Days Inn Neptune

This hotel was recently purchased by the Red Roof Inn and has been renovated. I was very pleased with the overall condition and cleanliness of the room.

5 minutes in. Smells like curry outside of the hotel. They put us in the way back. Water pressure functions like a wacky water weasel. But it did stay hot. 5 dudes, 3 towels… shits gonna get weird.
Cheapest spot within 15 minutes of the beach. I’ve stayed in worse… but not much worse.

Small side of the road motel. Pool Is closed in the fall. Wish we could still use their hot tub. Very close to the 33 able to continually hear the nose of the passing cars. Room smelled of tandoori. WiFi worked for me too stream my shows.
Good value for the price paid.

*The floors creak
*Wallpaper peeling off and torn in places
*Bathroom window was cracked & graffitied
*Cigarette burns on the comforter
*The room was grossly damp!
All this for $ 214 a night! What a steal! (Seriously avoid this place at all costs.)

Room smelled. No queen size beds. Only full. Very small. Continental breakfast located in a closet. Very run down place. We were stared at by workers there. It was a very strange place. Only good thing was they gave us our money back after checking in. Never stay here. They have a lot of work to do if they want guests to actually stay there.

WORST HOTEL IN THE WORLD.
Sadly I did not read all of the negative reviews of this place before heading towards the shore in a hurry.
The Service was BRUTAL. The Indian woman behind the desk (well, she was hiding in another room) was the rudest person I have ever met in my life and I have lived everywhere.
We arrived at 5am (I had already given my credit card number over the phone to book for 2 nights) but instead of being greeted with a smile, I was scathed for arriving at «an ungodly hour». I had to ring the door bell (a dirty old phone next to a thick glass, bullet proof type jail cell window). It rang about 10 times. She picked it up «hullo?» and then hung up on me and she went back to sleep.
I called again and she answered «yes! HELLO, what do you want???» (in VERY bad English — I could barely understand this witch)
She came storming out of her dirty cave yelling at me that it is rude to keep calling at 5 am. I told her I was sorry but we drove very far to get there and I work third shift etc.
She was staring me down with a look that could kill (I felt lucky that the glass was bullet proof!).
She snapped at me to slide my ID and Credit card under the tiny crack under the glass. Then she really lost it when it was not the same credit card I gave her over the phone. I told her that card belonged to my Husband and I preferred to use THIS card.
She went ape shit on me. I wish I had a hidden camera as this person does not even deserve to have a customer «service» job.
I had a hard time hearing her for many reasons. (1) her English was SHIT (2) The room they make you stand in (no human contact, just a sort of holding cell) was very echo prone (3) she was YELLING at me and the screams were bouncing off the glass and walls– it was horrific (4) She never let me finish a sentence; she argued and cut me off constantly (5) I am a tad hard of hearing
She keep yelling «ARE YOU DEAF. MY GOD. ARE YOU DEAF WOMAN???»
Not kidding.
She charged my card much more than she said on the phone. She told me $ 75 per night but charged my card way too much. She said «Taxes! Taxes!!»
I tried to argue about it but she sort of acted like she would not give me my card back if I did not back down.
She shot my card and ID back at me after photo copying everything and took her sweet ass time giving me the key. She went into the back, closed the door and did not come out for ten minutes. Hubby and baby waiting patiently in the car for over 30 minutes at this point.
She comes back out, looking miserable as ever, turns her back to me and did more computer work. I asked her to please give me the key. She shot me a look and turned her back again.
I told her I would be calling her manager the next day and she said «call him NOW!!»
But there is only one number and SHE answers the phone.
Also, I called the next two days trying to speak to the manager and SHE answered again telling me the manager was «unavailable». Plus, if you go to the Days Inn Neptune web site, and try to contact the manager per email HER email address is the only one available: PatelYog4@xxxx

Let me get started on the disgusting space they call their «rooms»
I reserved a double room, a NON SMOKING room. Yet when we walked in, it smelled like a Berliner bar on a Saturday night. SMOKY AS FUCK. It was vile!
I called the front desk and of course, Cruella de Vil answered, snotty as ever, telling me «look at the door! It has a non smoking symbol on it!!!»
I said, that may be, but this room smells to high heaven of CIGARETTES.
She then reluctantly gave my hubby a key to another room and this one smelt of wet dogs and mold.
We did not even sleep a wink because the smell was so disgusting and there were FLEAS in the beds and carpet.
The AC unit was ancient and covered in MOLD. The bathroom was dirty and had mold in every corner. The tiny useless fridge also had mold in it. Wow, they have a lot of balls to charge more than $ 25 per night.
The door looked as though it had been kicked in a few times and it was a work out to open and close it every time.
I am not a cheap skate, I just thought Days Inn was a reputable hotel but at 5am we had NO other choice but to stay there.
We only «slept» there the one night even though I was charged for two.
This is also the first time my card has ever been charged and I was made to sign BEFORE checking out.
This place is a SACK OF SHIT. AVOID IT AT ALL COSTS!!!

