Great service, very friendly and the bartender was great with making cocktails. Dessert was delish!

The place is charming!!! Great vibe !!! The owner and the hostess were outstanding. I had a Seasalt Caramel Martini that was just wonderful! What needs work — the food and service. Our waiter was a bit lacking of social graces– manners go a long way. Food– my soup had to be sent back because it was brought out like/warm. It was yummy when it was brought back hot– pork broth with rice. A dollop of goat cheese made it perfect. I ordered the Rice Bowl — DON’T. The rice was old and hard– totally dry. The veggies were not fresh– frozen variety mixed in rice. We spoke to Owner and she took them back graciously. Our friends had the Braised Pork over grits — good but really salty.(Grits were salty and so where the collard greens) This is were waiter really lost points — he seemed put out that the entrees had been taken off the bill. He announced that his boss had communicated that to him in a pretty loud voice. When we finished our entrees — there were 5 of us — he said, again loudly, «I’ll bring your check, ok? «- hmmm… We wanted dessert. He brought back only 3 menus. We should have left at that point but we didn’t. We should have made the owner aware at that point but felt awkward because we had already complained. So we didn’t. We ordered desserts(chocolate mouse, peach cobbler & empanadas) and they were ok. I would not go back. It’s a shame because the place is adorable!

This is a very long overdue review. We came here for my friends bachelorette party dinner back in October. The food and drinks were great! More importantly Tammera(the special events coordinator) and her team were FANTASTIC! We had originally made a reservation for 12(when 8 girls had RSVPed) and 18 showed up! Tammera and the staff were so very gracious about accommodating our unexpected guests(despite having to bring in more tables/chairs to an already booked room). They provided individual checks for everyone and were very kind and attentive for our continuously growing group! Whether it is for a small intimate dinner, or a larger party, definitely check out Rumours East. Great food and great staff! Sincerest thanks to Tammera and the Rumours East staff for being so hospitable to our party!

I would just like to say that the staff at Rumors East is fanominal. I think they handled the tornado watch/warning very well. I’m also happy to say that I did not end up in their freezer! And bonus points for a great steak and extra wine to keep us all sain during the worst of the storm!

I have never had a bad experience at Rumours. First of all, the atmosphere is on point. The interior is cozy and intimate and the outdoor patio is absolutely gorgeous — plenty of space out there and lots of twinkle lights. Large drink selection, but I’d stick with wine. Have tried a few cocktails but haven’t loved any of them. Bonus points if you make it for happy hour and can get select wines for $ 6 a glass. As for the menu, I’d describe the selection as upscale comfort food. Very rich, but high quality ingredients. Some personal favorites are the pork shoulder on greens and grits, crab cakes, and the pimento cheese sandwich(it’s got bacon. come on.). Seemingly a large variety of waitstaff, but all have been nice and a couple have been standout. Can I afford to eat here all the time? No. But do I come every time I earn some Spring Rewards credit? Yes.

The four of us each got something different. Although none of us disliked our food, none of us were overwhelmed. We all agreed the food was in the B range. What really disappointed us was the service. Our waiter disappeared multiple times. He wasn’t knowledgeable about the drink, nor food menu and even challenged me regarding a liquor that was on the menu. I can deal with ignorance of food and drink, per se, but the lack of urgency and can-do attitude was similar to a fast food restaurant attitude. Honestly, I likely will try it again, but I would not bring others(it was a social business dinner) until my trust of service is captured.

Pimento cheese sandwich was delicious. Our server, Jabari, was the best! But seriously, the smooth jazz? What the literal eff? Worst ever. Please go back to the indie hipster mix.

This is really careful food and only mildly pretentious. Staff was cordial. My entrée was really great: a bed of grits with collard greens and pulled pork. A bit with all three was really a winner. The banh mi sandwich was a little bit too much show and not enough substance, but four stars it is for a wonderful dinner.

