Slow smoked over oak wood BBQ meats. Beef brisket, pork, turkey, chicken, St. Louis ribs, sausage, and tender baby back ribs.

Grilled items include ½ pound burgers and grilled marinated chicken.

Fresh salads topped with choice of meats.

Family style Feasts, sandwiches, platters, smokehouse stackers, kids meals, and chicken fingers.

Sides with meals include baked beans, brunswick stew, coleslaw, fried corn on cob, green beans, sweet potato, mac&cheese, fries, or our side of the day.

Appetizers include southern fried okra, sweet corn nuggets, bbq cheesefries, hand battered fried squash, homestyle onion rings and boneless buffalo chicken bites. Homemade banana pudding.

History

Established in 1949.

When Lou Bono fired up the pits of his first restaurant in Jacksonville back in 1949, little did he know that his food would one day be celebrated as the quintessential southern style Bar-​B-​Q. This was not just another barbecue joint, Lou cooked his meats the traditional way; in specially designed pits over wood, and watched carefully by a Pit Boss. Thanks to Lou’s tireless efforts and a smoky sauce that out-​zinged the competition, Bono’s became an immediate success.

Bono’s has never changed its authentic bar-​b-​q and today, under the leadership of Joe Adeeb and daughters Kirsten Martino and Katie Colley, it’s grown from a small, local operation to a successful enterprise of more than twenty restaurants. Bono’s restaurants are now located throughout Florida as well as Colorado.

Business Owner

Scott & Michelle Bennett have been the owner/​operators at this location for 19 years. Between the two of us, we have over 60 years of restaurant experience. We pride ourselves in being a local family owned restaurant with many of our employees here 5−10+ years. Many ‘kids’, including in our own family, worked here throughout their high school and college years. We are definitely a friendly, close-​nit crew! Our crew knows most of our loyal customers and in some cases, we start preparing their regular order when we see them walk in.
