Scott The Dog Guy

I had scott come over once. He was very responsive in texts and when he got here, I spent 45 minutes asking him questions and then he spent the last 15 teaching us how to teach my puppy how to sit. I gave him the 50 bucks for the hour and then before he left, he said he gives free text advice.
I texted him a few weeks later and told him I was having issues with the dog waking me up early in the morning by yapping. I asked if he could help us teach her how to bark on command so we can quiet her on command (like I saw in Youtube videos and by reading dog books). He said that method will not work. So I asked «So you don’t think there’s anything you can help with in this field?» and he said «I don’t think we are on the same page. I’m trying to help you, but you are asking for things to change quickly and it’s just not going to happen that fast. Take care and good luck.»
??? WTF? I don’t get it. It’s not like I expected him to help us solve the problem in one session! I was asking for him to come over, teach us some stuff that can help her with her yapping, and then he leaves and we continue training her for the next few weeks like we did with the sit command! I did not say anywhere in my texts that I want it to happen ASAP, I just wanted some tips on what we should be teaching her going forward to train her to stop yapping.
This guy is clearly not professional and VERY rude. I would NOT recommend him.

We love having Scott work with our little Havaneese. He’s been so wonderful in guiding us through the puppy process. So grateful he’s working with our pup. Highly recommend.

5 stars for Scott. We have been working with Scott for 3 weeks and have since seen the following results:
— our dachshund walks beautifully on a lead (previously a nightmare)
— the dog has learned to respect us before getting his meals (previously tried to eat our hands)
— we have regained control over common areas (the doorbell, vacuum, couch — our dog no longer terrorizes these things)
Scott’s methods are simple yet effective, primarily focusing on training you while also training the dog.
I’m so glad we gave him a chance. His training is invaluable to the amount of happiness now in our home life.

My family has three dogs. We have had Scott out several times for different situations. This guy knows what he is talking about and each time he has come out we have seen positive results!
He is knowledgeable, patient, and calm. He addresses the behavioral problems and then teaches us how handle this issues as they come up. I highly recommend Scott– my family enjoys working with him and the dogs love him.
