Barmakian Jewelers

My first experience with Barmakian was 46 years ago in their Boston store (the only one at the time), for an engagement ring. My uncle, a silversmith in the Jeweler’s Building, had recommended them as the best in the building. Since then, I have made all my big purchases there, as the service has been consistently superior and the prices very competitive.
Yesterday, after testing the waters with two other jewelers, we decided to try the Nashua store for a sizable upgrade of my engagement ring. We dealt with Esther and found her to be warm, knowledgeable and very patient. We ended with an absolutely beautiful GIA-​graded stone that was priced less than some of the other GIA stones of lower grading that we’d seen elsewhere. We matched it with some other beautiful precious gems of high quality, and I could not be happier. It will take several weeks to create the setting and set the stones, and I’m really excited to see the result. Thank you, Esther, for a thoroughly satisfying experience.

Being that it is a family business, customer service is highly regarded in this store and it shows. My fiancé and I were greeted by everyone at the store. Jose worked with us and was wonderful. He knew exactly what we were looking for in style, with just a few words. He also knows the story behind every piece in the store, and boy, is it a huge store! He took his time to explain the history and all things we need to know about each piece. He didn’t rush us.
The pieces are also exquisite, and will cater to most price points.
I highly recommend attending their wedding event. Why not shop for jewelry while sipping on a glass of prosecco? Treat yo’ self!

Visiting Barmakian, whatever the reason, has been a true pleasure each time. Sincerely, working with this store has been one of the most enjoyable parts of wedding planning so far! I bought my fiancée’s engagement ring from Cheryl who was very helpful. I was never pressured into choosing anything. Instead, I was kindly guided through the nerve wracking process. Cheryl made sure I understood everything before making a choice. Even better is Barmakian’s honest prices, negating the need to «haggle» for a best price. I found Barmakian’s prices to be the most fair and competitive for their high quality. We have since returned to pick out my fiancée’s wedding band. Jose was great to work with in that process, making it totally effortless. I have also visited a couple of times to resize and polish my ring and have found the service desk staff to be equally wonderful and LGBT friendly. We love Barmakian in Nashua and find that it is worth every extra mile to head up there from Massachusetts. I expect Barmakian to be our lifelong jeweler!

We worked with Nicholas selecting wedding rings. He and the team were attentive and exceeded our expectations. The service was great and they delivered on their promises.

A couple months back I contacted the Nashua store and asked to speak with a manager regarding the issues I had with my engagement ring. I was connected with Jose. We set up an appointment and met to discuss the issues I had with the ring. Jose gave me the option to choose a different style band or send my ring back to the manufacturer to have it checked and replace the missing stone. I decided to have it sent to the manufacturer. The manufacturer decided to replace the whole band because they felt the issues I had with it wasn’t right. A week later, I picked up the replacement ring. Overall the ring looked put together better than the original. I was happy with the outcome. I still only wear the ring to my desk job or special occasions. So far the ring hasn’t lost any stones. Jose reassured me that if any stones fall out again I can still choose to go with a different band. I definitely liked working with Jose and would work with him again.

I cannot recommend Barmakian Jewelers enough. If you are lucky enough to be shopping for rings, I highly suggest using them for engagement rings, wedding rings (and any replacements you need along the way).
We started working with Eduardo, Jose, and Adrian at the recommendation of a friend. We were planning on getting engaged, so my (now) wife and I wanted to work together to find the perfect engagement ring. The team there was so incredibly helpful and professional. We worked together tirelessly (back and forth over several emails) to find the perfect ring (color, fit, adornments) and ultimately settled on a diamond-​crested sapphire ring. I must say that we had an idea about what we wanted in an engagement ring, but that the result far exceeded our expectations. The team at Barmakian worked directly with the designers to perfectly customize my wife’s engagement ring based on our specifications. The result (worn by my wife for the past year and a half) reminds me every day what a wonderful job they did.
When the time came for our wedding, the team at Barmakian was incredibly excited to work with us again, and we were happy to be going back there. We got both of our rings (man’s wedding band and woman’s wedding band) at an affordable price. Eduardo, Jose, and Adrian brought us in and walked us through all of the options, finally deciding on two wonderful pieces that we both loved.
Before the final portion of this review, I’d like to make a quick note: I never felt pressured by the team at Barmakian. I absolutely hate to get into haggling and «upselling» situations. It’s the worst. But with Barmakian, I felt like they appreciated my realistic budget and wanted to work with me to craft the perfect set of rings.
So after the wedding, when I lost the man’s wedding band (went to Aruba for a honeymoon and lost it in the ocean while toying with it), I was devastated. I wondered how I would go to work without a wedding ring. But I contacted Barmakian hoping they might be able to replace the band. My first email was sent the night I lost my wedding band, a Thursday. By that Sunday, they had a replacement ring ready with the correct inscription. I came in on Tuesday, picked it up, and was ready to show it off to everyone at work the next day.
I cannot recommend Barmakian enough. They have worked in both short-​term and long-​term notice situations, and have maintained a level of professionalism and kindness throughout that has made it an absolute pleasure to work with them. We will surely be working with them for all of our jewelry needs for years to come.

