I don’t know much about their pizza, but their pizza BURGER is pretty good. It’s different every time I order it. Sometimes they put sliced meatballs on top of it, sometimes they put Italian sausage on it. It’s always cooked through(I like my burgers well done) and pretty big and filling. Eating inside is nice too. They serve you your food and there’s a truly yogurt right next door that is connected to the eating area.

I’m completely annoyed with the inconsistency of hours and service at this place. It used to be a place I could depend on for a cheap but delicious meal. Now, however, the hours are random and what makes it even worse is that whatever woman is picking up calls is completely clueless about what will be going on within the next 30 minutes. Called and asked when the place would be open till and she said it would be open for another 2 hours(so till 1230). I call at 1047 to put in an order for 5 people, no answer. Call again, no answer. Called once more and same result. This is not the first time I’ve had trouble with them. They randomly pick up or ignore calls and aren’t willing to provide answers to simple questions about items on the menu. Furthermore, I’ve placed an online order during their«open time» and waited only to wait an hour and half with no delivery in sight. I call and of course, nobody is there to pick up. Quality of food is also random– I ordered a veggie quesadilla and got tortillas with vegetables(mostly squash) and NOCHEESE. What on earth. But yes, that’s my rant about this place.

Honestly, I am not a big fan of halal American restaurants because the food is just not as good as the non-halal restaurants(I do eat non-halal unlike other peers from my background). I do love Paulie’s for one offering that other places do not offer. I love their Chicken Marenga pizza with spicy chicken, roasted peppers, pickled jalapenos and mushrooms(since I am not a big fan of Mushrooms, I request it without). It is one of the best pizzas I have ever had based on toppings. The pizza dough is also delicious and while it is not the best I have had(in comparison to Brooklyn), it works very well with this pizza. I have tried their sandwiches and they are good. Their cheese steaks and chicken parmesan are satisfying whenever I am hungry. Are they the best I have ever had? No, but for a halal restaurant, they are some of the best. But truth be told, I only come here for their Chicken Marenga pizza(which is offered in a personal size for an unbeatable price).

I called to order a pizza and the lady who answered the phone is so rude. I asked her for a thin crust pizza medium size, she exclaimed in a rude tone so you want a grandma pizza. What’s a grandma pizza? Then she just put down the phone. I called her back and asked her name she didn’t want to give it then I said I want to talk to your manager and in her high pitch voice we don’t have a manager. She even said I don’t care about you me I already ate! Never again I will order in this place

Best pizza in New Brunswick. My family and I ordered a large pepperoni pizza and were not disappointed. The cheese was fantastic. The pepperoni was great too. The prices were very reasonable and fair. While we were eating, the owner of Paulie’s came and introduced herself to us and asked us how we like our food. We were very impressed as that rarely happens to us. If your in the mood for New York Style pizza and you’re in New Brunswick stop by Paulie’s Pizza. It’s got a great vibe and a great atmosphere.

My husband and I ordered deep dish pizza for delivery and was deeply disappointed. If you’re looking for a deep dish pizza that is predominantly all dough, Paulie’s Pizza is for you. We ordered a meat lovers special and although the pizza was large in portion, it lacked substance of good tomato sauce, gooey cheese and good tasting crust and flavor. We basically had pizza that was all bread. We’re from Chicago and in our world, deep dish is not filled with a lot of bread that has thin toppings but rather a pizza layered with meat, cheese and tomato sauce throughout the pizza. Oh well, maybe we will stick with thin crust next time.

Talk about accidentally finding a gem! I was nursing family member at Robert Wood Johnson hospital and ordered food from this restaurant and was overwhelmed at the quality portion size, freshness and price!!! Everything ordered was awesome!!-chicken cheesesteak was fresh, fat and juicy(hard to do with chicken) Pizza was delicious !! and I ordered low-carb chicken, which was several huge, seasoned to perfection, chicken breasts with fresh spinach and peppers and does come with cheese(but I ordered without). Many of their pasta dishes feature fresh tomatoes as an integral part of the sauce not jarred garbage that’s just poured out off the shelf. And the amazing part is that all these healthy size entrées are reasonably priced $ 11 or under And the wraps are eight dollars and under and 5.00 for a personal pizza !!!-amazing !!! In the weeks since, the family member is doing fine– home and happy –and we have been back to Paulies on several occasions(We pick up the food but there is a dining area if you wish to stay) Located in downtown New Brunswick parking can be a chore but believe me it’s well worth it!!!

