Yesterday I went to give this place a second chance. Because America is all about second chances. I waited for almost 90 minutes. I had enough. I left, thinking that hey… I’ll come back when they open. be the early bird.
So at 9 am, on a Sunday, I got to the barbershop. Because their hours stated ‘Sunday: 9am — midnight‘ right on the effing door.
Figured… hey. Why not just wait a few minutes. because I also went out last night. maybe he was running 5 minutes late. Now… after 15 minutes the anger just kept building… and finally after 30 minutes… I left.
I gave it a second chance. Now I’m never going back. But here are things I want to know…
1. How much money does this place lose because they mismanage their time?
2. How much does money is lost because they can’t open when they say they will?
3. Who schedules these people?
4. What are their profit margins? Yesterday (including me) 4 people left w/​o a hair cut. That’s almost $ 80, in an hour. They just lost $ 20 bucks this morning on me?
5. When you have a good product, but absolutely s41tty service and management… you’re going to fail.
I hope you get your s41t together people…

As I have been a frequent customer for over 18months, I was always under the impression that it was first come serve. I have inquired about being able to call ahead, and was told that it’s store policy to not take appointments due to the chairs filling up quickly. Made since.
Today I waited over 90 minutes, and when my turn came, another person got what I believed to be my spot. When I asked, stated that I had been here for over an hour waiting, and this guy walked in less then 20 minutes before he sat down, I was told that he called «yesterday», and not to worry, I’d be next.
I wasn’t worried about being next. It’s disrespectful to trump a paying customer because your friend came in.
For the record, I will never return to your shop. We live in a world where you are not limited by where you can go to get a service. I can go anywhere, and now I will. I’m not upset about the wait. I’ve waited over 2 hours to get my hair cut by you guys. I was loyal. Constantly returned. It’s upsetting that you let money walk out the door because the guy is your friend. Sorry. Bad reviews and no more people will be referred to your shop. Which is really upsetting. I’m very picky about where I get my hair cut. You guys have a great friendly atmosphere. One I will never set foot into ever again.

Current Barber isn’t what it used to be. Questionable quality of haircuts and not being open during posted hours have influenced my need to lower the number of starts from 4 to 2.
And let’s be honest with the number of college kids coming in, they don’t really care about the other customers that are coming in.

They do a great job cutting your hair, but shit they take SOOOO LONNGGGGGGGGG. Worth the money, but don’t go there unless you have AT LEAST 2 hours to spend and nothing to do after.

Honestly, I felt like I was given the cold shoulder. Seems like a very exclusive place where only their friends are allowed to speak. On top of that, the haircut was terrible. He missed many spots, which is not surprising, seeing as how he was watching the television more than my head. Left 25 $ lighter for a terrible haircut and even worse atmosphere. Will NEVER go back.

I’m writing this review on behalf of my mans satisfaction with his haircut and the service he got. When we arrived there was a decent wait for a Friday afternoon but we were a walk in, so can’t say too much about that. There were 2 barbers working initially and then a 3^rd strolled in some time later. His name was Brian and he was who cut my hubby’s hair. When he got in the seat he showed Brian a picture of the look he was going for although he let him know he didn’t want such an intense of a hard part as the one in the picture. Brian said not to worry and took his time perfecting his look. He did not disappoint. He came out looking marvelous as always ;) Even shaped him up with a straight blade to finish the look.
Scissor hands has an interesting vibe as there was hip hop blasting and all three of the barbers were in great spirits and took their time on each of their customers. The location is great as its conveniently located on George street. Prices were reasonable and both my man and I were very happy with the result of his haircut. Would definitely recommend coming here and asking for Brian.

I have not yet had a good haircut here. The atmosphere is fine, and the barbers are friendly and talkative, but they seem to fail to understand instruction, giving me a cut I didn’t ask for every single time. Last time I went there they gave me the haircut and beard trim I desperately avoid and have nightmares of getting. I grow my hair long, and when I ask for a little bit off, just a half inch or so, nearly all of my hair gets cut, and when I ask for a beard trim, nearly all of it gets taken off in a way I don’t ask for. How specific do I need to be? I’m sure many people have had great experiences here, but I have not yet, and it’s a shame.

Barber «True» did my hair ok, a little shorter than I expected but he really messed up my beard. I just asked for him to trim my beard and I was left with a uneven *pencil mustache* — not at all what I wanted. Additionally he got irritated whenever I asked him any questions about what he was doing. The general tone of his replies was a condescending «I know what I’m doing — don’t worry about it»

This place is awesome! Everyone is funny and great. The atmosphere and ambiance is great. Blasting music everyone is always chillin and overall just a great experience overall.

Excellent service. All the barbers are really talented. If you’re into fades or even designs and you’re in the New Brunswick area this is the place to go. Very convenient location as it lies on the main strip of George street. Also very friendly with prices for Rutgers college students as they over discounts for those who present a student ID. if you’re in the area make sure you stop in and ask for NAJ !

Its a nice clean place. The guys are funny respectful and professional. The cut was great! Looking forward to coming back. And yes it’s street side parking, cause thats what New Brunswick is all about!!!

both shops are sick. Easton’s a little closer so I usually go here now. didn’t think the chairs could get nicer but these ones are all different and all tight. always get the hot towel it’s a must

Really depends what you’re looking for.
If you’re a college student looking for an average cut just to keep yourself from looking too messy, this place will do.
On the other hand, if you’re actually looking for a decent haircut and barber shop, I would recommend some place else. The music is too loud, the staff doesn’t seem to care much for their customers, and quality of haircuts aren’t great.

Was coming here for about a year. Think I won’t be coming back now that I’ve found another place. The guys are friendly. Cuts aren’t always consistent. My regular guy that I prefer no longer works here and the last guy completely ignored what I asked him for on top of being on the phone and ignoring me most of the time. The cut took about 10 minutes longer because he was just chilling with his homies and it wasn’t even good, so I’m taking my business elsewhere. Sorry, guys. If you do plan on coming, good luck with parking — street parking only (or garage) — bring your quarters.

Great place. Been getting cuts there for 2 years. Never a wait and I can honestly say no one has every given me a bad cut there. 5 stars

I have been going to scissorhands barber shop on George street since the place opened. It is truly a great barbershop — fast, clean, efficient, and most importantly, not too expensive. One of the few barbershops in New Brunswick that actually care about their customers and give great cuts. I will be continue to be a regular customer there.

Guys here are cool but the quality of cuts is terrible. First time I went the cut was not too bad, the second time the cut was horrible. Way shorter than I wanted and they used only clippers on my hair on top. So the top looks uneven and not blended in at all; there’s just a small piece of hair awkwardly sticking up on the top of my head. Will probably just shave my head, could’ve just saved myself the $ 20.

I go when I am in town. Love the place. Great service, place is clean and always well managed, in store shoe shine place so if you have extra time or know ahead of time you can get your kicks cleaned as well. Charlie is the guy who I always ask for. Cash only so bring your greenbacks. I go for the hot towel straight razor shave and enjoy it to the fullest. They do have TV’s all around you but I am more of wanting to hear about what is going on in town, the chit chat of the local flavor is always interesting. Great location but the parking can be a challenge at times. If you plan it right you can have a great shave, and a nice beer at the many local places within walking distance. Not a beer drinker, no worries! Coffee shops and restaurants are plentiful.
