotel at least three times, all for business. Two of the three times they gave me a suite that is like a mini apartment. The ceilings are very high, brick walls painted a soothing color. There’s a mini kitchen near the entrance with glass plates, and silverware, a nice break from plastic at the airport. A full size kitchen table is near that. A little living room with a couch, chair and coffee table is in front of the flat screen also visible from the four poster. Four tall windows to the ceiling reveal 2 sides of a city skyline, very pretty at night, making the space during the day feel bigger even though it already is a nice size. Floor to ceiling Curtains are thick but light gets in through the sides but not so distracting for sleeping.
The rates were great, $ 128/​night, the week before Mardi gras. A Hampton inn in the French quarter was $ 175/​night and then Thursday night jumped to $ 270/​night. This location is a little further away from the excitement but much nicer rooms and quiet at night, minus a siren or two. Many good restaurants are nearby.
The bathroom even had a big jacuzzi tub and neutrogena toiletries (usually reserved for Hilton garden inn). I had to take two bubble baths, because, when in Rome!
Plus it was unseasonably cold. It’s a great place to stay while on business and easy to get to the freeway but an easy taxi to the French quarter or wherever.
Taxis were sometimes slow to show up but the concierges were always helpful. Best to call in advance, the same for retrieving your car from the valet.
The breakfasts are huge: oatmeal, toast, waffles, bagel toppers, yogurt, fruit, cereal, sausage (turkey links not so tasty) and more.
The hotel staff from the housekeeping to the front desk are friendly & helpful. This feels like more than a chain hotel, even though the Hilton line is my preferred hotel chain. I really enjoyed my stay and will certainly be back.
The lobby was beautifully decorated for Mardi gras and gorgeous vases of flowers, too. I was very impressed.
There are plenty of tables and couch seating areas for groups to meet or discuss business.
This is my #1 choice for business stay in New Orleans.

I liked this hotel. The location is a little away from the quarter, but if you’re there for a a business trip it’s perfect. It looks as if it’s a renovated warehouse. They have beautiful wood floors. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. Even the views were interesting. They only have valet parking and it’s 30 bucks, so be prepared. They were offering cookies at check in and their breakfast buffet, which is included in the cost is amazing!
