Overall I had a mediocre experience. It’s a hole-in-the-wall type of place and isn’t very clean. No certifications were on display either. There is no music playing and the workers aren’t particularly talkative, so we basically sat in silence. My friend had old gel polish removed and the man didn’t use any tools– he scraped it off with his fingers. I didn’t get the name of the woman helping me but I could tell she was trying hard to make my gel manicure look as good as possible. However, it just didn’t really work. She started putting base coat on before clipping my nails, so I had to go out of my way to ask her to clip them. The tools they used were just sitting in a cup of blue liquid and didn’t seem clean. Also, the UV machine that dries the gel(no idea what it’s actually called) was very outdated and I had to put my whole hand in. It was basically a tanning bed. Even though this place is cheaper than other options in Wellesley($ 25 for a gel manicure), I would rather pay the extra money for the quality. My friend is going to Mani Pedi tomorrow to get them re-done, which makes this a $ 75 manicure overall. Not worth it.

I tried Popular Nails with a girlfriend – we are both from out of town. We had a good experience. Good leg massage and good massage chairs. Not the neatest job on my toes. $ 25 for pedi. No credit cards accepted. I would rate this place 2 or 3 — the folks were friendly and everyone who came into the place knew the owner and staff by name-Clearly there is a lot of return business. 2 stars because my toe nails are ok. I wish they looked sharper-I came here for a pedi and overall, I’m not happy with how it looks. The experience was fine overall.

Amy is awesome. She’s attentive and very easy going. Last time I was there for a french pedicure, my upper back was very tight. The massage chair really helped in loosen up some of my knots in the back during the pedicure session. After a job well done, she said to me that there’s no need to rush out of the chair because the chair isn’t needed yet and please continue to enjoy the massage. Wow!!! She read what I need and graciously offered more without extra charge. That’s what I call extraordinary customer service.

Great nail salon! I just moved to town and tried this place for a pedicure because of the great reviews. I was not disappointed. It was very clean and well ventilated. They carry popular nail polish brands in current color trends. The owner was extremely friendly. They do NOT skimp on foot/calf massage like some other places do. I will definitely be back!

I discovered Popular Nails at the end of last year and haven’t gone anywhere else since. Tuk(spelling?) and Amy are wonderful and as a previous review stated, they are incredibly personable and always greet you with a warm smile and remember your name as well as the last conversation you had! They are easy to talk to and do a fabulous job! Amy does my eyebrows and Tuk my nails and they are both incredibly meticulous in their work which results in great quality. And not to mention the nail polish job lasts for almost two weeks at only $ 12 a manicure!!! It is not a fancy shmancy salon but rather a warm and loving one. I highly recommend it to my friends and anyone who is looking to get a quality mani/pedi/wax.

I love this place. I have only been twice but both times have been fantastic. They fixed my last job really well and have never had much of a wait. They do a really nice eyebrow wax as well. This will be my new go-to in Needham for nails and waxing.

I hate to disagree with everyone else, but… I checked the reviews and since I didn’t have time to get to my regular place and was in Needham, I figured I would give it a try. While the woman was very nice, she was in a deep conversation with the person who had just gotten a pedicure next to me(obviously a regular), so maybe that is why I left with polish on my skin AND my big toe cut at a strange angle? Thankfully, we are towards the end of a cool Summer, so sandal season seems to be done.

They deserve 11 stars! For starters, if you call them the day you want a service, they will do the best they can to fit you in going as far as staying open late if needed(they did this for me once when I got stuck in a rain storm on my way there). The owners always make you feel welcome– it’s like Cheers– they remember your name and greet you with it when you walk in. The pedicures and facials are awesome. You’re so relaxed by the end that you feel like jelly as you try to stand up. I’ve also been getting my eyebrows waxed with Amy– she is the very, very best. She mentioned once that she studied art and it shows. She wasn’t trying to brag, but she should be– my eyebrows looked perfect! I won’t go anywhere else. I also like that she uses real beeswax– it doesn’t get scalding hot and doesn’t cause any allergic reactions(and it smells good). She’s also super meticulous and doesn’t leave you with thin line eyebrows(like they do at crappy places). I can’t say enough wonderful things about them. Oh, I should mention this– if you’re looking for some fancy, shmanzy spa where you get a glass of champagne while you’re waiting in your fluffy robe, forget it– this is not that place. What you will get is an amazing couple who want you to have a great experience and will do whatever it takes for you to walk out with a giant smile on your face(oh, and sometimes they have cookies).

One of the best pedicures in the Boston area is right here in Needham. The foot massage is an added bonus and outstanding! Hands down the place to go for a relaxing and excellent pedicure experience. I have also had a reflexology treatment here from Cindy. It was as good as any I have had anywhere — and an outstanding value. I wouldn’t miss an opportunity to visit Popular Nails!