First I would give paulies a zero star if that was possible. So here is my paulies pizza story. I had a friend come over and we ordered 2 pizzas after work, it was around 7pm. We waited about 40 minutes no pizza, so i called and they guy said ‘ill check with the driver and contact you back’ i was patient and waited another hour, no call no pizza. At that point it was around 9 pm i was hungry and tired from work, i call again I do this twice until around 10:45 pm at which point at the last call after waiting four hours for pizza that never came i told the guy to refund my money and cancel my order. All he did was say ‘ok’ and hung up on me. I placed the order with scarlet menus and they said they would ‘refund’ my money at max 5 days never got the money, so i disputed it with my bank. I will never order from this place again. Not to mention before this experience the people who work there are rude, and unfriendly and the pizza is subpar. I recommend PJ’s pizza, and Jimmy’s they are the best shops in town for good pizza and a great staff, avoid paulies at all costs!

Ok – quick confession: In the four years I spent on the banks of the old Raritan I never had a slice of pizza or a bowl of pasta at Paulies. I prefer my pizza from La Familia or RU Grill but I digress… They get 4 stars on the basis of them having the best Spicy Chicken Caesar Salad I’ve ever had. EVER. Period. The end. :drops mic:

Paulie’s is the best drunk pizza around. 1.25 a slice at night is awesome.

My favorite pizza place in the Rutgers area and possibly central NJ. I am a huge pizza snob and this is the only pizza I’ve tried on Easton that did not disappoint. Of course, it can’t hold a candle to my 3 favorites, Brooklyn’s Brick Oven Pizzeria(in Hackensack and Edgewater), Patsy’s in East Harlem, and the real original Ray’s(which, sadly, has lost their lease and gone out of business ;_;). It’s also better than my favorite NY-style pizza in CA, Mulberry Street Pizza(the one on Ventura Blvd in the Valley, not the slightly-inferior, busier and more expensive one in Beverly Hills), and on par with my favorite non-NY-style pizza in CA, Abbott’s Pizza on Abbott Kinney in Venice(with their to-die-for bagel crust — why the hell has no one started doing that out here in NY, the pizza capital of the world? Yeah, Italy, I said it). However, I have learned one thing in my quest for pizza that doesn’t suck in LA: decent pizza doesn’t necessarily make you cry out orgasmically(except that one time in Santa Clarita, CA — R.I.P. Luca’s Pizza), but if I am not in NYC and I can eat a slice and not actively think about how I’m not eating pizza in New York, then I have found a decent slice. Paulie’s is one of those places. While that may not sound like high praise, trust me, it is. I put the pizza in my mouth, and I am not saddened that I am wasting pizza-eating on non-NY metro area pizza. This is the most I can ask for. This place gets an extra star for location: a 5 where if it were in NY or Fort Lee it would get a 4. That said, it’s above-average pizza. I have had slices worse than this in NYC. I’m not naming names, but it was Little Vincent’s on the Upper East Side. They have all the usuals and the usuals-for-east-coasters that make my So-Cal friends gag in their mouths a little at the thought(wish I could drag them out here to make them eat their words, and the following pizzas): ziti pizza, white pizza with broccoli, and chicken parm, to name a few hard-to-find toppings out West, as well as margherita, which is not terrible but I’d save the basil and mozzarella cravings for Brooklyn’s(«Brooklyn’s Brick Oven Pizza» in NJ, not«brick oven pizza in Brooklyn» — no brick oven pizza in Brooklyn that I’ve tried lives up to the glory that is «Brooklyn’s» of NJ, owned and run by descendents of the famed Patsy himself). I wish this place had white clam, but it makes up for this deficiency with french fry pizza, with or without ketchup.

