This is a really cool library! It has the feel of an older building with columns and a big, quiet entranceway(tap, tap, echo go your feet). The inside is quite modern, though, and the kids’ section is awesome! They have huge versions of fun food(think, sushi) for decorations. When I visited with my son, they allowed me to check out books more or less on the honor system even though my library card had expired. Highly recommend!

Public libraries have to keep reinventing themselves in this day and age of e-books, Internet information and misinformation, as well as the dumbing down of America(less and less readers). This intrepid suburban library is about as useful an expenditure of tax dollars as I’ve seen lately. In addition to being a very good library in the 20th century sense, they also have a nice summer long schedule of free concerts in their little park adjacent to the library proper(it’s actually their parking lot, but it’s a much prettier and grassier parking lot than you might be picturing). Safe for children.