I can’t say enough good things about this place. My fiancé bought my engagement ring there in August. I had wanted a specific Coast setting and he didn’t realize it wasn’t a stocked setting. He was anxious to give me the ring that weekend so they helped him find another beautiful setting and let him know if I still wanted the other I could exchange it.
We ended up ordering the Coast setting and I was prepared to not have a ring for a couple of weeks. Eduardo was kind enough to let me wear the other setting while until the new one came in!
I picked the new ring up this week and couldn’t love it anymore. It is stunning. The team of people that helped me and my fiancé through this process were professional, kind and extremely knowledgeable. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a high quality jeweler.

Barmakian Jewelers was fantastic! I brought my wife’s pearl necklace here to be restrung after it was broken and they quickly determined the whole necklace needed to be done. After shopping around I found that they were hands down the most affordable for jewelry repair. The repair it self was done quick and easy so my wife has her favorite piece of jewelry back.

I love barmakian! The service is excellent and the selection is huge. So many different styles to chose from. I got my engagement ring and husbands wedding band from Cheryl. She was so helpful and kind. We visited last weekend to get our rings cleaned and buffed and Cheryl helped us again. Highly recommend barmakian!

Several months ago, I brought an heirloom emerald ring into Barmakians jewelry to be reset. I also want some assistance on what I could do with the ring as it looked a bit too plain just with the emerald alone.
I really had no idea what to do but wanted it spruced up.
I gave them a certain amount of money that I wanted to stay in for the sprucing up. When I picked up the ring, it was truly amazing the way it looked. It looked like a completely different ring — absolutely gorgeous. They did an exceptional job and put 2 beautiful diamonds on either side of the emerald. The size and shape of the diamonds are perfectly set and give the ring a perfect balance.
Since then I also have bought several pairs of beautiful little emerald and diamond earrings for my daughter.
If you searching for a jewelry store that has high quality items and knowledgeable staff that actually know what they are talking about, I emphatically advise you go to Barmakian’s. You won’t be dissatisfied.

We had the great pleasure to work with Esther while shopping at Barmakian Jewelers in Nashua. She was attentive, knowledgeable, extremely professional, and she had very useful opinions. I purchased four pairs of earrings in a short period of time, and returned to purchase more jewelry from this very professional salesperson. Our daughter and son-​in-​law went to Barmakian to purchase their wedding bands.
The customer service is superb, the store is beautiful, and they have a terrific selection. I would encourage anyone who’s interested in going to a fine jewelry store to shop here. The entire staff is welcoming, knowledgeable, and professional.

My husband and I went in and purchased his wedding ring from Nick. We were told 2 to 3 week tops for it to be in. I checked back in 4 weeks and they told me to wait another week and they were sure it would be in. A week later still no ring. Nick checked on it gave me many excuses but promised me it was top on his list and will have an answer for me Tuesday. Tuesday came and we were promised that on the 23^rd they would over night the ring and we will have our ring on the 24^th. Well it was the 25^th still no ring and wedding was on the first. We never received a call it was us following up constantly. Tuesday we cancelled the order for the ring for it was still not in and we had 4 days to find a ring. Thank goodness we did. This place highly disappointed us.
They are one of the only places that carried the brand of watch that my husband wanted to purchase and we drove a distance for we will NEVER shop there again.

I recently went to this jewelry store for something very special. My husband passed away and I wanted to have an infinity ring made using my wedding band, my husband’s wedding band and my diamond. It was a design that I found online so I had a picture of what I wanted. I was assigned to a women who was very rude and not helpful at all. She acted like I was asking for the moon. She kept trying to talk me out of the design that I wanted and said that I should choose a design that they sell there. Finally, after being persistent, she took the rings to the designer so that I could get a ball park figure of the cost. She came back to me and the first thing out of her mouth was «don’t take this anywhere else because they’ll steal your diamond and the gold and give you something cheap.» Then she told me that the designer said that they could do it, but it is risky because the gold was old and it would probably crack. I’m no geologist, but that didn’t sound right to me. I got the feeling that they didn’t want to be bothered. I thanked her for the information, grabbed my jewelry and practically ran out of there! I will never go back there again and I will be sure to let everyone I know how arrogant and a pretentious they are.

