I honestly don’t think that I have been to a worse public library than the one in Hales Corners. Who can really blame them, the town population is smaller than the number of the students in the Whitnall School District. If you really want a library, check out the one in West Allis.

As you walk into the halls, or as you see the building, you will realize the 70s modern design, well it doesn’t stop there. The place is retro, smells retro, yellow lights are stained from the sun, fixtures look like Microsoft back in the days Bill Gate’s was fighting Novell…(Hella old). Despite that they have computer catalogs and paper, they expanded their computer capability from one computer to like 6 and the internet is much better. ¼th the library is kid focused with the reading area and books. Staff, well they have been there since I was a kid for the most part, one lady with her glasses on the chain that has beads, watch out or she will just freak out. She has the joy of SHHHHing everyone and going around close with a big sarcastic grin to kick everyone out early. Any-who this library is good for community functions gatherings, etc, but the library is not large enough for anything serious anymore compared to its competition in book inventory on site, but who reads all those? lol You will find enough for reports and general reading in their new releases section. Plenty of Newspapers and magazines as well. They have CDs and DVDs for rent, so + there Health Dept. and other city services are on the bottom floor and the historic Ben Hunt Cabin is out back which they open from time to time for the city on historic occasions and show it off. Not too shabby, but kids have more fun here than adults may pending your interests. If this place wasn’t so retro, with a retro stereotypical staff I would praise it more, but I can’t.
