The good… Open 24 hours, average diner food & desserts. The bad… Extremely slow off hours service, dodgy patrons. Went here around 10:30pm on a Friday night; the service was slow, food was average and the patrons sitting next to us seemed shady but that’s what happens with 24 hour spots. They were out of carrot cake. Basic diner…

Really enjoyed spinach pie and Greek lemon soup. My husband’s liver and onions was best he has had in a long time. Portions were generous and we left with Italian dessert to savor at home. We will be back!

I work up the street from this place so I typically stop in once or more a week for breakfast. It’s always been extremely good. You can taste the freshness in their eggs compared to much larger places. The fact it is open 24⁄7 just makes it better. Staff is always extremely friendly

My girlfriend and I go here every so often. Every time the service is awesome. The food is good(typical diner menu food). All about consistency. The prices low too!

Couldn’t rate any lower, the wait staff are rude and inattentive to specifics of an order. After stating the order twice, receiving the order incorrectly. Her excuse was that I speak fast and couldn’t remember what I said. i don’t usually rant about the the wait staff but this the profession the person chose. Ended up asking the manager to correct my order. If one wants to be in the service industry and expects to earn tips from the patrons or have repeat business, The diner needs to hire more customer service oriented wait staff.

food was great, however, it took a little while for the food to get here. waitress must of been here all day because she was clearly moving in slow motion. also there was a small bug crawling on the table. would come here again.

Good soup & salad bar — included with meals. Varied menu — steak, seafood, Greek, Italian, sandwiches & breakfast. Deserts are good. This use to be a Shoney’s/Big Boy — layout hasn’t changed — it has always been clean, the staff friendly, and the portions large.

Stopped at this classic local diner for dinner. The staff was very friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The menu offered classic American diner fare. I chose the catch of the day(haddock) and a side of mashed potatoes. It came with the salad bar which was sizable and could have served as my main course if I’d wanted. The haddock(which was a really big portion) was deep fried in a heavy beer based batter with tartar sauce on the side. The mashed potatoes came on a side plate with brown gravy. I was only able eat half of my meal because the portions were so large. The place was clean, service was quick and friendly, and the prices were reasonable. Not award winning cuisine but there was a lot of it.

It’s a hit or a miss with this place. We go here regularly. Sometimes it’s good, sometimes it’s OK and other times it’s just horrible(only once was it horrible). It really depends on the time of day you go.

This was a great find near our hotel. We have refined our palate over the years. So, my husband I were a little apprehensive about dining here. However, the lady at the front desk of our hotel recommended it and we decided to try it. Wow! I am quite impressed. It was really good Greek food. Perhaps it was just what we ordered. We both ordered specials. The menu is crazy expansive. That usually isn’t a good sign in my book. It’s really hard to keep that many options fresh so I expected a lot of the food to be processed or frozen. All I know is the dishes we ordered were wonderful and the staff was incredible courteous and attentive. We will definitely stop again when we visit Hershey Park again.

John’s diner was super convenient and tasty to us. With it being open 24⁄7 we never had to worry about finding another clean and good place around. The food was great both times we went and were of enormous portions! The food is good and super affordable! The chicken and eggplant parm was delicious and served with garlic bread and my choice of penne. My companions had the t bone steak w/onion rings and a baked potato. The salad bar was well stocked and fresh. The soups were really good especially the clam chowder and chicken & rice. The next time we came at 12 am and received the sirloin steak breakfast, 2 eggs, home fries and toast. All amazing! We also got cheese burgers and fries! Whatever you get you won’t be disappointed! Super clean and service was served with a smile.

I went here today got the grilled pork chops and they were perfectly cooked for 10.95, i felt like it was a great deal. The mashed potatoes were not that great but it wasnt the worse i ever had. Great job for a diner

THIS is good diner food. I used to eat here several times a week, when I lived in Harrisburg. After having lived in New Jersey over a year, I walked in –manager and waitress both recognized me. Jersey is supposed to be the Diner Capitol — but don’t be fooled. Between John’s and a place or two in Baltimore, New Jersey ain’t got anything on ‘em. Two words for you: Baklava Cheesecake. It’s a religious experience.

Coming from Jersey I tend to be Leary of diners out of state. We ate here for both dinner and breakfast and I would say it scored better than expect on all grades. The servings were ample and fair in taste. They offer a salad bar that was fresh and the servers were very polite and attentive.

Had dinner on a Sunday evening. I’ll be succinct: Salad bar — nice, fresh, tasty, except for the three soups, all of which were quite devoid of flavor — even alter salting. Entrees: a Spinach pie and the Yankee pot roast. Both were generous portions and seemed to be of good quality, yet very, very BLAND. Desserts: Looked luscious but we didn’t bother to try any. I hasten to add that the place is very clean, not noisy like so many restaurants, offered good service, and is well located near the Interstate exit and very near several other eateries.

The very definition of underwhelming. We were optimistic since many of the reviews were 3 or 4 stars, and we were on a road trip with a tight time limit so we weren’t exactly looking for a fine dining experience. However there was nothing we were served that didn’t come off a food service truck… except the tap tasting water. If you must stop here, stick to the salad bar where iceberg lettuce reigns supreme but at least it’s only $ 8. To add insult to injury, when the cash register person asked«how was everything?» And I replied«to be honest it wasn’t very good, despite your reviews on Unilocal.» The young woman just said«that will be $ 37.58 please.» The only way that meal could have been worse is if we get to taste it again coming back up tonight.

Usually one of my favorite places to stop for diner food on my way up north over the years but the last two times I stopped in to eat, once for breakfast and once for dinner, I couldn’t help but notice things slipping a bit. Easily a 4 or 5 star in years past, the food has been coming out mediocre lately. The owners are great and are usually there but I noticed they haven’t been in my recent visits and whoever they’re leaving in charge needs to tighten things up like the owners would. They’re not doing them service and the pride of what it once was, so things just need to be pulled back together. The servers are fine, it’s the quality of whats coming out of the kitchen on the plates that has slipped. … I’ll keep giving them a try till it gets taken car of, hopefully by my next trip through and a stop in for a meal. Hate to see this and write it but I have to be honest and the owners need to know what’s going on.

Amazing. Best scrapple! I got creamed chipped beef over home fries(special request), and it was absolutely perfect! The cream sauce was not too heavy and the beef was not too salty. Hands down some of the best service I’ve had in my travels as well. I’ve never seen my daughter clear her whole place but she ate all 3 pancakes, toast and all her eggs! She’s only 6 and she killed that meal! I can easily say I’d love to go back!

Johns has a surprisingly good salad and soup bar. It seemed fresh, and though the purple pickled egg freaked me about a bit, it turns out it’s a standard for the area. In a parking lot of Pizza Hut, Bob Evans, and Johns, Johns is the best bet. Good service, fresh food, and typical diner fare that satisfies most everyone.