I must admit, I’ve only been here two times(both times sober, though I hear this place is fantastic when you’re drunk), so I can’t say much about the variety of their menu. I’ve gotten the pizza here and it’s pretty good. I might have ordered at the right time because it was fresh hot out of the oven. For $ 1.25, you can’t get a better slice of cheese pizza. Their other slices are a bit on the pricey side, but it was pretty decent. I gave it a 3 starts overall because the place is pretty grimy and the quality of their pizza slices(minus plain) don’t add up to what they cost. I will come here again when I’m starving and can only walk a block to get food.

They no longer serve $ 1.25 slices after 8pm :(After new management took over, it seems like a lot has changed, but not necessarily for the better. The slices in general are smaller, and it seems that they don’t reheat the slices enough anymore because mine are always missing that distinctive crispy bottom crust I used to love them for. So disappointed!

Gallivanting around Easton Ave on the weekend I found myself hungry. Cool Runnings was«runnin’» out of food and Efes was looking packed so I decided to stop into Paulie’s Pizza for something. I probably ate here as a drunken undergrad years ago but I couldn’t remember… but I was attracted by their expansive menu. That proved to be my downfall, however. «Carne Asada Tacos?» Sure, why not? Why not, you ask? a) They took forever to cook(despite the fact it was an afternoon and there were no other customers) b) Carne with no asada. The meat was bland, flavorless, unseasoned. c) Tortillas, likewise, were an oily, soggy mess. d) «No onions please.» «OK!»(15 – 20 minutes later) ONIONSONIONSONIONS e) Me wishing that I had gone to taco bell for a doritos loco taco instead. what does that leave us with? That’s right, F I almost added a star to my rating, thinking maybe it was my fault, getting tacos from a place that advertises pizza and pasta. Of course, being that they posted at least 3 signs advertising their new and awesome Mexican menu, I decided to keep that star for some more deserving establishment.

3.5 stars. Rounding down because the seating area is often pretty dirty. Paulie’s is a pretty standard pizzeria, maybe with a few more non-pizza options than most. I generally get two plain slices, and they’re always solid. It’s probably the best pizza in the immediate College Ave area, but nothing to go out of the way for. Sometimes friends get their none pizza dishes, and they usually say they’re good but not great. So, above average but not spectacular basic Italian food is what you’re gonna get here, which is great if you’re at Rutgers. As I said above, the interior does tend to get dirty, which is always a little off putting, but it’s a college place and it’s cheap, so whatever. The service depends on the day. It’s also connected to a frozen yogurt store, which is a great place for dessert or bubble tea.

Dear Paulies, My mouth is not a trash can so please don’t feed me garbage. Ok, so maybe it was cuz I was hungry, but i ordered the 5 dollar turkey burger w/fries. It took them about 20 minutes to make it… It was literally a burnt mixed meat mixture w/ketchup and 2 buns with a small handful of fries. It was juicy, but I couldn’t tell what it was and it was garbage. The $ 1.25 pizza is meh. It’s ok if you need something to fill your stomach with, but I couldn’t taste it-again, garbage. If you want a decent burger for 5 dollars, a head of lettuce salad, delicious steak fries, and water, go to TUMULTY’s on Tuesday after 8pm. You won’t regret it.

Recently went by here after a late nite of smoking hookah. Both me and my friend were hungry /craving pizza. The wait wasn’t long — which is great, and the service was fast, which is also great. Additionally, it was REALLY inexpensive — which is awesome. However, it wasn’t quite what I wanted it to be. Sort of smaller slices, the cheese was really thick, but there wasn’t quite the right amt of sauce on my slice. It was good, just not great. Missing something. Go here if you are out late — and you need a slice. Otherwise, I’m sure there are other great places to go.

Great Thin Crust Pizza! Fresh Ingredients, Fresh Dough, Tomato Sauce, Fresh People! Fresh Everything. This rivals many of the other pizzerias in the New Brunswick area. I had a small pepperoni pie, and I engulfed it in 15 minutes! I also bought a cheesteak on the side. I almost finished that too, but ended up taking home the left over for my girl. She wouldve been pissed if i came home with no food!

Get the Sausage Roll or the Cheese Steak! Amazing! :) Pizza is pretty good too. Credit card minimum is the only thing that sucks about this place.