Free valet parking is nice. The space is lovely. The courtyard is amazing. The cocktails were great. The menu reads well. The execution of said menu was less than great. And the prices are through the roof. I would not eat here again.

Rumours is under new management. Their new menu looks fantastic, but I have to take away two stars because they tax their drinks on the outside. Nashville, NO! Stop! Please do not tax on the outside! Put the tax on the drink price!!! THISISINSANE!!! I can’t. I don’t even know. When you have a happy hour and you say your drinks are $ 6, they should be $ 6. We were charged $ 9 in taxes on the outside. What a scam! For people who are watching their money this changes things. A lot! Just make your happy hour $ 7 a drink if you are going to do this. The other option, which I do not recommend, is put on the menu that you are going to tax drinks on the outside. You need to alert people of this. It is not the norm. I’m sorry TN liquor taxes are stupidly expensive, but do not take it out on your customers!!! Ugh, ugh. This makes me so sad. I did not want to have to leave this review, but people need to know. It’s the olé bait and switch. This makes me double sad because they have one of the nicest patios in Nashville and they are kind enough to leave bug spray out. It’s going to take some time to move past this. Sorry Rumours.

Couldn’t say enough great things about this place. The ambiance is a dark, low lit vibe. It’s an amazing date spot or a great place to have a private dinner with friends. Highly recommended.

I’m not sure how this place has 4.5 stars. One of the most disappointing meals I’ve ever had. To start, our waitress’ attitude was bizarre. She sauntered up and said«our cocktails are super good. Like all of them. Look over it. Let me know». And left. No real suggestions. No direction. Nothing. We stuck with our water and went straight for dinner. Our waitress continued with her blasé attitude and said«what do you want?»… I went with the Gnocchi with arugula pesto. My husband got the pulled pork shoulder with compound butter and greens. Our food came pretty quickly. My gnocchi was nothing to write home about and nothing to even write a review about. Bland. Boring. Tasted like mushy arugula. No flavor. My husbands food had great flavor but was piled up on each other. Grits or potato then cooked collards then pork shoulder then butter. It was all warm mush together. Again — good flavor but a bizarre choice for a summer menu. It was comfort food and the combination allowed the pork to shine. The components could not stand on their own and were simply vessels to carry the meat to your mouth. Sigh. We spent over $ 50 for a terrible dinner with boring service. We won’t be back. Which is sad because the garden is lovely and the location is perfect.

Cute little cozy house in the five points area with a beautiful backyard. Great place to go when the weather is nice outside to sit in the yard. The dishes are creative and tasty. We enjoyed everything we ordered. Highly recommend!

Absolutely perfect dinner experience. Came here with my fiancé, mom, and brother late on a Saturday evening(around 10pm). We were seated promptly by the host who was the most spectacularly friendly woman I’ve ever met. Seriously, this woman could win an Olympic gold medal for cheerful small talk and sharp wit. Our server, Ian, was incredible. He had a personality and was able to crack jokes and riff with us but still knew his stuff. My fiancé has a serious tree nut allergy and Ian already knew which items were a no go and assured us he’d double check anything we ordered. The restaurant itself is gorgeous. We were seated on the back patio on a steamy summer night and while it was a little on the muggy side it was still totally enjoyable. The strung lights made the atmosphere feel very cozy. Hands down the best dining experience I’ve had in Nashville and one of the more memorable overall. 10⁄10 would eat again.