If I could give this NEGATIVE 5 stars I would.
I travel for work and I live out of hotels. I thought I had seen it all… this hotel was beyond horrible. I don’t usually like to post negative reviews, but I feel it is necessary for everyone to know NOT TO STAY HERE.
This review could take me hours to complete so I am just going to list the things that I experienced:
1) The toilet clogged. I called the front desk and they told me to come get a plunger. I thought that was weird considering I am paying to stay there… but I went anyways. When I went to the front, it was locked. the man handed me a plunger through an open window in the side of the building.
2) Didn’t give us towels one day. I had to go to the front to get towels. Through a window. Any time we requested ANYTHING they would make us come to the front and get it through a window.
3) the room was humid and wet ALL THE TIME… my clothes were literally damp and smelled of mildew at all times. The drawers made everything I own smell of BO and mildew.
4) the sink clogged. this was most of the way through my trip and realized how horrible their service was so I didn’t even bother calling them. They left it clogged whenever they came to my room to «clean» it.
5) every day when I would come back after work, the room smelled of the strongest most horrible cleaning solution possible… my eyes burned. I am not even particularly sensitive to things like that. It was as if they were doing that to cover up the horrible smell of mildew.
6) the continental breakfast… stale english muffins and rotten cream cheese. The milk never had a top on it. The first day I went to have breakfast there the coffee machine overflowed teh cup and knocked it over. it is supposed to be an automatic machine made for the cup. It went all over the floor and the girl looked at me and just ponted to the cabinet and said «Rags in there» and walked away.
7) This hotel is family owned… and every time I left my hotel room one of the men would literally be standing int he parking lot STARING at me and my coworker. It was beyond creepy.
8) Power was out for two days in the morning. didn’t seem to do anything about it and it almost made us late for work due to having wet hair… we need to blow dry!
9) Two separate instances where we met people who told us that our hotel was known as the «Hooker Hotel». When I would be on the phone in the parking lot because I had no service in the room, men would slow down and stare at me and I realized after was probably because they were wondering if I was a hooker.
10) Wi-​Fi was TERRIBLE. TERRRRRIBLE. BARELY ever worked. For 3 days out of the stay it didn’t work at all and they didn’t do anything to fix it. And definitely did not care.
11) Moldy curtains.
12) No screens on the windows. We were on teh ground floor so we couldn’t leave our windows open at night to get the disgusting smell out because the hotel was so creepy and we didn’t feel safe so we had to live with it.
13) The last day there the cable didn’t work. We called the front desk hoping they would actually care enough to do something about it. they sent the «maintenance guy»… which was the older man. He came in and actually fixed it (the one and ONLY time they did something to fix anything or to handle a single problem we had) and then just stood there and stared at us after and said nothing until we asked him to leave… even after taht he just stood there and stared longer. Needless to say we locked and bolted our doors and checked the windows. Creepy.
If this had not been a business trip and was already paid in advance through priceline… I would have left and stayed somewhere else.
HORRIBLE HORRIBLE PLACE TO STAY. DON’T DO IT.

I have stayed here with my family many times since moving out of the area to visit friends and family. With each stay the cost goes up and the quality goes WAY down. Our last trip was July 6 & 7 2012 and it was horrible. Problems started right at check in. The front desk person did not speak English and had to keep getting a person from the back to help us. I reserved 2 nonsmoking rooms and were given 2 smoking anyway even though I should them my email confirmation with NON SMOKING on it. I get to my room and the door locks are broken. The room was basically clean and that was the only thing nice I could say about the whole stay. For my next trip I will be looking for better accommodations even if I have to pay more.

A perfectly acceptable motel. Free breakfast, fast internet, slow wifi, and clean as you’d expect them rooms. Kind of sketchy, and you have to drive a bit to get anywhere… but a decent place with friendly owners.
