Tony is the BEST! I never worry when I want perfection; to say the least he is very best in quality and craftsmanship. Tony took the company back from Buzz and I am glad, he has been doing my work for the past 30 years and I won’t go anywhere else. He does the finest work for the very the best hotels (he is a perfectionist) his work will never disappoint. He has done high end leather and top quality mohair on several of our Stickley pieces. The work is truly the very best!

I am an interior designer and I was lucky enough to find Tony Carleo a few years ago! His work is of the highest quality and craftsmanship.
He has built new furniture, re-​upholstered old furniture and restored my clients’ family heirlooms back to their original glory. He has completed residential and commercial projects for me (everything from restaurant booths to window valances) and every project he has completed, has turned out beautifully. Thanks Tony!

We have a wing back sofa that was in real need of an uplift. The plan was to reupholster it myself via blogs and how-​to websites, but I decided against it at the last minute. I could not be happier with out it turned out and I am so glad that I went with a professional to do the work. The detail in how much care went into it is so noticeable and you can tell it was done with care. Friends and family consistently comment on how much they like it when they come to visit. Not only does it look great, it feels great too. The sofa has become our new comfortable couch and my family and I spend a lot of time on it. The customer service was wonderful too. Everything was done in a timely manner. I highly suggest using their services and would trust them with anything.

We can not say enough about how happy we are with our new kitchen cabinets. We have to say the quality and workmanship far exceeded our expectations. Tony the owner, insisted on solid wood and helped us with the design as well. We are so proud to entertain and show off our kitchen. All of our friends and family comment on how beautiful our cabinets are and we couldn’t be happier. My husband and I are thrilled!

The upholstery work was fine. However, we provided solid high quality foam to be upholstered and got back glued together pieces of random foam remnants. We were ripped-​off.

Buzz did a great job on my 50’s Mid Century sofa… WOW! It’s gorgeous, clad in a beautiful butterscotch-​colored leather. It cost a pretty penny ($ 3,200) too, but our sofa had sentimental value so it was a small price to pay. While I give Buzz’s workmanship 5-​stars, we had issues with the owner (Buzz) wanting to change the price of the job and charge us a couple hundred more than agreed upon. I argued that we had already signed the job order (contract) and paid 50 percent upfront and that I wouldn’t have agreed to having him do the job for $ 800 more than agreed upon.
Buzz conceded when I mentioned that I had no problem going to the BBB about this issue.
As a consumer, you want to feel good about your purchase. While I truly love what Point Loma Upholstery did with my 50’s sofa, the shopping experience left much to be desired. If you’re going to hire a prospective upholsterer, ask them forthright if they would change their pricing mid-​way through a job, after you have signed a job order.

We had Point Loma Cabinet and Upholstery (PLCU) help us with our 15 year old Ethan Allen wing back chair. We love reading sitting in that chair but from wear and sun damage the fabric was looking haggard.
My wife was assisted by the owner, Buzz in the selection of a new fabric. Many, many choices and whittling it down to a few. We took swatches home and finalized our color/​fabric.
The work was done on time and very well. We are delighted.
Our experience was outstanding. In our decision process, we never felt pushed but supported and we made our best choices. The work was done very well. The cost was fair and less than a new high quality chair.
We now have our favorite reading chair back and. better than new.

Such a lackadaisical approach to business that I wondered three or four times to my husband as to whether the owner/​staff were high, not that that’s an issue, just that having to reintroduce myself four times wears a little thin. Is this store a front?
The 1956 Ekstrom Lamino chair I found on Ebay arrived at our house with a broken leg due to poor packaging — the shipper’s insurance will pay for the repair so I set about trying to find the most experienced furniture repair store to help me with the repair. This store is not it.
We dropped off the chair on Saturday morning. The owner said he would talk with his carpenter and would call me Monday morning, he quoted me $ 175 without talking to his carpenter. The other places I went quoted me $ 300 and $ 395 for the repair. Monday rolls around, no call. So I call him. Honestly, I spent five minutes explaining who I was etc. b/​c he didn’t remember who I was or the chair. Total discombobulation. He said he’d talk with his carpenter the next day and would give me a call. Tuesday. No call. I call him in the afternoon and say that I am going to pick up the chair to get another quote — he still hasn’t talked to his carpenter and again I spend five minutes explaining who I am etc. When I go pick up the chair, it is sitting in the exact same location where I dropped it off, in the middle of the shop on a table — there is no other furtniture around.
