Super friendly and helpful staff. Food is pretty good and you can tell the ingredients are fresh, but at least put more lettuce in the bowl so you can feel like it is worth paying $ 22 for two salads.

SOME ACTUALLY JOIN THE JCC TO EAT HERE!
No lie, for «Green To Go» in its recent incarnation, is a gym members’ only café. Many take their obsession a step further and «reserve» items before they workout for pickup afterward.
EATING CLEAN.
I’m about to go on an annual 3 week cleanse where I essentially give up all sketchy foods: grains & breads, dairy, sugar, red meat, alcohol, caffeine, and hardest of all preservatives. The changing menu here has salubrious constants: no additives, no sugar, all organics. I only had a spoonful of the sweet potato soup (the rest was «reserved») and I almost jumped the counter and high jacked the damn crockpot!
FAIRLY PRICED:
A big rainbow salad of greens and veggies with a house sweet onion dressing was $ 8; a sugar free blueberry muffin, $ 2; the weekly special hummus and sliced cucumbers, $ 2. All-​in, still cheaper that BK!
hmmmm… maybe they could expand outside of the «J» in an upcoming reincarnation…

Green to Go offers fantastic, fresh salads. I have not been disappointed with any of my purchases! Some of my favorites include the carrot quinoa, thai noodle, and the rainbow. So many healthy options and the salads are always full of a variety of fresh vegetables and are absolutely DELICIOUS. I’ve had the potato leek soup which is also fantastic. Always excited when I get a chance to buy stuff from Green To Go!

Green To Go is great… so many healthy options to choose from AND they make different salads everyday (New Orleans needs a place to get salads desperately)… I just had their Rainbow Salad with bell peppers, tomatoes, carrots, cucumbers and sunflower seed on mixed greens… It was delicious and they even make their own dressings! I have only had their food out of the JCC, but I know they make deliveries by bike. Next time I hope to get there in time for breakfast and try some of the homemade muffins.

I’ve tried 4 of the different salads (chicken Caesar, Thai noodle, carrot quinoa, and mango quinoa) so far and they are consistently delicious and very innovative. The dressings are all made in house and are great. And most (if not all) of the ingredients are local and organic.

I just had the most ridiculously delicious spring roll made with mango, avocado and a Thai slaw. Their ingredients could not be more fresh or higher quality, and their service was friendly and quick. I can’t wait to eat here again!

I hate to do this because I know they are nice people and work hard…
But I made a big mistake. Feeling bad because the poor guy keeps coming into the shop all chipper and friendly, and I usually forget they are coming and have already eaten. Or more likely, I’m skipping lunch.
Sometimes, as he’s describing what they have, there is always one WTF ingredient in the dish that leaves me scratching my head but having no wish what-​so-​ever to try it. I know it can be fun to try new combos… but maybe make it a side option or something.
So…this last time, I bought some black bean soup from them. 8 bucks with tip.
I like black bean soup. I MAKE a good black bean soup. I don’t really know what they were trying to do with this stuff.
First…it had no beans in it. It was nothing more than a purée. Now for the price, I can’t imagine anyone would be happy with nothing more than black bean flavored liquid with no texture, no croutons, no nothing. It had little or no flavor at all. I had my boss try it. He’s not as addicted to spiciness or bold flavors as I am. He even admitted it was bad. Just not worth eating. It was like black bean water, not soup. And not flavorful.
It was as if they took beans and boiled them with no spices. Then pureed them, poured the mix through a sieve and that’s what I got.
I need to repeat that I think the people are nice… but maybe tone down the experimental ingredients and maybe make some soup with actual STUFF in it.
A good, solid flavor profile is much more important than fun ingredients and black bean water.