I felt as though I needed to update my review on Barmakian Jewlers. It has been a couple of years since I had been in… but it was time as I was getting ready to pop the big question to my girlfriend. I did not even consider going anywhere else because I remembered my last experience.
When I went it, I was greeted right away and a few other saleswomen who I was not dealing with greeted me as well. I could not have felt more welcome. When it came time to pick out the setting, I found out we had to specially order the one that my girlfriend wanted. I was hoping to propose that weekend, but was immediately told I could purchase another setting for my girlfriend to wear until the order came in. I could not believe that you could do this. From there it was smooth sailing. They helped me pick out a Diamond that fit what I was looking for and my budget.
I thought this process was going to be long and a nerve wracking, but I could not have been more wrong. Thanks to Kim, Jose, Denise and Ester for rolling out the red carpet and making this moment a special one. You guys are truly the best!!!

GREAT SERVICE. I purchased a ring from another vendor. My wife had some issues with a loose diamond. Not only did the customer service people fix the ring promptly even though we did not buy the ring from them, but did it at a reasonable price. Since we have gone back to have gold added to rings and purchased other jewelry. The quality of work and service is top notch. Customer service has been exceptional. I would highly recommend using this jeweler. I recently bought a watch that was competitively priced. Nice to finally have a jeweler that you can trust to leave fine jewelry with. Highly recommend.

My husband and I bought my engagement ring and our wedding bands from Barmakian’s, and we cannot say enough good things about them. They have a huge selection and they always treat us so well; they remember us every time we walk in. Nicholas is a first rate salesman; he is absolutely fantastic. If you are looking to purchase an engagement ring or wedding bands, be sure to ask for him. I also bought a watch for my husband there, and had a watch of my own fixed. The service is always outstanding.

My husband bought my engagement ring and his watch from Barmakian, and I have since bought two other diamond rings from them. I did go to other jewelry stores, but they did not have the designs I was looking for (I am very particular), and the variety in platinum/​diamond jewelry that Barmakian has. In addition, the salespeople are very kind, patient, not pushy, and very knowledgeable at Barmakian.
I am very happy with my previous and recent purchase from Barmakian, and my husband is very happy with his purchases as well. He had his watch serviced there, and it worked very nicely and was polished beautifully. Their service is excellent, and I don’t want to buy from any other jeweler.

I have bought a lot of jewelry here. Their diamond department is fantastic (although signing in is a bit tacky) If you are making a purchase they are very nice and extremely accommodating. They loose 2 stars in my opinion with their service department.
I trust them here so I bring all my jewelry here regardless of if I bought it here or not. In the past I have never had an issue but recently I brought in 2 pieces that I needed repair. I learned they don’t work on silver and they look down on anything not gold. I had a bracelet I bought for my daughter at Michael Kors about a year ago. It needs a very tiny screw. I brought it in, willing to pay whatever they asked but the woman looked at me and told me to just bring it back to the outlet I bought it from. I was a bit offended. I didn’t buy it at an outlet and it wasn’t cheap.
I brought it to another jeweler who had no trouble fixing the bracelet. Barmakian doesn’t sell anything I can’t buy elsewhere.

We have gotten a variety of items from here, but our best purchase has definitely been mine and my husband’s wedding band. I was really struggling to find a band because my engagement ring has a square setting with thinner band so a regular round band didn’t fit or look right. We searched everywhere for bands that would fit and nothing worked. We felt defeated and thought we were going to have to spend some big bucks and have a custom band made. Our last stop was Barmakian where we met with Nick (very helpful and friendly) and went through the wedding bands. Within seconds I saw something that caught my eye, tried it on and it literally looked like the band was MADE for my engagement ring. SOLD.
After such a good experience with my band we decided to go back for my husband wedding ring and worked with Denise this time. She is an absolute sweetheart and was so incredibly helpful. I highly recommend her. We found an unbelievable band with diamonds that is absolutely stunning. There were only a handful of his ring made so it really felt custom. He literally gets compliments on it everywhere we go and I have never seen anything similar to it.
I have heard some friends that purchased their engagement rings here having issues with the prongs. I didn’t get my engagement ring from here but I can highly recommend the quality of their wedding bands. Both my husband and I are still constantly looking at our rings and are completely in love with them.
