The Happy Tail is a residential dog boarding/​pet sitting and day care service located in Needham. When your pet stays with us he or she will receive the love, attention, exercise and quality care they get when they’re with you. Active dogs take daily trips to the Needham Town Forest, Cutler Park or Ridge Hill Reservation. For less active dogs we enjoy walks in the neighborhood. We also offer dog walking for Needham residents.

History

Established in 2012.

The Happy Tail was established when Terry mentioned to a friend that she’d like to go into business taking care of dogs. A day later, thanks to that friend, the phone rang and she had her first customer, a Bichon named Molly, whose owner had passed away. Each dog that we care for has a distinct personality and we grow as attached to them as your pet does to us. We offer doggie day care, dog walking, dog sitting, check ins, cat feeding and check ins and other small animal care.

We recently is fenced in the yard so when your pet comes for doggie day care they will have plenty of room to roam and play. This year we added pet photography to our growing list of services and we’ve partnered with a dog trainer in the event your pet needs it.

As a small child Terry grew up around dogs. Her family always had them for pets and she continued that tradition into adulthood. Terry and her family currently have two Bichons’ named Molly and Maggie and a third Bichon, also named Molly, that came to them after the dog’s owner passed away. Terry is a runner and loves being outdoors and walking in nature. She also loves the relationships that are formed with the animals that come into her home. A Needham resident for 21 years, the Happy Tail treats all pets as family members.

Terry is a professional photographer and attended Boston University’s Center for Digital Imaging Arts. She’s combined her great love for animals with her passion for photography, all at an affordable price.