With the strewn lights in the backyard, wonderfully creaky wooden floors and charming East End house, there’s little doubt that Stevie Nicks, Christine McVie and the rest of Fleetwood Mac would feel at home at Rumours — maybe just keep them away from all the wine. And that’s okay, because that means there’s more for me! I have heard whispers and rumors(hyuck!) about the wondrous food program here and I’ll have to come back and try it. But based on wine list and atmosphere alone, I’m a fan. Woodland is one of my favorite streets on the east side and I love how it changes character depending on which neighborhood it is in which you experience it. Here, the Victorian bones of this restored home invite you to explore every nook and cranny. Better yet, they implore you to sit, have a glass of something and enjoy some conversation with a friend. For the length of my stay at Rumours, I felt as though I was at a friend’s home, rather than a restaurant. That’s high praise. My friend and I sat by the bar in the back room. We thought about drinking outside but decided to pass on the opportunity at the time. In case you have FOMO from eating/drinking inside, rather than out, don’t. Our table was comfortable, our view from the window was nice and being so close to the bar made service a breeze. Our waiter, Ron, took great care of us. I am a beer lover and cocktail enthusiast but that night I was in the mood for some vino. Rather than feeding us a bunch of bull, Ron gave us constructive feedback on which wines were best suited for us, based on particular tastes and what we were looking for in a glass. He knows his stuff and he helped me find a wonderful red for sipping and conversation that wasn’t too spicy or too flat and that wouldn’t give me heartburn. Sounds like a pain in the ass customer, right? Well, I figured if I was going to ask an expert, I was going to ask an expert! Ron came through in a big way and found the perfect glass — which turned in to two. And, if we hadn’t had to leave, would have turned in to many more. Patio weather is back and I can’t wait to return. After all, I have beer, cocktails and food to try. And, a back yard in which to sit. Here’s to spring!

Went out for a nice dinner with some girl friends and first of all, I’m surprised we got a reservation same day and I’m glad we made reservations because I saw them turn away some walk ins. That being said they didn’t get a 5 star because they constantly had open tables… on a Saturday night when they were turning people away… what!!! We showed up early and we were constantly confused and wondering why there were open tables but they couldn’t seat us. Maybe its some thing about giving off an exclusive, hard to get into vibe or something, who knows. The restaurant is in an old house and I loved the fireplace and hardwood floors. There is a little bit of outdoor seating but it was too cold to enjoy for our visit. As far as ambiance goes… great for a date night or to dress up a little and go out with the girls. As we waited we relaxed on the couches at the front of the restaurant and enjoyed some wine and the meat and cheese appetizer which was very tasty. The waiter was nice but I can’t say he was very attentive… not sure if it was because we were in the waiting area but they told us to order drinks and apps while we wait so it’s not like we were asking for things they weren’t offering. The water and drink refills could have been more frequent but it was okay since we were really just there to relax and not rush. Once we were finally seated we all ordered entrees pretty quickly but the food took a long time to arrive. Our server was very friendly, was able to answer all of our menu questions and made sure to check on us throughout the meal to make sure we were taken care of. Unfortunately I don’t’ remember what we ordered but i can attest that everyone has very different tastes in food and we all enjoyed what we got. It wasn’t a cheap evening by any means but a great time and I would visit again.

What a gorgeous place! A wine bar in a historical home, can it get any better than this? Upon entering, I admired the pocket doors, hardwood floors, and dimly lit-interior. The front two rooms lend themselves well to private dining(for your party of 4 – 20, I’d say) and the bar area is as inviting as it gets. Although all outdoor seating was occupied, I couldn’t help but go out and admire the fairy and torch-lit backyard, as well as the lovely porch area. I hope to be able to come back and sit outside one day, though next time I’ll be sure and make reservations. I didn’t even glance at the food menu this visit, so I can’t comment on that. There’s a fair selection of wines by the glass and I loved the Tempranillo. Our server was naturally very well-informed about wine and was able to recommend the least sulfite-heavy variety to my friend which was also excellent. Two-glass excellent — I didn’t want to leave!

I loved my experience at Rumours East and I will return when I find myself in Nashville again. It was a lovely day and we sat outside in their adorable backyard that made you feel like you were dining at a friend’s house. We started with the cheese plate with 5 cheeses which were all delicious. My server recommended a great wine. I ordered the scallops on special and my dinner companion ordered the beef stroganoff stew. Both were delicious. Service was great though I requested another glass of wine when our entrees were served and when it still hadn’t arrived when I was taking my last bite, I ended up canceling the order. Otherwise, all was good.
