I used this company years ago to replace a drafty picture window and garage door. The new bow window had to be custom made as it is no quite 9 feet wide. The garage door is fine but the window is just as drafty as the old one I replaced. I found out that they did not put insulation around the window and when I called to question it, they told me I did not request insulation. They came back and re– calked around the windows which helped minimally but had the salesman mentioned it, I would have purchased insulation. This past year I spoke to a new contractor who had a man that previously been an installer for a different window company and he told me insulation is not typical in window insulation. I beg to differ.

These windows I got from Medallion have never been air tight, nor have they ever been insulated. Our house is freezing cold every winter and it is because of the drafts coming through the sliders and the tracks of the windows and also the cold radiating through the double paned glass which is supposed to be gas charged to keep cold outside and the heat inside. Touching the glass on any cold night and they are at outside temperature, not room temperature. The window in my son’s room leaks air so badly that I had to tape all the crevices with masking tape to keep the draft out. Without taping the window up, the draft is so bad it blows out a match held near the window. The room temperature in my sons room was so cold that it seems like it is outside. The window in my bedroom has dirt between the window panes which proves the glass is not air tight or thermo-​insulated. The picture window in my living room oozes cold right through the glass and the tracks on the two double hung windows on either side leak so much air up the slider channel that I had to stuff the channel with foam to stop it.
When we first got the windows in 2002, the first winter we realized just how poorly constructed they were, all the windows leaked cold. Repeated complaints never resolved the issues with these windows and Medallion charges a service fee for sending someone to come to the house only for him to tell us he doesn’t know why the windows leak so much cold air. Recently I began complaining again. I have called Medallion 4 times in the past month and they keep promising a callback but it never comes.

The sales guys are great at selling you whatever you want to hear but the follow through is ridiculous. We spent close to $ 15,0000 for a back fence/​front fence and two windows. They destroyed our yard and both of our neighbors yards. The windows are horrible. They are worse than the ones we replaced. My child cannot sleep in his room because its so cold! The back fence fell and they do NOT answer phone calls to come fix it. They also «guarantee» the fence for a lifetime YEAH RIGHT!
