Update: It’s been a few months now and I’m still loving my Naples organics delivery. You can sub out items before they arrive so now I get all of what i want and none of what I don’t. I’m also trying new types of greens and veggies that I normally wouldn’t buy. My kids are enjoying the fruit and my husband won’t even eat store bought tomatoes anymore.

I purchased a groupon that would mean I would get a small fruit/veggie box, a bluapple packet that helps keep your produce longer, and a cooler bag. I put my coupon number in the system and set up an account. On Fridays you receive the info about what you will be receiving in the coming Wednesday’s box and you can select a few substitutions if you’d like. I did that. Monday came around, which is the day your box locks and you get charged for the coming weeks box. I should not have been charged for anything, because I entered my groupon, yet I was charged the additional 7.00(the discount the group gave me) I sent an email asking why, and got no answer, but the money was returned. That was okay. Wednesday came, the day for delivery, and I forgot to call the front gate to tell them they were coming, and they were turned away when they couldn’t reach me. I saw the missed call. I called, and were more than happy to come back. I thought that was so gracious because it was my error. The box was left on my porch not long after they said they were coming back, and I was super excited! I opened the box, no bluapple and no cooler bag. I called them again. They were apologetic, and said it was something with Groupon and they had a different offer, but would send me the missing items next week. It was a bumpy ride, but they were very kind, and the produce is amazing! So fresh and so yummy, and that’s what I was ultimately looking forward to. They are working out the kinks, but they have your best interest at heart. The box was more than I could hope for in quality. I will be a weekly customer.

I like so many others, found Organics of Naples through Groupon but unlike most others I found them about 3 years ago. My first box and for several months was perfect; the fruits and veggies were large and wonderful in a huge box. After about 9 months of this wonderful delivery service they showed up with a box half the size with half the contents. What they did send looked like it came out of someone’s garbage can. Many times my order was incomplete and when I called I was told that they could not understand why my delivery person said they were out of an item when in fact they were not? Finally I had to put a hold on my delivery and sent them an email telling them I would only resume again when they went back to the way they were when I first joined the service. I never got a reply to the email but they continue to notify me when a delivery was to be sent out and than I would go online and cancel it.

Update 4÷6÷15: Raised from 1 to 3 stars. Organics of Naples contacted me to discuss this review. They claimed to be under new management and offered to send delivery. After agreeing that sending a delivery would just cover the delivery we had purchased but never received, they graciously agreed to send two weeks of deliveries. Quite honestly, I was skeptical that they could pull it off. However, both deliveries arrived an the quality seemed good. Like with other organics coops and deliveries, there are some things in the box that are less familiar to us. That means that we try some new things or they go to waste. Both. Hope they can keep improving. Original reviews here: BEWARE In Summary: Took our money and credit card info, but never delivered anything, not even a rotten tomato. They are in over their heads, sending confusing mass emails to clients, and haven’t responded to three attempts to contact them via email. BEWARE. Details: Received a trial of Organics of Naples as a Father’s Day gift in summer of 2013. Signed up for my first delivery in July 2013. Received a confirmation email from Organics that they’d send me another email to confirm the contents of the order and allow me to make substitutions. They sent the confirmation and order details for delivery about three days later. I gave them my credit card to add a couple more items to the order. Everything looked great … until… they sent another email that said, «…we are having some issues with product and customer service.» «We plan on bringing in new management … and unfortunately we have not done a good job keeping up with demand.» There’s a prayer and hope in the email that maybe maybe they’ll restart around September 2013. For those of us who gave them money and credit card information: No one replies to emails. No one will give us our money back. No one will answer the phone or return messages. If you see one of their trucks on the street, please grab my $ 35 worth of goods and stuff it into their fuel tank. UPDATE — 8÷28÷13 Naples Organics just send our an email saying: «Important message from Organics of Naples, We want all our members to know we have been trying our best to come up with a new system to serve you better. Unfortunately at this time we are unable to make these changes. We are still looking for a new management to take over our service so we can provide excellent service to you each week. We want to ensure you we are not closing for good and we do plan on resuming delivery service soon. At this time we need to extend our suspension of service. We know this may upset some of our members and we apologize for this. Please know if you purchased a Groupon you can simply contact Groupon and request a full refund no questions asked. We want you to know we never anticipated suspending service. This suspension is only fair to you as we do not want to provide bad service. We are confident we will find a new management to handle delivery service. Once we find new management we will email all our members to begin service again. Although you will return your Groupon for a full refund we will still provide the same offer when we start up again. We hope you understand our position and truly appreciate your support. We will keep you posted when we have an anticipated startup date. As always we appreciate your support and understanding.» Guess what, though. Groupon says that Naples Organics already redeemed our groupon, so they won’t issue a refund. No food, no delivery, no refund. No deal.

Unfortunately, the eternal optimist in me hoped for something better. There has been lack of communication about issues with bruised or missing veg/fruits. After a long lapse of time, I get a random email back stating that they’ll just add it to my account instead of discussing options. They also made a mistake on our credit, and instead of again discussing options, we were charged for their mistake. Our first box wowed me, but thereafter, the quality of product was poor, either by size or by bruising/browning. I gave them 3 stars instead of 2 stars because they’re revamping their management, if I’m not mistaken. Hopefully there is enough attention to look at their customer service issues. Perhaps, if they focus on developing lasting customers instead of putting out more Groupon offers, they’ll be much more successful.
